I have been getting calls from this number and didn't answer it because the caller I'd said out of range, but because I was expecting a call regarding paying for my drugs I answered. It was a man from Active Access. The very people I was expecting to call. Good, good people to help those with multiple sclerosis and can't afford the $$$$ drug they need.

The folks at this number are a bona fide charitable fund for folks who have Multiple Sclerosis and are in need of financial assistance for a particular injected interferon medication. Like the others who have responded above, the meds are very expensive ($4,400 per month at Walgreens or Wal-Mart without insurance). These folks have come through for my wife since I lost my state insurance several months ago. Medicare costs on Part D was to be $1,000 per month and these guys arranged to cover our ENTIRE out-of-pocket cost through the end of the year (December 2013). Shortly, we will have to "re-apply" for 2014 funding. If the funding holds up for 2014, it means my wife won't have to go back to a wheel chair. We searched for months for help. These guys ARE NOT cold callers and are not telephone solicitors and aren't selling anything. They respond to individuals who have been referred from MS organizations. They are not prank callers. They are not a collection agency. If you got a call from them and you didn't call them first, then your call was truly a wrong number.

I am on the same medication and am blessed to have them helping me with the cost of the medication; I saw the cost you stated for back in 2011. I'm told that the price now is $3,500... couldn't take the medication without their financial help! :o)

This message is from Avonex "Active Access" ...
now I'm not sure what they want but, they leave a "reply" 800 number for more information.
For me, it's due to getting my very expensive medicine through a program that provides this for free.
Meds are ~$1200/week for injectables.
