If you find a charge likje KIN*PANCAN you probably donated some money for pancreatic cancer research funding.

I had a credit card charge from "KIN*LRF 858-795-3090 CA".

It turns out it is the Kintera company which provides credit card acceptance for charitable organizations.  Mine was a donation to the Lymphoma Research foundation, but a little digging show Kintera also collect donations for many other causes.

The American Lug Association also uses this clearinghouse for both calls and payments.

It turns out is was legitimate!  I had dontaed $50 to "Make A Wish" for a walk...

I had the same concern when I saw the unfamiliar name/number as a reference on a credit card receipt, but upon doing a search I found it was a donation I made to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.

I donated $25 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Chicago and a $25 charge with this # and "Chicago" showed up on my charge. I think that is what this number is.

I also received a charge from the above phone number. Upon checking I discovered it was legitimate because I too had donated to the Lymphoma society.

I saw this number, thought it was a bogus charge, but it was legitimate. I forgot I did an online donation for Subway, Heart Association of behalf of a friend.

It appears to be charges for Susan B Komen  Race for the Cure(Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk in Baton Rouge LA)

No phone call or letter - just a $10 charge on my credit card that I didn't make.  I called them and they tell me they can't do anything yet as the charge is still "pending".  When it "posts" they will do something.  I'm not sure what, I had a difficult time understanding the person to whom I was speaking.

Just received a call from my credit card company questioning a $55 donation.    KI Kintera unlawfully charged my account $55.  RAT B*****DS !!   You can bet I'm filing fraud charges.

Yes, I had same problem, they charged on my account for $20.00 donation. I don't know how they got my card.

Yes I just had one charged for 20.00  and couldnt remember donating anything.. I donated this to my granddaughter through a school website in Fort Wayne, .. It would be nice for them to tell you how it was going to be coded for your charge card.. Thanks for bringing me to this website to solve the mystery..  i googled the number and got here.. thanks..

Yes, I was worried to, but I made a donation for an AIDS walk.  It's legit.  So glad I found this page:)

I made a donation for Big Brothers, Big Sisters fundraiser in Pittsburgh and was charged that $20 on my account.  Now the following day I have another $20 charge for a donation from this organization.  Not sure whether it is Kintera or the collecting web page that's at fault.

Check your statements, folks.  Make sure you're not being double-charged as well.

I was nervous when I had seen a charge for $25 onmy statement. It is valid, I am walking in a Ronald McDonald Walk to help raise money for the house to provide a home for the families of sick children.

We did the same.

A $15.00 charge just showed up on my credit card for this group.  We did not donate any money through them over the Internet (the statement said it was charged over the Internet).  I have submitted a dispute.

THIS IS NOT A CALLER...the number was reflected on my Credit Card Bill.

THIS IS THEFT!  It seems that they prey on those that contribute to charities and other non-profit organizations.  Contact your credit card company immediately to report the charge! We never gave to a Blackbaud Co. or 858-795-3090.  This is a scam - I have already reported them.

I never was contacted by this company and my card was charged 7 times within a 7 hour period... 2 @ $1000, 1 @ $100, 1 @ $50, 1 @ $25, and 1 @ $15.... a total of $2190.00 .. filed fraudulent charges as soon as they posted with my bank... funny thing is that it was my bank that caught it right away... way to go Navy Federal..

858-795-3090 cheated for 10 GBP every month on my credit card that i occassionally use ...have notified my bank who cant trace it and apparently cant stop it either, hav spoken to fraud dept and they will try and sort it they say!!!!

First thing I did was google the phone number.   Upon reading the first couple posts, remembered the $25 Make-A-Wish Foundation contribution that we had done for a family member online.

Kintera is a division of Blackbaud Company, a software developer for Non-Profit fund raisers. Because your online contribution is made using Kintera software, their name and telephone number may show up on your credit card bill, while the donated funds are sent directly to the organization you donated to. You will therefore have some difficulty using your credit card bill as proof to the IRS of your donation but you should receive a letter from the non-profit you donated to verifying your contribution. Hope this helps reassure some concerned folks.

Same deal as most on here, got a charge for $25.00 from KIN*JA BAY AREA, INC. I'd donated the money to Junior Achievement in San Francisco.  This discussion helped jog my memory.
