I, too, received a phone call directing me to call 858-764-1975, even though the caller I.D. showed a 415 phone number (which is San Francisco and I live about 20 miles south of the city).  I had purchase download-able (is that a word?) software for $35.  That is exactly what my credit was charged.  Plimus is just a payment receiving company.  They are not out to scam anyone, they just collect payments for companies that sell over the internet. (No, I an not in any way affiliated with them.)

I think it is kind of an unusual way to handle transactions, but, it does allow the credit card holder to know if their credit is being used fraudulently.  However, they should wait until the customer has confirmed the purchase via the return phone call before charging the credit card!!!

This number belongs to a CC processing company that spams the "Watch over 3000 channels from your computer" things.  I got it to test out these claims, and the number was to verify my charge.  Now trying to get a hold of somebody at this number was a chore.

HERE'S THE RUB.  The 858 mumber belongs to some call center.  My caller ID gave me 408-492-9186 and was an automated tracking vru.  I was able to confirm my order from this number.  Strange.

yes plimus is scam they return all my sales to clients, total negative balance is over 1k usd now they email me to pay the negative balance, but why? they should email to customer who payed the amount not me, they are payment processor so they are responsible for it, not the seller using their system. it is my big regret that i use plimus, now i dont know what happen after this negative amount to plimus.

My daughter ordered the game Virtual Villager for $19.98 and Plimus was the company who took the payment.  She placed the order at 9pm cst but it showed the order was placed at 6am.  They called my work number to confirm the order.  Sounds like from some of your posts that there is something strange going on, but I haven't had a problem with them.

my son is oversea in the Maines, I received a computer voice call from this plimus asking for us to call back, the same number as most of you, located in SD CA.  4084929186, I did not call, I checked my sons account and it had already been charged for $18.  I am still trying to see if he oredered anything, I think this is a fraud either way, they want you to dial in your credit card number, even though they are not a credit card agency...  SCAM!!!

I have just wondered why I was charged under 858-764-1975, It was because I ordered a software Allway Sync and Plimus.com collected the payment for them. Nothing is wrong.

My credit card was charged in US$90.95 with the description PLI*FRAPS and 858-764-1975. I never bought anything at plimus, and I´m going to block my card and request refund. I live in Brazil and usually buy online, but only at secure sites.

Yesterday I received a voice mail that an on-line order in the amount of $29.00 was placed at 6:33 am (while I was asleep). The voice mail was generated by computer and asked me to call this number to "confirm" my order with the reference number given in the voice mail.

Last night I typed in this phone number in Google and found the above report. Thanks to this report. Today I called my credit card company and was told the $29.00 had been approved to be paid to Plimus.com even thought I have not called them to "confirm" the "order". I don't know how they got my name, phone number and credit card number. I already asked my credit card company to close my current account. Everyone be careful!

I did not get a call from these people but I have a charge on my account from them for $55.94. This is one of those scams for work from home. The website I used was mintjobs.com and it was a 30 day money back guarantee but when I saw that it wasn't what was advertised I tried to contact them to get a refund and at first it looked like they were going to refund it with no problem. But then I got an email a couple of weeks later reminding me that I was going to be charge so I emailed them again and was told I was emailing the wrong place (although it was the same email address as before) then I got and email telling me to do this and that..anyway it was all a big run around to the point that the last email I got was saying that my 30 days was up so they couldn't refund it. They purposely gave me the run around so that they could say that. And when you try to call the number on the credit card statement it is just another automated thing that tells you to press this then that..but you NEVER get anyone and eventually will just hang up. That company is called Plimus.com Also the emails I got from them were really rude..like they were trying to make you so mad that you would give up on the refund. Which at this point I don't know what will happen I am disputing it thru my credit card company. SO EVERYONE BE CAREFUL..I learned the hard way.
