I spoke to Verizon directly about this and a few other sketchy calls I received. This phone number left a robot voice message on MY phones voicemail telling me to have my husband (who has this account under his name) call the number back in regards to changes made on his account. I thought this was weird that they wouldn't just call him directly. I told him about it. We confirmed we were all up to date on our bill and we made no changes. We decided to stop by Verizon (not a kiosk, but an actual store) and find out what the deal was. I was told Verizon will not call a customer about billing or changes. They either email or text you direct. This is a scam. The calls are from a cell phone.

Perish the thought you're 3 days late on your Verizon bill. They call you 3-4 times a day AND then they text you as well. This is overkill and absolute harassment. When you tell them that, they apologize as if they didn't know.

just hung up when I answered....annoying! ;(

I make all these numbers a "Do Not Answer" contact in my phone then I set the ringer for these contacts to silent/no ring.

For me no harrassing calls. Problem negated for now.

If Verizon does any business with this company the law recognizes that Verizon is responsible for the calls even if the main Customer Service Center "never heard of them".

Ok Verizon listen up! I pay my damn bill on time. I was late last month because I was away on vacation and paid this months bill on time.

I am being harrassed by 5 different numbers looking for payment; starting 2 days after my due date.

Please note the following:

1) I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know.
2) Your collection thugs do not leave messages
3) Each number they call with I put on a Do Not Answer list

Stop the calls or I will call the Attorney General's office and that is no threat.

I picked up one of these to see what the heck they are about.  The robovoice said it was Verizon with an important message (for a name completely different from mine - no one I've ever known).  I called Verizon via their regular CS number (note that I am not and never have been a Verizon customer) and was told that my phone number has NEVER been a Verizon number and therefore the calls could not be coming from them.

I suspect, therefore, that this is either a scammer unaffiliated with Verizon, or it's a collection agency working for Verizon and the agency entered the number for this person into their system incorrectly.  I'm so frustrated with all the calls from this number!

If you try to impersonate an FBI agent or office by saying that someone else should call the FBI Office in Albany and saying "we have been looking for you" it is a federal offense. Additionally, it is easy to tell you're not FBI - they don't make posts such as these and even if they were to, it wouldn't be with the horrible grammar you have shown in your post.

So you say you are a debt collector? Who you mind reporting yourself or calling to the FBI office in Albany by phone. We have been looking for you.

All the responses above claiming it is verizon are posted by the scammer. Do not reply. Just block this number in your phone. It is an ex-verizon employee who get the old list and is trying to get parts of your identity for a huge Identity theft scam.

got a call today there was no VM but I called the number back and its for an insurance company after a quick robtic voice a real person got on and told me they were looking for a man I don't even know. told the woman to take my cell# off the calling list and she said that it was done.

It is Verizon wireless company. They said they were trying to reach someone else when I called back.

Anyone knows who calls from this phone number.

This is like the 3rd page I have posted to. Everyone seems in agreement that this is Verizon's debt collection service-bot auto-caller. I missed this months payment, and within 1-2 days, I started getting calls from this number 2-3 times a day, and always with no VM. If you don't owe them money, or if you just don't want to be bothered, enter this number in your phone bank and set the ring tone to "silent", which is the next best thing to being able to block it.

Looking for someone not in my household. Furthermore, I have never been a customer of Verizon Wireless. I dumped VZ for my landline phone almost 2 years ago. I did not owe any money at the time I canceled.

I think this wrong name is a trick to get you to answer to tell them it's the wrong name and ask them to stop. Once they you have on the phone, they do their pitch and rope you in.

It could be a scam artist, which is not to preclude the possibility that VZ could be sponsoring the scam.

They just called my cell phone (which is with Verizon Wireless) and I have no idea why they're calling.   I just paid our bill in full last night online and it was only 2 days past the due day, so they definitely shouldn't be calling me!

dude they call again they will get something back jeez i hate calls i really do they dont know that they are stupid? Ughh oh well LOL <3 i will just have either my mom pay it or something :D

How insane are these people?

I read a statistic somewhere that more 80% of cell phone owners, who use their phones for personal use only, do not answer incoming calls from phone numbers they do not recognize and subsequently would not return the call if the number is not known.

Additionally these people never leave a message.

How do they ever expect to contact anyone?

My Verizon phone account is not past due, yet I get calls from this number as well, all times of the day, even weekends! It could be a third party they hire to see how you like your service or if you want to add a service. Anywho, I consider it a pain in in the neck and never answer it!

I returned a phone. Waiting for credit $199.99. Phone keeps getting shut off. They turn it on we will not let this happen again. Off & on just about weekly. My mother in her 90's is on my plan. She gets harassing calls.
