No one gets a heads up they'll be served - the process server just shows up, unannounced. Scam callers and shady debt collectors use the "you'll be served at x time tomorrow" tactic to scare people into paying for bogus debts, debts that have already been paid or debts that they do not have the legal right to collect. Per the FDCPA, you should not pay any caller who refuses to MAIL - do not accept email or fax - proof that you owe a debt and proof that they can collect said debt.
