Now, I feel badly that I answered, cutting her off w/ "For God's Sake, I'm a registered Democrat ! Please leave me alone"   meaning "who else would I vote for".  At the time I was waiting for a callback from NStar re: an emergency and Markey campaign called exactly within the 7-10 time period to expect the call from NStar and they have called so many times it was bad timing this time...I just assumed that the Markey volunteers would understand that ,as a registered democrat, I'd be voting for him.

As someone who has volunteered at a political phone bank in the past, I can certainly understand both sides. I assume that the Markey campaign uses the same system as has been used previously, in which the volunteers are supposed to check the option "DO NOT CALL" if the person who answers indicates as such.  The computerized system is *supposed* to remove the number from the list, but there is clearly a bug somewhere - either a) the system does not work correctly, or b) some volunteers are not clicking the correct option.

I would simply ask anyone who is annoyed by these calls to please understand that these phone bank volunteers are just that - volunteers. They do the best they can, and do not wish to annoy anyone.  I can attest that it is actually quite nerve-racking to be the one making the call, and you can only hope that you will be greeted with someone willing to hear you out.  Please consider that the inconvenience of getting too many phone calls leading up to an election is minor compared to the consequences of that election, and these volunteers are doing the best they can to convey that importance to potential voters.  While many are well aware of the election schedule, I personally encountered several people whom I personally convinced to go out and vote.

I get them too. Look, as a registered Democrat and someone with a brain, they only need to remind me once, not 14 times. They're so sick of reaching my business they are no longer leaving messages lol.

Yup.  Its the **ED MARKEY Campaign**  for US Senate seat from Massachusetts.  Got their SEVENTH CALL today, Special Election Day (6/25/13) since April.  A 'volunteer' named  "ELAINE PRICE" asked for me BY NAME and tried to ask me if I voted today and that 'she hoped' I voted for Ed Markey.

I told her I had NOT voted - yet- and although I supported Mr. Markey over his rabid republican opponent, THAT I DID NOT WANT NOR APPRECIATE THE NUMBER AND FREQUENCY OF THESE CALLS.  CALLS LIKE THIS MAKE ME NOT EVEN **WANT** TO VOTE.

I GOT SIX DIFFERENT POLITICAL CALLS YESTERDAY!!!

I *know* these call are technically 'legal' BUT THEY ARE STILL UNWANTED and ANNOYING.  WHY do they think we sign up for the DNC LIST in the first place???

We'll see if HE responds if/when *WE* have an issue that we want HIS attention to.

7/25/13, 2:23pm. Went to Voice Mail, didn't leave message. Have been told it's Ed Markey campaign and I believe it. Different # calls nearly every day at different times. Not to mention the over the top snail mail I'm getting!

Recorded message to vote for Ed Markey. Went out and voted for Gomez. Thank you for reminding me to vote and annoying me enough with your stupid call to change my vote to Gomez. And now you've been added to my Call-Block list on my cell phone. Best little app on my cell phone.

This number keeps calling, when I picked up, they hung up almost every time! One time they actually talked to me, the woman said she is calling for Ed Gomez for congress man.  She couldn't even get the name of the running party right, then stuttered and hung up! Very annoying!  Called again tonight at 8:30, then hung up as soon as I picked up!!!

Called AGAIN June 7 (Friday night) and YET AGAIN tonight, Fri. 6/14.  I wish they'd GET THE MESSAGE that we are NOT INTERESTED and WILL NOT ANSWER and will HANG UP ON THEM if we are home.

This number called and asked for my wife by name, and then hung up on me when I said she wasn't available..

Just received a call. The female voice didn't even say hello, but asked for a relative by his first name. I informed her that person she asked for didn't live with us. It was a political call. They call people and cannot even get their names right....Very annoying.

Called at **8:30PM** on a Friday night.  NO NAME/ID; just the number displayed. We weren't home. HA HA.  Didn't leave a message.  I'm considering BLOCKING this number to prevent further intrusions.  

I agree with "Ken"; we HATE these calls NO MATTER WHOM calls and what they want.  "Do Not Call" means JUST THAT; I don't CARE what the 'exemptions' there are in the law!

I just got a call from this number. The caller ID said "unknown name". The person identified himself as a volunteer for the Ed Markey campaign. I resent getting such calls, no matter who the candidate is.

Called and didn't leave a message.  Probably a political campaign call.
