First of all they are not allowed to say civil case. law suit or attorney Before returning the call buy a tape recorder and record the whole conversation. Most likely they will violate the FDCPA(Fair Debt Collection Practices Act)! It costs nothing for an attorney and you can sue them and probably get a $1000 and maybe even ur debt cleared. Michael Kahn & Frank Shapiro are not attorneys!! They can do nothing to you. The only client that actually legitamately sues is Bank of America or Nu Island Partners. The rest is b*llsh*t! They can't do anything to you in regards to pay day loans they are illegal in most states of the US. The rest of the stuff they collect on is garbage that you don't even need to pay back b/c your over the time allowed. General time is 5-7 years. Varies depending on your state. Trust me sue them and make sure u record any conversations you have and save all voicemail messages!!! You'll definately get money!

I talked to Jack Burns or Fred Hurst they called to collect money and said they would file a  police report. Is this true?

I was called and waas not home so they left me a voice mail.  The lady's name was Rachel.  We set up a plan. After the 1st payment went thru I ran into some finacial problems and called to ask if they could push my payment back a couple weeks. I expalianed everything that was going on to the lady who answered the phone.  She was very nice.  She put me on hold for a few minutes, she said it was to see if she couuld do this. The next thing I know there was a mann who answered by the name of David.  He asked me what he could do gfor me?  I told him the same story.  He then became rude & i told him that he didn't have to be so ugly and he told me that he was not ugly and that he was quite attractive....then he told me that I was the one bein rude trying to talk over him.  It got heated from there.  He told me that this business was not in the business of being customer service.  Well I hung up on him.  I called right back a few minutes later and asked for Rachel.  The original person that I talked to and set my payments up with.  The girl aswering the phone ask who was speaking and I told her that I just needed to talk to Rachel.  Well she put me on hold and the David came back on the phone and asked why I hung up?  I told hinm that I wanted to talk to his boss and he tried to tell me that he was the manager.  I told him that I did not want to talk to him.  So after a few minutes he put me on hold.  Well someone else came on the phone and told me they were Rachel. (I know what she sounds like).  I told her the she wasn't Rachel.  She told me to quit playing games and I told her that she did not sound like the Rachel I had talked to earlier in the week. She said she had a cold. (You could plainly hear her and a few others laughing in the back ground.)  I told her that I wanted to talk to her manager and she told me thaty she was the manager.  She asked if I was going to settle tis or not.  I told her that I was only calling to make a complaint against the guy (well she cover the phone and said something to someone and then I heard several people laugh in the background).  I told her my story (which I had told to the others).  I thought that since she was so nice the last time I talked to her that she might be willing to help me out.  I don't believe that this lady tat I talked to today was Rachel.

I don't have any debts,so why they calling me?

I have been receiving harassing calls for several weeks on my home voice service from SRS. Suggestion to others: Save them and record them on a hand held device. You may need proof for when you sue them under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) look it up.  Each one of the calls say that if i don't call by end of day they will be forced to file suit with the State of NY. File WHAT? I have received nothing via US Postal service regarding this alleged debt. BTW: I DON?T OWE ANY DEBT - When I finally called to find out what the hell this was and to stop this nonsense, i was told they represented a Major Credit Card Co. I stopped them right there and told them, NO! The info was false, they screamed back at me and tried to get me to a settle on a $ amount. Then a 2nd call to them II asked them who they represented and I found out that it was someone different. Not the Credit Card Co. as previously told- but another collections agency. SRS is a 3rd party collections co.  A Real Scam.

Fortunately for me, I have the original letter dated 7 yrs ago from the original Credit Card Co., the original first credit collection agency's letter, and copy of the cashier's check (proof of payment.) But they kept talking over me and didn't want to hear this. Do not agree to anything! DEMAND that they send you the most recent "up-to-date" proof of debt from the original creditor - certified mail/signature required. They must do this by law! Under the federal fair debt collection law, consumers can ask for written verification of debts within 30 days of being contacted by debt collectors. Collection calls and letters must stop until the debt collector provides proof of the debt, but that "proof" is minimal:  the name and address of the original creditor.

Do not just go by a phone call and a "I say so", this is a scam. Don't fall for a just anyone calling with just a little bit of info fished out of your trash and demanding payment without proof.  Then check to see what the Statue of Limitations are in your home state they range anywhere from 3-10 yrs.  DO NOT AGREE TO ANY $ AMOUNT/DO NOT TALK MONEY - this automatically opens up any alleged old debt that you may or may not happen to have. Beware when they put you on hold, they're actually setting up your conversation to be recorded without your knowledge, they must tell ask your permission and tell them this- guarantee they hang up.  You should record your conversations at all times. Never give any additional information, if they ask you for your lawyers name and number ? DO NOT GIVE THIS either, you tell them he/she will be in touch with them.

These people have been calling my work every day. The first 2 weeks, there had been gentlemen with a Middle Eastern accent of some sort (Indian or Pakistani) asking for me, and actually said it was for a case, WHICH DUH, YOU CAN'T SAY LEGALLY TO A THIRD PARTY (morons). There are two known practicing attorney's with the name Epstein, and I could go on giving more information . .but I feel if I give more information the idiot FRANK HIRSCH will catch on if he's smart enough, and try trying something else. I received a call from an agent that was nice in the beginning until she found out I couldnt make a payment today. Her demenor became different, very angry, rude, disrespectful and talked over me. she then said she didnt have any regards to me, after I ask her to stop yelling over me. I wish to receive no more calls from these people. Sadly to say, I was willing to make out agreement or some sort.

They cant do that to you. All they are is a collection agency.  I worked there for almost 2 years and hate how they lie to people to make them pay. thats why I left them. Yes Dave and Kelli its me. They lie to people make you scare and you feel like you have to pay them. They also will take your credit card information and run a payment 2 to 3 days before it is do and will try to get payments on accounts that have been closed. THIS IS ILLEGAL and soon SRS and Associates will be shut down I will make sure of that!!!!! First do not pay anything until you get a copy of your credit report. Then check it make sure you owe this and get a lawyer Do Not Pay Them!!!! or gave them any account numbers. Also you will see on here some comments saying pay them I didnt and now owe alot of money or other smart comments to make them look good. Its them so dont be a fool. One more note they also use fake names like Frank Shapiro or Samantha Green they are fake names. these people are rippoffs.  I was stupid enough to give them money in oct 09 after they threatened i would be arrested.  they continue to call and threaten me without any action.  these people need a grand jury to stop the illegal practice they continue on many people per online research i have done.

frank sapiro made a call to my place of business from srs claiming he was not from a collection agencey i do not even know what this is about but all of my managers heard this threat from mr. sapiro and it was inbarasing, but i do have a copy of the phone message and i am turnning it over to my company lawyer. hopefully i will not hear from these peple again.

my father bounced a check and it was entered into this companies computer along with my cell phone number. I don't live with my father and we don't even live in the same town. I had not even known they had my number until I received a call from them since then I have received harassing phone calls about my father's debt and when I try to speak to a manager or file a complaint about the VERY disrespectful manner I am being addressed for something I have nothing to do with I am literally screamed at how dumb I am and how I need to speak with my father. My life has become a living hell filled with these phone calls, if someone could tell me how to stop them please do, they won't remove my number from the file.

"Joseph Jacobs" with SRS & Associates left me a voicemail to make "a decision on a disposition related to an issue with much ambiguity and depending on my response will determine if it will be made amicably based on me proactively reaching his office for a predacated debt lossage". He left the return number of 866-696-4188 and said "good luck" to me.  Talk about a lot of big words.  He was very smug and obviously trying to scare me.
