Drove up and saw a Hispanic man standing by a bunch of garages with a clip board in his hand  with a grin on his face and a name tag hanging from his shirt.

When he left we went to open our door and saw a pink notice (looked like a cheap post a note without the sticky) on the door.  We looked around and noticed the same pink notice on other neighbors doors.  It said "for You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit.  Sorry We Missed You"

I was suspicious so I came here to see if any one had put the same info up.  Only difference is the color of the notice green is now pink.

I got a call offering free carpet cleaning (one room only). I said it seemed too good to be true, but they assured me it was for promotion and advertisement purposes. Curiously they asked what type of vacuum cleaner I use, which supports the post that claims they sell Kirby vacuums. When I questioned them, they said the name of the company was "Blue Hot, their number 858 565-1405, and that they have a business license and insurance, so I agreed. But a Google search didn't list them. Instead, I found this site, so I promptly canceled the appointment.

Got a knock on my door today. I did not open my door because there was a man who looked like a gang banger outside it. When I didn't answer, he left a flier on my door. It read:

Do not call this. It is a scam. The man on the other side of my door had nothing with him, yet he was supposed to be delivering a "Basket of Fruit".  Also, the phone number is for a business in San Diego, but the flier was placed in North San Diego County. Too far for a fruit basket delivery. SCAM!!!

Received the note about the fruit basket in Clairemont area today.  The number on the note was 858-565-1405.  I didn't call since I did my research first.  I was only out of the house for 20 minutes, but I sure was glad I missed whoever it was that left the note.

So annoying!! Ive dealt with these people while in Michigan, and now here in cali! today i get a stupid notice that i have a free gift basket..and thank goodness i know better! Its amazing NO SOLICITING MEANS nothing anymore! I hated the Kirby we bought 20 years ago!!

Got a sheet on the front porch today. They are currently putting them around the Poway, CA area. Seems to be a gimmick. thanks for all the post above

Yea, them Kirby people are crooks!  They sent a "high school student" who was cleaning carpets for free.  The poor kid begged and said he was doing this for a scholarship.  Later they sent over other people to clean my carpet and tried to sell me the Kirby.  Little did they know, I was already ripped off by them years before. They cleaned my carpet and then I told them I already had a Kirby.  You should have seen the look on the person's face.

Same thing here... My husband called me and told me about the notice... Since I do gift baskets regularly with Edible Arrangements, I know better than this scam... I know that the company delivering the goods needs a phone number for the person who they are delivering too so after I googled the number and read all of these posts, I knew I was right in thinking it was a scam.... A- Holes!!!

They're in South Park, San Diego, today.  Got the little green slip of paper from "Best Company Promotions" saying "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit Sorry We Missed You" wedged into my screen door.  Won't call them now...

I just called the number seeking employment as the y posted an ad on craigslist.org. I called at 9 AM. I asked the name of the company. The receptionist said "The Best Store". I was instructed to call back at 9:30 AM if I had questions regarding what the job entailed (as the craigslist ad only stated you had to be able to lift 25-35 pounds).

I called back at 9:30 and was told I would have to schedule an interview for later in the afternoon if I had any questions about the company and/or products they were trying to sell.

I asked the receptionist: "You can't even tell me what the job title or duties would be?"

She said, no, she was not LEGALLY allowed to do so, and that I would have to schedule an interview.

I've never had any job tell me they couldn't LEGALLY tell me what the job was.

I said to her "So you want me to take time out of my day and spend money on gas for a company that refuses to even state what they do or what product they're trying to get out to consumers?"

She replied: "I have four people on hold right now and don't have time for this."

I told her she was a f****ng idiot and hung up.

I got the same green paper on my front door. I also called at 8:20 am and there was no answer. so, I searched the internet for the phone number and found this webpage. Those telemarketers are very sneeky.

this happened in Carlsbad, California.
