Since you did not get any useful information about the company, they can call you all they want and you can't do anything about it. Neither can the rest of us. I'm rarely home, so it's hard for me to pick up and talk to them, and they usually don't leave messages on my machine.

These are not necessarily scams. They may be illegal telemarketing calls, and you may be able to make some money from them. There are several car warranty companies making illegal telemarketing calls. Are you sure all of the calls you've gotten were from the same company? If so, and if you have pictures of your Caller ID or if you have a printout (Like from a fax machine.) to prove the calls, you can get $500 or more for each call.

It would be helpful if you could talk to them a little bit and, instead of challenging them, play along to get real information -- useful information -- so you (and the rest of us) can sue them. If they have to pay enough money to enough people, they will change their ways. Whining on this won't do it . . . but can be helpful to people who want to make 'em pay.

ALL telemarketers MUST stop calling if you request to be placed on THEIR do not call list!!! Moreover, this "exempt" story is probably untrue, unless you have a previous relationship with the company. Even that exception vanishes, as soon as you ask to be placed on their do not call list.

What y'all seem to be missing is that these illegal calls can be worth a minimum of $500 apiece. Some people have been awarded more than $20,000 for ONE (1) call, in various courts. Most small claims courts can award $5,000 or $10,000 for a single call . . . but you have to file, and you have to have some evidence that you're suing the right folks.

Our family gets the same song and dance as people described in previous messages. Unsolicited calls for months about a supposed car warranty that can't possibly exist. Requests for personal information. Failure to remove from calling list. When you request to speak to a "live" person, they refuse to give you the name of their company or they hang up on you. Tonight, the telemarketer said the company name is "Warranty Options" ... said his name is "Quincy" ... and then promptly hung up.

My suggestion is that all of you call your Attorney General office.

This is our fourth call from this number. This time instead of asking to be taken off their call list, I pressed one to talk to someone, and once I asked what the business name that was calling I was told to SHUT UP and hung up on. I am tired of recieving theese calls and having someone being rude to us.  I do not need a car warranty extension on our cars, they have expired more than 4 years ago.

Got a call from this number at 8:26PM!!! My kids have been in bed for an hour now.  Any way when my wife called him out about it being a scam he told her to "lick his ba*** and get a lawyer and he can lick them too"  I got on the phone with him and he said his name was Ronald Brown JR. and that he worked for Ford, never mind we've never owned a Ford.  I  told him I wanted to speak to his supperviser and he hung up on me.

I assume the calls are prerecorded. On that count alone, they violate federal law. The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) forbids unauthorized prerecorded telemarketing calls. (And the fact that they refuse to remove your number after you told them to is another violation of federal law.)

Here's what you do:  file a complaint online with the Federal Communications Commission here: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088cform.do I suggest filing a separate complaint for each call you receive, rather than listing all the calls in one complaint.

Next you cab sue these @ssholes for fun and profit.  The TCPA also provides an avenue for consumers to pursue monetary damages against the offending telemarketer to the tune of $500 per call. Of course, that involves going to court but it's not as difficult as it sounds. I believe that each time the telemarketer makes the call, they could be subject to paying $500 in damages. (In other words, you get paid $500 each time they place an illegal call to you.) Check out this link to the website of a lawyer who was startled awake in the early morning hours by an unauthorized prerecorded telemarketing call: http://www.panix.com/~eck/telemarket.html  He tells the detailed story of how he put the provisions of the TCPA to work against a lawbreaking telemarketer in small claims court and made a nice profit.

And, I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers who would love taking a case like this -- especially if it involves numerous calls at $500 a pop. :)

Someone has been calling me about these warranties I MUST renew. Second time, I pressed 1 to talk to a real person. I asked their name right away. All I got in answer was the click of a phone being hung up. With the next call, I pressed 1 again and got Will. Feigning interest I asked the name of the company. "Warranty Options," I was told. Said I wanted to think about it and how could I call them back. After a lot of hemming and hawing I was told that the offer was only good for that day and I had to renew now. I let them know I did not want to "renew" now or ever. How can I renew something I never had anyway. I do not have caller ID so I can't trace the #. How can these guys get away with this? And if the offer is only good for this day, why do they keep calling?

FROM MY COMPLAINT TO THE FCC:
https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088cform.do

A company continues to autodial our home number to market an extended warranty on our auto.  We've been receiving "last chance" calls for over a month.

Selecting the "remove" option on their call system has not worked. When I select to speak to an agent, the agents ask for my auto information including VIN, and hang up when I request to be removed.  The incomming call is identified as 858-863-1026.  Receive "number not in service" on call back.

Received call on 1-12-2008 at 9:18 CT. Recording about a car warranty. After listening chose to speak with someone. The live person had to be one of the thickest skulled I have ever dealt with. Very unprofessional acting. Then again what telemarketer is? I plainly requested over and over that I did not want called again. She finally after what seemed like an eternity agreed to remove my number form the call list. She then still threatens to call me back if she or another agent wants to. I told her that it's illegal to call someone after removing one's number and may be grounds for a lawsuit. That didn't even scare her. After that all I could hear was background noise and her trying to disguise laughter with fake coughing or choking sounds. I asked her what's so funny...*more noise*..., and finally click and "if you would like to make a call,...

Does the FTC's Do Not Call program really work? I'm thinking about joining. Especially after this call and all the other telemarketing and donation calls I've received in all the nearly four years my present phone number has been active.

rcvd a call and went through the stupid act with the rep. to get additional information.  they are a auto warranty reseller.  i bought a used vehicle and purchased an extended warranty. that is the data base they purchased or represent.  when the rep got frustrated with my stupid answers she swore at me and hung up.

this is a scam.

do not give them ANY info with year/make/model of any vehicle.  they have been calling for about 4 months and anytime i've asked which vehicle or what the name of their company is, they hang up.

Received a call today. I pressed number to get a representative to request them to stop calling. The representative told me they are not subject to the do not call list as this is a service that I'm receiving from them, an offer of car warranty coverage. Hah!
