It's AT&T Universal Card Fraud department. They were investigating some fraudulent charges on my card. For me, this was a legitimate call.

Received a text from this number saying that we had a fraud alert on our Citibank card. The only problem is we don't have a Citibank card. Looks like a scam.

Keeps calling and text says from Fraud Department with CitiCard. I do not have any credit card with them.
Bad company

Got a text message asking me to call this number. I checked the number online and saw these posts. I called the number on the back of my credit card and yes, there was fraudulent activity on it.
jordan 2013-06-24 19:56:46 Unknown
don't even have these credit cards
Sceptical but.... 2013-06-22 14:19:54 Unknown
This was a universal card fraud alert however, I called the main customer service number and not 8003938903 just to be safe. Caught over 3K in fraudulent charges!
p.s. also received a text alert

Well you did better than I did. I called AT&T and was put through to the Fraud Dept and the lady that I spoke with quite frankly was a rude bi***. She acted like it didn't matter one way or the other to her. I hung up and reported her attitude to customer relations, who didn't act too excited about it either.

This is NOT a phishing call. This call comes from ATT Universal Card fraud dept. I just received one immediately after a fraudulent charge was made to my credit card. I called back through a different line to verify that it was the credit card company, checked my acct online and sure enough, a fraudulent charge had been placed on my account. Account was immediately discontinued and new cards sent along.

I received email, text and voice mail from this number. I did not respond to any of them. I call the number on the back of my card and it was confirmed they were all legitimate. Someone had fraudulently used my card. Now my card is being cancelled and a new one is being issued.

No. NOT really AT&T. I do not have either of these cards and suddenly I am getting calls from AT&T and texts from Citibank. Anyone telling you otherwise, wants to phish for your number. I've reported the spam to my phone company and put the numbers both in my blocked calls. Problem solved.

(800) 393-8903 calling...
Reading this is funny. I don't have either of these cards and I am suddenly getting calls from AT&T and texts from Citibank. Anyone saying this is legit, is full of it. It's reported to my phone provider and blocked. Problem solved.

12/29/2012 - Like others before, suspect it is the AT&T Universal card (Citi Bank) Fraud Department automated phone notification system (which has never successfully delivered a message to me). It is my experience that this Fraud Department appears to measure their success not by catching bad guys; but by how much they can inconvenience and harass Citi-bank card holders. This ?fraud department? appears to be a pretty incompetent group. Two days before I traveled, I logged in to their Web page and logged my intended travel plans. They still went berserk when I made a charge while on travel. Then, today, even though I called in and cleared their complaint/problems, their stupid, dysfunctional automated phone thing has been calling all day today.

Got annoying call from this number (800) 393-8903. Left no message
mphelps 2012-05-09 14:35:55 Unknown
Not phishing. It's for a Citi AT&T card. They had a recent fraud problem and issued a lot of customers new cards. They're trying to let everyone know who was effected (including me).

This is probably a legitimate inquiry from CitiBank (who also handle the ATT universal Cards). Instead of calling that number, call the 800 number on the back of your card. They questioned a $3.00 charge from a company name they didn't recognize, even though it was a legitimate charge. The only challenge was understanding the customer service guy "Nigel" from somewhere near Mumbai.

It really is the ATT Universal-Citi Bank Card fraud department. I rarely use this card but had made a few transactions on it. One was actually to a company that stores my computer info in the "cloud" but it came across as Information Retrieval Services which triggered a fraud alert on my account. When I went online, my CitiBank account also had a message to call re my account. I was required to only verify that I had made the charges, not any other info beyond whether or not I knew where my credit card was and the name on the card.

When I read the posts from other people here, I called the 800 number on the back of my ATT Mastercard. Good thing I did, as there had been suspicious activity on my card at 8:00 this morning at a hotel in PA. I'm in WA State, so no way could it be me making the charge. To anyone out there, I suggest you call the number on the back of your card to clear up any chance you have the same thing. I hate unsolicited calls just as much as anyone else, but in some cases, they are necessary. The charge made this morning was only $3 and change, but the girl I spoke with said scammers will make a test charge to see if the card is good before making a large purchase. You might want to check with ATT to make sure you're card number isn't being used by someone other than yourself.

It is from Citibank who has my ATT Universal card. There was some unusual activity on my account which proved to definitely be fraudent charges. I called the number on my online account and was able to get my card cancelled since no message was left from the 800 number. They also sent me an e-mail saying they were trying to get ahold of me.

I forgot to mention, Citi Bank services the AT&T Universal MasterCard as well as other branded credit cards. I believe this is why some posters identify this as AT&T and not Citi Bank.

I received a text message from 95686 asking me to call 800-393-8903 and enter a 7 digit pin. The message indicated it was from Citi Cards Fraud Dept. I did not trust the text message so I logged into my Citi Card account and called the Citi Card Fraud number (a different number) listed on the web site. After entering my account number the automated system said there had been unusual activity on my account and turned me over to an associate. After verifying my identity I was able to confirm the charge was indeed mine. I had ordered voIP service from a Canadian provider. Since I'm in the U.S. this was a red flag. Understandable. My advice -- don't simply take text messages at face value. In this case it was legit, but it could easily have been a scam. If you get a similar text from this company or another, call a known good telephone number on your card or on the company's web site to be sure you're not getting scammed.

keeps calling - no message. When I called back - automated message doesn't id their company - indicates they are a message center and to enter my card number? which card?
Sure. 2011-06-06 20:57:42 Unknown
Obvious voice phishing attempt. Do not answer.
JR 2011-06-06 20:57:42 Unknown
I got the same thing - AT&T Fraud. Weird thing is, I don't have a AT&T Card...
Lee 2011-06-06 20:57:42 Unknown
I just got such a call.
For me it was the AT&T Universal Mastercard fraud prevention hotline. They called because there was an unusual charge on my credit card. I called AT&T back on the phone number on my AT&T credit card and yes, there was a question about an unusual charge.
paul 2011-06-06 20:57:42 Unknown
Left message saying they were from AT&T, but I don't think so ???
