JD 2014-01-23 20:11:06 Unknown
Received the same offer from ASInc. (Advance Services "workforc Solutions) with an address of 12526 High Bluff Drive, Suite 300 San Diego, CA 92103 They list their phone # as 7602694025 but the call came in from 417-800-2515 Same story I asked for something in writing because I was not in a position to do any business over the phone and I needed to speak with my husband.
Here is what I received via e-mail
Attached: Rental Agreement
Greetings! This is Sally Garcia ? one of the TimeShare Account Consultant from Advance Services, that you ?ve talked too. I would like to inform you that we do have different client groups who commissioned our company & want to rent at thousands of locations in North America. They do have a regular transaction with us since we?re on Destination Handling Services. For every reservation that they?re making, they really need unused weeks or points that could be traded, that is why you received a call from us because we?re calling a lot of timeshare owner just like you, simply asking for your unused weeks to rent out.
Now, we DON?T have an UPFRONT FEE for our services. Our fee is paid for by our clients themselves. Another thing is, the group offers to reimburse your maintenance fee because in the past, we?ve had problems renting from clients who haven?t paid their fees. So, in order to make sure your weeks will be available for them, they are happy to give the Maintenance Fee Allowance as well to help you offset your Maintenance Fee costs for the year, since they would be the one using it.
The way this work is very simple. First, I would like to know if how you would like to do the reservation? If you would like us to help you secure or pull out your weeks/points available to have it exchange to the location where our group will be having their convention, so that we can confirmed you within 24 hours and for us to provide you within 24 hours the confirmation of the Reservation Exchange No. We?ll be giving/sending you also everything so that you will have it in one email copy for your records.
Premier International Exchange Company- the one that we partnered, they don?t have business into a consumer?s level, but they do masters in exchanging or trading. Just like RCI/ Interval, but the only difference is that we can guarantee you that everything will be refunded or be back to you. You will be receiving a 100% GUARANTEED REFUND POLICY-stating that if for any reason whatsoever, the rental did not go through, due to a natural disaster or anything whatsoever, you would simply receive the money back within 2-3 business days.
Take note that our group will be paying you one month in advance before they gonna use your weeks for their upcoming convention. The check will be sent to you via Federal Express, a certified check issued by Bank of America. Please find the attached computation of the rental check.
You don?t have to worry. We?re not going to charge you yet. We?ll be giving you a callback for the best time to charge or debit you because we have to process first the rental and the pull out of your weeks/points available to your For your exchange fee, you are the one responsible for that. The exchange co. that we partnered prefer to use a credit card simply because of the accounting procedure. On your next credit card statement, you will see clearly marked one time charge only as proof of your exchange fee, but again, they will call you first confirming you first your assigned Reservation Exchange Number, and asking for your consent if you?re allowing the said charges (exchange fee) which is 100% money back guarantee, before they gonna charged you. You will not gonna pay us any single penny here, if you want to do the reservation by yourself. If your decision of getting the reservation is thru our exchange company that we partnered ? Premiere International Exchange, they will ask me how would you want to handle for the Exchange Fee? They do need really your confirmation for that. You may do the reservation with our exchange company thru the information of your credit card, debit card or any walmart card- but again they will not gonna charge you yet. They may need your confirmation or assurance of interest to rent out not just for your by saying so, but That is the USUAL BASIC of what you will need to make a CONFIRMED TRANSACTION!
Please be informed also that your Timeshare stays in your name until & after you have received the check. What happens is you will received the check (1) One Month in advance before the convention or conference of the group. The Safeguard we have in place so that you can rest easy is that we won?t actually guest pass our group, until after you?ve been paid, because about one week before the convention, you will be also receiving a call from your resort confirming you the guest pass and finalize everything with you directly?that?s AFTER you?ve been paid, so there?s No Confusion!
Looking forward to hear from you soon! If you have any questions, let me do my job as your timeshare consultant. Thank you and God Bless!
Ms. Sally Garcia

i just got a similar phone call also saying they are needing time share weeks for the meinhardt engineering business convention in cancun for this august 2013!!! i researched the company they said they were 'a new branch of advance serives'. i called them and they said they had no such branch and nothing in nevada! i was told to cancel my cc and call the police. i did but the local police won't even file a report since the charge hadn't gone onto my cc yet. that company also told me to report it to the Federal Trade Commission. which i did and i asked if they would be investigating. they said it goes into their data bank and if they see a 'trend' they will follow up. so PLEASE everyone, call the FTC # 877- 382- 4357. so they will see a 'trend' and put a stop to this nonsense!! it's so upsetting and now i have to get a new cc too!

