Call Received, call Blocked.
Lisa 2014-06-19 21:51:06 Unknown
The problem with blocking individual numbers is that these people keep changing the phone numbers they originate the calls from.
If you have caller ID, it's pretty obvious which calls are bogus, especially when the same number dials you repeatedly. They even manage to call me using my own phone number! Our phone announces that Lisa is calling from _ _ _ _ _ _ _ XXXX. Most of the time the dialer (person or machine) hangs up if I answer--or when voicemail answers.
The least frustrating way of handling it that I have managed so far is to pick the phone up when it rings and quickly tap "Talk" and then "Off." It seems like we have fewer calls since I started doing that, but maybe it's a coincidence. Anyway, it means the nuisance is quickly silenced. I feel less annoyed.

VERDI ENERGY:
These slugs are hemorrhoids- a pain in my a** that won't go away! I'm also on the NO CALL list but what these idiots lack in education preventing them from reading and comprehending they make up in abject rudeness and arrogance. Fry their butts!!

I have a Panasonic cordless phone bought in Costco that can block up to 30 phone numbers. You manually enter the number(s) on a call block screen and you're done, and you can eliminate a blocked number at will. When a blocked call comes in, the phone will ring once and once only. The screen will say "call blocked," and the ringing stops, so I will not answer the phone on the first ring, knowing that if it rings a second time, it is not a blocked number. Costco now has a Panasonic cordless phone that will block up to 250 numbers. You should be able to buy this elsewhere too. Maybe other phone manufacturers also have this feature.
I left the above message at another spam phone number earlier.

Honestly,
When it comes to Electric Companies, I would never switch.
When I was out of work , I made tiny payments and the Large Company never shut me off. They always said to send in what you can. And I did. Any other little Company that hounds you with Sales Calls would never have done that I would have been in the Dark.
And that is the Truth, and nothing but the Truth.

You are right about the investigation, but that is only about the rates. It is not about the phone calls or the DNC list.
Elspeth 2014-06-04 19:48:37 Unknown
You can block the numbers, using either your phone (if it has a call block feature), or Google "call blockers" - you can get one for $60 or less (and some block up to 1500 - or more - numbers).
tonyR 2014-06-04 19:41:14 Unknown
Can you tell me who runs the DNC list ? Where does your report go and who gets it ?
Just something to think about.
tonyR 2014-06-04 19:36:16 Unknown
They called you about your account and asked you for the account number. You did the right thing not giving them the number. That was a very wise move. I wish everyone would take the time to think as you did.
tonyR 2014-06-04 19:30:30 Unknown
All the people I have asked about the DNC list tell me as soon as they got on it, ( maybe the next day ),the calls started to come in .Some got new phone numbers and put them on the DNC list and somehow they got the new number.
tonyR 2014-06-04 19:24:49 Unknown
People tell me to report this to the FCC.Well I have reported and reported. The calls still come. Not just sending emails to the FCC but also telephone calls. If I understand what was told to me.If you did not send any money or you were not scamed, there is nothing they can do for you.If you do not like getting the calls, get a new phone number.
tonyR 2014-06-04 19:10:39 Unknown
The FCC does not do any thing.Have put in more then 10 reports about this number and so have a 100 or more people.

Got a call from these guys today so I blocked them. Came up as Out of Area, left no message.
Cindy 2014-06-03 16:12:06 Unknown
Did it. Please call: 888-382-1222, the phone number to file a complaint against telephone harassment. It's the Do Not Call registry and they need to know about these jerks who are relentless. Follow the prompts. Thank you.
paul m. 2014-05-28 18:19:20 Unknown
the news have exposed them as not honest people. you get great rates but if you don't read the fine print then you pay big. tell them the sky is falling the sky is falling
Janet - FL 2014-05-27 15:37:49 Unknown
One ringer. But now I will be blocking this number!!!
Giovanni Ciiriani 2014-05-19 16:51:30 Unknown
The caller ID said "anonymous". When I replied that I do not like to deal with callers who have anonymous IDs, she called back with the caller ID "private". They say they are in the energy business.

two rings, then stopped halfway through the third ring.
Caller ID "Unknown Name"
Why bother having and paying for phone service these days?

Called today around 2:30PM and I picked up, which I normally don't. A very pushy woman from Verdi Energy trying to get me to switch electric providers to save money. These electric companies are notorious for sucking you in with low rates and then switching to a higher rate than CL&P or UI within just a month or two. They rely on people who don't pay attention to their bills. If you want lower energy rates, move to another state!

PLEASE report this number (860) 973-1641 and the caller, Verdi Energy, to the National Do Not Call List (donotcall.gov). It only works if you use it and the number receives multiple complaints. There is an active investigation by the Frauds Division in the Department of Consumer Protection for the State of Connecticut against Verdi Energy! PLEASE band together as harassed consumers and show that you are sick and tired of these calls. Make a difference and report them!

They'd better start paying attention to the National Do-Not-Call list. I reported them today and will continue to do so. The number on my caller ID is probably a spoofed one, though. The moron managers who force their employees to call numbers on the DNC list really want their...chestnuts roasted! Can we lobby our congress to make repeat harassers do some jail time or community service?
Disgusted 2014-04-04 15:09:15 Unknown
I just reported the number. The person very aggressively asked to speak with whomever pays the electric bills. I told them, very aggressively, NEVER to call my number again. Immediately after hanging up I received another call from the same area in Hartford. Probably the jerk I told not to call, but I didn't answer.

I received a call from 860-973-1641 and a guy tried getting me to switch electrical companies. I told him it sounded like a scam and I was busy. Called me back twice until I threated to lodge a complaint. Filed complain with donotcall.gov

Received call they said they were an electric supplier from Verdi. Said a discount was not applied to my account so they wanted my account number so they could apply the discount. I don't give out my account number. I think if I did they would switch my supplier company! Sounds like a scam!

Telemarketer stop this calling from this company. 860-973-1641
Veronica 2014-03-13 14:02:06 Unknown
they are an electric company seeking clients. They are called Verdi energy at "get smart fight back.com" They are seeking business, neverrtheless I am on the do not call list and they continue to call, they have for at least 2 years. I suggest you all report them to the Federal Communications Commission, that should help.
