Yep, it just happened to me five mins ago.  Aggrevating!!!

Well they're doing it again. Cox cable is calling me and hanging up when I answer. AGAIN. Take note of my previous response above. If they weren't the only high speed internet here in Omaha,Ne I'd tell them where to shove it. (Ironicly a week after I posted the last one, I dropped my services from them for 6 months, and got a rediculously good deal, or I would not have come back)

They call you and hung up when you say hello, this is highly irritating especially for people like myself who use pay per minute phones. I already have internet service through them, they should treat their customers a little better.

I called the number back and they gave me great deal on new services...actually happy they called they saved me money

Qwest IS the phone company, therefore they own ALL the phone lines in town.  Cox is leased (or something like that) the use of some of the phone lines owned by Qwest.

I had help from 1 of Cox's tech  the day before and was asked about my telephone, intern et,and TV. If I wanted to increase it. The answer was "NO" It was 4:30p.m. Thursday. when I received the call.

got a call at 1pm today 6/10/11 they only let it ring 3 times, no voicemail. Called back and it was the desk number for cox communications, I hung up on the guy. Really pisses me off when people can't leave a voicemail, I mean I KNOW autodialers can do it, I've gotten them before.

When telemarketers call, I answer the phone in Spanish.  Never hear a response.

It is Cox Communications.  I just ordered more Cable channels and I'm sure they're trying to sell me more.  You can call and ask them to take you off their sales call list.

I've gotten two calls now from this number, but I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Thanks for the heads up everyone.

Got a call from this number.  Said hello twice.  No answer.  About to hang up when a male said hello.  Didn't call back.

They have been calling me non-stop for months now!! I know its Cox Communications - they just want you to upgrade or buy more services. I only have internet and I've told them to take me off the list because I'll upgrade when I want and to stop calling but they refuse. They are using a dialer system that calls at specific times during the day to see when you are more likely to pick up the phone. When I have answered no one is on the line, I just hear talking. Other times they say it is Cox Communications offering a special on pricing for cable packages.

I was called by this number, trying to get me to sign up for cable. Thing is, the caller said that he was from Cox, however when I called Cox via the standard number there apparently were no notes on my account referencing anything that he'd told me. And it appeared (looksing at a reverse lookup) that the number is being leased to Qwest.

I received a call at just about nine in the evening.  Since my friends can recognize my voice I either answer in Spanish or simply say, "Bridge, this is the Captain speaking."  When I received no answer, I hung up.  Shield up!

Im like never answering the phone when this number calls again.. Its so ghey.. Yes lets call this number when they answer hang up.. I swear cox has gotten slobby this past year!

Have received numerous calls from this number, so much so that I have the number memorized.  

First couple times I answered, received no reply... rest of the times, I let it go to voicemail, and no message was left.  

Last time they called, I was expecting a call and answered not paying too close attention to the number displayed on my caller ID to see that it was this number... no reply when I answered... I said hello again... a lady picked up and said hello and asked how she could help me... I responded that it was her that called me... and she asked what my phone number was that was called... it was at this point that I hung up on her.

So as stated by other posts on here, it's an automatic random dialer that is generating the calls, and someone actually there monitoring, but just slow to the pick-up when someone actually takes the call and answers their phone, why it appears no one is on the line when the phone is answered.

I do live in a Cox service area, and do have internet service through them, so assume that it is what others have posted also, and them trying to half-a**, and annoyingly, peddle their other services.

This number just called and left no vm.  It's 7:28PM andI assume it is Cox.  I've had this happen before (random calling at all hours of the day and night).  It's frustrating as heck!

Got a call from this number, answered no one there, they called back. again no one on teh line. got a third call and didnt answer, went to my vcmail. didnt leave a message either. when i tried calling it back it states the number is disconnected...

Just recieved a call (2pm 1/20/2008) from Cox communications on this line.  Offering new services...

I just called and ripped 'em, this is ridiculous, I got about 7 of these call, hang ups before I was able to even get through while dialing the number back!

recieved a call from 402-333-6890 who identified themselves as a cox communications person trying to offer me extended services, per yellow.com the phone number goes to a landline provided by quest, it's a conspiracy! lol