I also got a call from Advanced Services on April 18th. Did not get the number they were calling from but they gave me a call-back number: 702-726-9143. Same story about Meinhardt Engineering Group having a conference in Cancun this coming June. Were offering me $3,600 for my timeshare so that it could be traded for a timeshare in Cancun. They never did fully explain what I was supposed to do. Supposedly I am to get an email from Meinhardt in the next 10 days with details. Tried to get as much info as I could but suspected it as a scam. Sounded fishy. The "telemarketer" sounded like she was reading off a script and couldn't answer any of my "off script" questions. Claimed her name was Catherine Young (Yung?).

I got a call from 323 244-2134 with the same thing. They wanted to pay me $3,600 plus $700 maintenance fee to Meindhart Engineering Group. Her name was Kyla Torres and she works for Advanced Services out of Las Vegas. The convention in Cancun is supposedly occurring June 4-11. So, the scam goes on and on and on!

It's a bit hilarous. They've been calling to an app I have where all I can recieve are text. It's a text app.

call from 303-912-8368, global Destinations, callback 530-217-6051. same timeshare spiel for a Cancun engineers convention, $3600, etc. Got to be a scam.
Beth 2012-07-31 23:55:05 Unknown
I also got a call from someone from Destination Services out of Sacremento, CA, offiering the $3600 plus $700. I Googled the name, and I can't find anything but these posts. How did you find out it was a scam?
Canada Senior 2012-07-10 18:28:35 Unknown
I received several phone calls from the same number (530-217-6051), from Destination Services, LLC - 49 Lincoln hi-Way, Sacramento, CA 95811, offering to pay me $3600 plus Timeshare Fee, plus exchange fee, etc. to a total of $4350.00 USD to rent our timeshare vacation to the MEINHARDT ENGINEERING GROUP for a conference at the Marriott in Cancun, Mexico in Oct. 22-29, 2012. Sure sounded enticing with all the details, but sure glad I checked them out before making any agreement! Looks like it is part of a huge scam! Not sure how they benefit except there is mention on an agreement sent by email of PAYING [Quote - "The owner must pay an exchange fee of $ 199.00 per week for processing of the Exchange / Reservation" and "The renter and owner both acknowledge that there will be a local transient occupancy TAX assessed at the time of check-in at the resort which is the responsibility of the Meinhardt Engineering Group"] No idea how much that last amount might be and I'm not sure the Engineering Company knows about it either. The Engineering Company looks legitimate, but the "broker" certainly does not. My Timeshare company does not allow it "rentals"...thankfully! Hope this is helpful to someone else who might be wondering about the same or similr offer.
Got info from caller... 2012-02-24 16:48:16 Telemarketer
After 9 or 10 calls, I called local police to see they had any info. (Had a total of 14 calls in less than 3 days.) They said they'd look into it. Couple hours later, call came again. I hesitated but picked it up. Guy with accent (India???) answered. Admitted he was at a call center when I said too much background noise. Went into his spiel and I played along. Someone was going to pay me $3600 to rent my timeshare (which I don't own) from May 21 to 28th for a "conference".
I don't know where they bought their name list from, but he did know my name even though I'm on DNC list and the phone is not listed in my name.
I asked and he gave me the name, address and phone number of the company for which he was calling----Global Destination Services, 49 Lincoln Way, Sacramento, California 95603. Phone # 530-217-6051. I thanked him for the info, told him never to call again, and that I'd contacted police.
Stupid guys called me again less than an hour later.

16 calls today, and the same thing as others here - if I answer there's no one there, if I call back it says it's a bad number. Isn't there anything we can do to make them stop? Someone that we can report this to?

SH 2012-02-23 18:43:42 Unknown
Have gotten calls from 857-916-5437 several times a day for a couple of weeks now. Caller ID says Massachusetts. They've never left a message. We don't know anyone in MA, but calls were so persistent that I did answer once -- no one there. I even tried re-dialing the number but got a recorded message that the number was invalid.

Called this morning. Phone rang really weird--one very long ring instead of its usual series of rings. I did not answer (given the strange way my phone rang). Caller ID said "Massachusetts".
MIKE 2012-02-21 13:36:39 Unknown
PLEASE MAKE IT STOP
Keith Miller 2012-02-21 02:11:01 Unknown
The above # keeps calling me.....no one there when I answer and I can't call to see who it is. How do I get them to stop calling me?
3-4 per day 2012-02-20 22:16:39 Unknown
I get this one, then a follow-up from an Oregon number offering me reduced rates on my credit card. This number always hangs up, the other is only a recording
tickeoff 2012-02-15 19:15:48 Unknown
Same as everyone else in this string.... this number calls many times a day, no one on the line. No one has suggested a way to get it to stop??????
