It was a debt collector.

I got an automated call from John Spencer giving me the exact same speech today. The number that showed up on my caller ID was 1-859-721-0243, I was unable to write down the call back number as he was saying it to fast. I did call back the number on my caller ID & a different male voice said 'due a high volume of calls, please leave your info & we'll get back to you', umm i don't think so buddy. I called my bank & they confirmed this was a scam.

they use the same message with the name as john spencer now...and when you call the # they give you it goes to "investigator mack".  No matter what number u find online about these ppl it all goes to this same scumbag...every phone line goes to him and the same secretary...they supposedly have an officer at 1776 I st nw in DC except that office "doesnt accept phone calls" according to the desk receptionist for the building...they make bs threats with old info they hack offline and all the threats are illegal about how ull b take to court the next morning for credit card fraud if you dont pay them their discounted settlement that night. ..when you question "investigator mack" to any extent he becomes enraged and says to have your lawyer contact him and hangs up like a little bi***...i wont send them one dime because they are lowlife scammer scumbags...use the address above to report them to FTC and any other agencies you see fit...they also tend to get their address wrong and put the wrong phone numbers on their "official letterhead" because they are retarded

I received a call today from these nice folks. They left a message on my machine about returned items from my bank. They never mentioned my name in the pre-recorded message, and the guy sounds like a shyster, so... nah. I won't be calling them back. My bank account has plenty of funds, so I don't see that happening. I love how it says "thank you, and good luck" at the end. No, good luck to you. Not gonna work on this ol' boy.

As follows is a rough transcript of what the message said:


"Hello, my name is Walter Bryce. I am calling from county arbitration in regards to a returned item from your bank. When contacting our office, please have your case number available: 2365. We have 48 hours to resolve this issue. Press the 9 to speak to a claims processor, or call us back at 855-733-9915. Failure to comply will result in a complaint to be formalized with your residing county. Thank you, and good luck."

My call originated from a caller ID of "Unknown Name" and a number of 859-721-0243.

I got ten calls within about a two hour span from this number. No messages. A reverse phone lookup says its Alec, Inc. in Lexington, KY.
