Caller calls and when answered, no one replies.  Leaves no message.

This is a company that does market research studies.  The caller's name is Betsy Johnson and leaves a call back number of 1-800-797-4947.  I couldn't understand the name of the company.

I am on the do not call list but receive one or two calls every day from this number.

man on other end said "sorry wrong number" when i indicated that he had called a business.

Oct. 2008, two calls - one Sat 11, 4 PM (man); next Sun 12, 5:58 PM (woman). Both said name of a "market research firm" - didn't catch name. Asking Louisiana residents about health topics. I used my best technique - I sounded eager, saying "Sure!" then I put down the phone and returned to what I was doing. Minutes later the phone made a disconnected sound and I hung up and got the callback number (*69 on my phone). This is the best technique - put the phone down and they keep talking. It wastes their time which means it burns their money. They will son take your number off their list. Works much better than asking to be taken off.

They called my 83-year-old mother every five minutes on 10/13 (5 calls)  They called once on 10/9, on 10/10 and on 10/11.  She does not answer.  The number says "Market Research."  She didn't save the messages, so I don't know what they say.  It's upsetting because she can't rest with this harassment.

I was off it today. I usually don't answer, but said "let me see what this is." They had my name and said they was doing research from U of M College, that's in Michigan. I answered the questions and turn to get information from her,I usually do that first, and received a click. I'm trying to check all out.  They are not with Michigan's nor California's BBB, Better Business Bureau.  The Customer Protection line, 619-533-5600, is closed right now, M-F 9-11am and 1-3pm, so I can't guide you through that, but it's the next step.

The number called four times from 6:33pm to 9:38pm last night. I tried to remove my number from their website but kept getting invalid security code. I think they have rigged their codes NEVER to accept a confirmation of removal. There is even no reason to have a code just to have one's number removed. Just another delay tactic to either get you to call them or give up.

No messages, just twice or three times a week  call

This number is showing on our caller id.  I went to their website to have my number removed, and when I printed the form BEFORE hitting the remove button, the code changes on the printout (but not on the screen).  When I hit the remove button, I get an invalid security code message.  It went through if I DIDN'T print the page before I submitted.  I guess they don't wnat you to have proof that you did, in fact, unsubscribe!

I never answer my hone phone unless I'm EXPECTING a call, and am very choosy who I give the number to. I have the house phone for emergencies only because cell coverage is bad where I live. When it rings, it's always a telemarketer (despite enrolling in the do not call list). This number calls me at least twice a day, and always at the same times in the evenings. I have answered in the past, and can tell that it's a telemarketer because there is always a long pause before a person begins to speak.

They're dialing in on my work number. Every evening, between 6 - 7 p.m. for the last couple of weeks, an obnoxious someone at this number rings in. They ring about 5 times, then hang up.  I've never picked up, and my work phone has an unusual number ID system, so I've gotten no identifying names.

I just got called by these people too. My caller ID also said Research Center. I didn't answer. What I did do is add the number to my "CALL SCREENING" list. It's a service offered by the phone company (AT&T) that prevents calls from the numbers on your list from ringing through. They get a recoded message that says, "We're sorry. The party you are calling is not accepting this call. Thank you." Nicer probably than I would be but it seems to work. As soon as I add one of these annoying numbers to my call screening list, the calls stop.

We got a call from 858-364-1161 on 8/14/08.  I answered and they asked for me when said speaking they hung up on me.

I got a call from this number on 08/07/08 at about 7:00pm and they said they were a research firm doing a survey about voters in my area.  They first asked for my month and year of birth and then my likelyhood of voting in the November election.  They asked if I was driving, which I was on a very windy mountain road, and asked to call me back later in the week since they are not allowed to talk to people who are driving.  Before I let them go, I asked them who contracted them to do the poll since I wanted to know if the questions were going to be skewed to one side of the issue.  I then asked the name of the company he is calling from.  All he knew were the initials of the company, BPN, three names like a law firm and that he thought the first name was Betts (maybe one T).  He also sayed he was out of Grand Rapids, MI, but the number is a SOCAL number.

After days of calls which I never answered, I went to www.diresearch.com/donotcall.htm in order to be removed from their call list. After hitting send, this popped up: "DO NOT CALL - CONFIRMATION.
