Got a call from 858-391-4100 at 6:04 EST today. Caller ID labeled it "Research Center." Caller said they were from "Directions and Research". When I asked what specific company he was calling from he merely repeated "Directions and Research" and told me he was doing a short survey on security breaches. I asked him what kind of security breaches and he told me personal and financial related. He told me there would be no confidential information asked, which got me suspicious--that WAS what he had been referring to in the first place. When I told him I was declining to answer his questions since I didn't feel comfortable doing so, he insisted that it was very important I answer. Annoyed, I finally gave the phone to another family member, who asked them the same clarifying questions I had asked plus a few more, and then said goodbye and hung up.

I keep receiving calls from this 858-391-4100 number. I think they got my number from a police report when I had an accident about a month ago. Since I don't recognize the number, I won't answer the call and they don't leave a message, either. Would love to know how to get rid of them!

I keep getting calls daily from 858 391 4100 at various times during the day. No one says anything, it is always busy. I don't know who it is or why they call. I am reporting it to the FCC.

Called like 10 times last night 5 minutes apart! Blocked the number two days ago! The phone still rings once when they call! So today I called the number back and it had no message!

Called at 8:39pm, no message.  Caller ID said "Research Center".

After missing about 5 of their calls last week, I was able to answer today. A woman told me it was a national  marketing research survey calling about direct tv. I told her to remove this number and not to call again. We will see.

This is a robocall; so, do what I did and go to nomorobo.com and Stop Robocalls.

Kept on getting calls from this number.  Never answered and no messages.  Going to block it.

They call me 1 to 3 times a day (even on week ends). This has been going on for a month or so. I don't answer and they don't leave me any message.

Second call since 26 Jan.  When I picked up, I heard a woman say HELLO and then hung up.....really irritating....WHY are so many of us being pestered?!!!!!

I received several calls from this number. I am in Wisconsin and not in an area served by Comcast. I was getting up to 75 of these cold calls a day. I purchased a new phone that allows the phone itself to store 1000 numbers. It also provide the option to block the call. If I get three calls from a number like this I block it. Thereafter the phone screens the number and disconnecs the call after 2 rings. A total of 14 numbers accounted for most of the problems. At first they try calling back but stop after 1 or 2 tries. The call log let's me know when the calls come in and that they were bloced . I suppose that if I get to 1000 blocks number I could erase the ones no longer calling and block new numbers that are actively calling. It is sad that I needed to in cure this expanse ($59) for a new phone but it eliminated the majority of the problems. On a different subject. I never answer any unknown caller. My phone answers all calls. If I don't know the caller I do not answer. No message left or a political message or a fishing message (something like you won this out that or we can lower your credit card debt, "If you will only give us all your financial information" it I blocked the first call.

Second consecutive day I received a call from this number....Phone rang once....no message.  I wish they'd stop calling.

Caller ID says Poway CA.  I called number back after numerous occasions of them calling each of our business lines.  Was dead air for the longest time, then a canned message calling themselves Directions & Research stated the reception desk was closed and that if you needed assistance to press #...I pressed #...it said if you know your party's extension dial it now..or dial the first three letters of the last name you are trying to reach...I took a shot and pressed random keys (M-A-T)..actually got someone live!! Asked what they do, she said they are a marketing & research company. I asked "what kind of research company places random calls and hangs up when answered...how is that research??"  Then asked for our number to be removed because we are a business and don't wish to participate in anything they are "researching".  She asked what number, I said, "Check your caller id, I'm sure it's listed there...now remove it please." and I hung up.

Called on 1/12/14 @ 12:23pm and left no messages ...

they call almost every day any time an ddont leave message,
I see on  caller id its research center I wont answer it

it calls me exactly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and sometimes on the weekends at 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, and on the weekends it calls me at 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm within 15 to 30 minutes is used to call me ... now its starting at every 4 hours calling me I did get it during the month of Nov & Dec 2013 at every 30 minutes to 1 hour of nonstop calls from Poway, CA on the weekends would call me at 3am and yes it is a scam trying to download viruses /or downloading stuff from your Android cell phones information ...

A male called me from this number and refused to give me his name.  He started to ask me about how many children live in my house.  I interrupted him, affirming that I am on the "do not call list."  He again asked my questions about children and refused to give me his name.  I will report this to DNC list.

Call comes in and they leave no message. Call came in again I picked up ask what was my name and I ask what was it he had a thick accent he kept asking what was my name and I reply is it research and again he saying my name and he said we have an offer you can not refuse you been award it $9,000.00 and I hung up ... right there it told me my inner tuition not good hang up. Have to be careful the longer u stay on the phone with them the longer can do damages to your cellphone and download your information from your Android, cellphone, from any landline /or cellphone ... people like this avoid talking /or picking up their calls ... also I have notice since I changed my name on my cellphone and I have a new prompt it says like Scammers NOT interested in any of your calls and u are been redirected and your calls are been traced, recorded to the Attorney General, FBI, CIA and I will press charges to the fullest extent of the law. Today I had only 2 calls in the whole day since 12/31/13 ...

Have been receiving calls from 858-391-4100 for the past 3 weeks!  It is SO annoying!  Caller ID shows Poway, CA...will not leave any messages!  Gosh, don't they get the hint???  WE don't want you calling us!  We're not interested in what you're selling/promoting/surveying...Leave me alone!!!!!

I think this is one of those outfits whose 'Do Not Call list' is reset every week since they called back after being told not to

They have now called 12/11, 12/12, 12/15. Leave no message.

Three calls past 2 weeks from ?Research Center"..Cannot understand - broken English- something about Microsoft and my computer has been hacked??  Not sure...very persistant in conversation....Told him not to call again..we will see!

Same here-they called again-different woman. I told her 'I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL HERE!' She replied 'oookay' and hung up! I'm almost completely certain these people are NOT exempt from the list (aka non-profit or political)!
