last week, Someone named Gabriel called.  Said something about anesthesia billing - "Call me back as soon as possible at 1-855-886-8567"
I Called back - message machine - they had strange business hours - I left message saying if he was calling about the anesthesia bill (that I just had received in early May), I paid it on May 20th.   Gave my name, dob and contact info.
THEN Gabriel called again today.  Left similar fishy sounding message.  

I Called back - some lady answered who sounded very young, not super professional - couldn't find me in her "system" kept asking for info, and the more I gave, the more suspicious I got thinking I was totally being scammed.  I asked her if Gabriel was there?  She never would answer, needed to know if the phone number I was calling from is the one they called, patient name, date of birth, zipcode, I was totally expecting SS # to be asked for!  

Meantime, I'm googling this number and I find so many complaints about this group.  She FINALLY found my record, and I told her I'd paid the bill - it cleared my account on May 20th.  She said she didn't see it, and that she would give it a few days.  The funny thing is, I'd only received the bill in early May.  Strange that a collection type company would be calling??  

Anesthesia Medical professionals, DO NOT hire this company - they are a joke.  Very unprofessional, fishy, leaving vague pester type - calls ...... not even looking to see if the bill is even late!  

Legit or not, I had the same scenario a couple of days ago as several above but they said they worked for certified registered nurses association. I had to ask the young lady twice what the name of the company was she with because she rattled it off so fast. Then she hurriedly got off the phone. My insurance paid in full. So why do you have to use three or four different company names and how is it that if you are a legit company you don't have updated information such as payment rendered in full? If this company isn't a scam then they certainly present themselves that way.

Keep getting calls from them close to 10 p.m. at night.  I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, and I get messages from an incoherent woman (sounds stoned, honestly) mumbling something about anesthesia and that it is "very important I return her call."  We are already on a payment plan for all our anesthesia/medical bills, and that combined with the late night calls is uber shady, IMO.  

No we get the info from the hospital that you had the anesthesia performed.

I used to work there. The agent you got wasn't a very good one to be honest.

It's not referenced on the site because the number goes to agents who call on behalf of anesthesia companies, not abeo the company. They would have a separate phone number.

He didn't leave any info regarding to the call because according to HIPPA law we aren't able to release information on a patient until they verify their date of birth or zip code.

The number shouldn't have been out of service.

I used to work for the company, it's ABEO anesthesia billing. We would get cell phone numbers from "imaging" which were scanned documents from the doctors office so you must've put your cell on there. We call on behalf of the anesthesia company to get the bill paid before it goes to collections.

It wasn't shady, people just automatically assume we're trying to scam them.

It's because we call on behalf of like 50 anesthesia companies so it's meant to be general because we work for anesthesia companies from Texas all the way to Alaska.

The number is for Abeo. I used to work there. We called on behalf of anesthesia companies. It's a third party billing company, Fairbanks would have paid us to call on their behalf.

I received a call from the same number stated but the name they left was Metropolitan and like many of you we recently had a procedure done but for whom they are calling for no.... I am truly alarmed by this phone call and will do a lil more research before I call and give them any type of my information and I would say yall should prolly do the same.

I pay my anesthesia bill with them. I have an account through Mountain West Anesthesia. They bill for many states in the U.S. And for many anesthesiologist. If you don't already know, anesthesia is the medication given to you before you have surgery to fall asleep but in my case I had the epidural when I had my daughter which is still anesthesia. They are located in Sandy, UT and aren't a scam. I work at a hospital as a surgical tech and am familiar with this company and if you don't pay on your account you could go to collections. Got a call from this number claiming there was balance on my account of $75...  All previous bill for Anesthesia had come from Nashville, so I called the number on my bills and they told me there is no balance on my account and they don't recognize the number but are going to investigate and get back to me.  I am pretty sure I had paid everything associated with my recent medical procedure so its fishy...

I mentioned my place of employment because I was wondering how the caller was able to get my work number.

What has working for a government entity have to do with it?   4x redundant f****d up system.

I work for a government entity.  The caller left a message on my work phone stating his name was Christian from Mountain West Anesthesia.  He left the phone number 855-886-8567 and said their office hours were 3-10 p.m.  He made no reference as to the subject of his call.  When I called the number, I received a message saying the number was no longer in service.  I haven't used any anesthesia services in over 10 years.  Scam.  

Perhaps you are correct, but I am single, use the VA Hosp and also have Blue Cross for the past 10 years.  I know my bills and yet I get a garble message from them today also.

It's not a scam. They're a collection agency for different medical providers all across the country. They know your daughters name because you have unpaid medical bills for her. You need to pay her bills. Pick up the phone and talk to them or just pay your medical bills. If you can't pay workout a payment plan with them.

They called and left a message saying to call them back between 3-10 pm.  The person who left the message sounded off (slurring words etc) and the company name sounded fishy so I Googled it and everywhere says it is a scam.  Checked with company that really did provide anesthesia and they say all of the bill is paid in full.

Could be legit, but I'm not taking any chances as I got 'scammed' by this same situation a while back.  I called back to pay and Gabriel answered.  I offered my account number, but he said it was easier to bring me up using my phone number and name rather than the 6 digit account number.  I will be contacting the provider about any balance directly just to be sure.  I almost gave him my card number but something didn't feel right.  And he asked me twice to verify my birthdate.  Why would he need that to post a payment?  And why did he have to ask twice?  Be safe.  Contact your providers directly.

It's one big anesthesia billing company!! so if you or another family member has been to the hospital and received anesthesia for any reason you will most likely be getting a call from this company that is located in Salt Lake City, UT

Left message for "parent or guardian of [my daughter's name]". Said her name was Alicia calling from Texas Children Physician Service Organization and that it is very important I call her back.  Every place that turns up when I google the number, says it's a scam and all of them were told a different company name. I have not called back..but I will...only because I REALLY don't like that they know my daughter's name!

No message.  Very annoying!

I forgot to say in my report that we had already paid off all of our bills so we don't owe anything. They have to be scammers. I meant, they knew the balance of my anesthesia bill before we paid it off. I'm thinking they might be paying someone with access on the inside of legit companies for the info. Maybe a secretary or lower paid employee.

ABEO is a website that is not secure (not Https) and so also seems a bit shady to me.

Also, no reference anywhere on their website to have an affiliation with this number..

received call asking for insuracne and other personal info to process payment ASAP for $2070.00...for surgery a month back. Problem was they would not give me a name for the company other than "anesthesia billing" and when asked where were they located, he would not anser. Also, they had the surgery date wrong. It seemed shady from the get-go; all of our expenses were pre-authorized and direct payment arranged. Any bill should come via mail, not a phone call from some kid who sounds stoned on the phone. I asked for a name and call back number..this is the number I was given, and just a first name "Gabriel".

here is some advice for you that are confused. instead of googling the number, google: abeo; it's an anesthetic billing company.

I got a call from these people too on both my home phone AND my cell phone! I did have surgery too, but the thing is, I never give out my cell phone number to anyone that I don't know. I don't put it on hospital forms or anything like that. I want to know how these scammers got my account balance information and my cell number. Who do you call to complain? The doctor? The hospital? Obviously these scammers are either hacking or buying the info from employees at the hospitals. I don't know. I could be wrong on all that, but I am worried about how they got my information.
