He has my mothers maiden name, which is also my old last name. He knew about our name change, and has both of our phone numbers. I have no idea how, seeing as how my phone number is only two years old.

Anyone can  notify the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.    I found them on line.   These people can be fined over $1000.00 a day.  This is against the law, especially if they call repeatedly and use profane language.  I am about to do this myself as I have started receiving calls from them now and they play loud music, then hang up.

I also got a call from this #. I did not answer. I have been letting my voice mail pick up on unknown #'s so I can scan. Do people have any better thinks to do? REALLY

This is a scam so be very careful, DO NOT hand out any kind of information to this caller.
This scam caller will keep on calling best thing to do is call your local police department.

I did not answer when they called; my mother taught me not to talk to strangers"!  

Caller with Indian accent said he was from the State Health Department and wanted to "pay me a lot of money."  Asked whether I had surgery, and I said no and that I was not interested in his call.  He then asked whether I used the Mirena IUD and I hung up on him and told him to stop calling me.  This is the third call I have received like this, but the first from this number.

Caller spoke very rudely to me asked for someone and when he was told he had the wrong number  multiple times when he kept talking he called me a bi*** and hung up

Caller asked for my mother by name advising that he could only speak to her about medical information. In a very broken accent says he is from the state health department and wants to know if there have been any complications with her medical treatment and wanted to update her medical records. We don't know how he got her name or number but the call was definitely bogus. We are in North Carolina he was in Connecticut. When probed with direct questions he got flustered and hung up. He will only get better with practice. Watch out for this ruse to get personal information from older people. We called the number back and the recorded message it would not identify the company associated with that number.
