You're both wrong and right. If you enter into a repayment agreement, preferably in writing, it will supercede any previous agreemetn (it is simply modifying your original agreement). If you simply say, I'm sending you $20 every two weeks, take it or leave it, the fact that they accept your $20 does not mean that they have accepted your unilateral change to the contract. Now, the other possibility (if you live in Ontario), the collector can enforce the contract in small claims court. Getting court and other costs is NOT automatic (in spite of the threats that are often made by collectors). If you can't pay, don't! They have two years to enforce the contract. $20 every two weeks will probably not get you out of your obligation for years at the 60% interest rate they charge. Let them enforce the contract. I'm not saying don't pay it because you don't want to, I'm saying not paying the rent or not buying food just to keep them happy is a bad idea.

who is this ccc
| anonymous 2013-01-05 02:00:59 Unknown |
CCC just means Corporate Collection Centre.
Also, taking a $20 payment is not an enforcable contract, the contract you signed is the enforcable contract. They absolutely CAN ask for more. I agree that debtors should know their rights, but what you posted is straight up misinformation.

they claim to be THE CCC
i agree it is cash 4 you collections
if you call them back you will get the store that you borrowed from and they are pretty reasonable, to a point
any collection company has to take what you can give them, know your rights
that means if you have $20 every 2 weeks till its paid off then they will just have to deal with that and take it
as soon as they do take it they are in a contract with you can cannot ask for more...they will try...lol
hope some of this helped
