THEY CALL AS ABOVE STATED.  WE DO NOT OWE ON OUR MORTGAGE.  THEY ASK FOR RETURN CALLS AND WANT THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF MY SS.  NOT!  THEY THEN ASK FOR ME TO CALL ANOTHER NUMBER..........NOT!  I ASK THEM TO REMOVE ME FROM THEIR LIST.  THEY SAY THEY WILL MAKE NOTE OF IT AND PUT IT IN THE SYSTEM.  THEY STILL CALL......AFTER A YEAR OF CALLING.  THEY ALSO ASK FOR MY HUSBAND AT 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON.  I ASK TO TAKE A MESSAGE.......THEY WANT TO KNOW WHEN IT IS BEST TO REACH HIM, SINCE I WON'T GIVE ANY INFO....I TELL THEM NEVER.......HE WORKS FOR A LIVING AND COMMUTES OVER 3 HOURS A DAY.  MY GOODNESS THIS IS HARASSMENT.

I get calls from 407-737-5221 everyday asking for Bonnie to call back at 866-218-3885 with reference # mon-fri 8-11 and when I google it Ocwen comes and I am on the do not call list also. I get calls 9 times a day 7 days a week. Never heard of these rude people before.

THIS IS A CALL FROM A BUNCH OF CROOKS IN FLORIDA CALLED OCWEN.  THEY USE MANY DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBERS AND IF YOU TRY TO CALL BACK TO THEM YOU EITHER GET PUT ON HOLD FOR UP TO 3 HOURS OR TRANSFERED TO INDIA.  THEY ARE A COLLECTION AGENCY THAT TRIES TO GET YOU TO PAY A DEBT THAT IS OUT OF THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS AND HAS BEEN WRITTEN OFF BY A COMPANY.  THEY BUY THE DEBT MAKE A PHONY PAYMENT TO SHOW ACTIVITY AND BEAT THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS, THEN HARRASS THE LIVING HELL OUT OF YOU FOR PAYMENT.  IGNORE THIS CALL IF YOU CAN.  THEY ARE VERY PRESISTANT AND CALL BEFORE 9AM AND AFTER 9PM DURING THE WEEK AND WEEKENDS.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONNAL INFORMATION. DO NOT PUT UP WITH THEIR BULLYING TACTICS.  HANG UP ON THEM.  THEY HAVE BEEN AFTER ME FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS ON A DEBT THAT IS OVER 10 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN WRITTEN OFF AND ALSO DECLARED ON  INCOME TAX WITH A 1098.

I literally just got a new number and I have only given it too one person, my fiance, but I have already gotten 2 voice mails from this number. It has been a different lady but the same exact message both times. I have no intention of ever calling it back

This outfit's been calling me since Xmas 2007 with 2 different phone numbers, 218-3885 or 218-3883. It's always OCWEN Financial, calls from Orlando. If you respond you get some guy from India. If you tell him you aren't the person they're seeking, he tries to "verify" your name, address & SS # . The FTC says collection agencies are increasingly targeting innocent people & badgering them into paying debts they never owed. I got no help from the "Do Not Call" folks, & no response to my complaint to the FTC. If you can stand the annoyance, the best thing to do is just ignore the calls, but if you're being harassed about a debt you don't owe, this advice from "MSN MONEY" by Liz Weston:
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS:
1. Get the name of the collector, address & phone number.
2. Send a certified letter, return receipt requested. Make it clear they've called the wrong party, that you don't owe such a debt, & you don't want to be called again. Send a copy to State Atty General & FTC. If enough people complained about the same company, they might take an interest.
3. Monitor your credit reports to make sure a bogus debt isn't posted on your credit report. Dispute the item immediately. Include copies of the certified letter you sent & any complains you filed.
4. If you have deep pockets, consider a lawsuit against collectors that violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Contact the National Assn. of Consumer Advocates for refrrals to attorneys.

They're a collection agency.

If they're calling you - then you or someone in your family owes money for something that wasn't paid.  Or you might have a number that used to belong to someone that owes money.  

Either way,they are debt collectors looking for money.

I've had two calls this week from this number.  Same messages as above.  I went through this several months ago and ignored it.  Thanks for letting me know that you have had the same issue.  I can ignore it without worrying.

I just received the same call as described above, but it was on my work line… They too were asking that I call the 866-218-3885 number back and gave me the hours to call back. Not sure how they got this number, but I am going to ignore due to the past comments found here. Thanks!!!!

I recieved a call and was told to return a call to 866-218-3885, so before calling it I decided to "google" it first and realized its some sort of scam...so, I didnt even bother with the return call...

I called the number back with *67 which should have hid my number from them, but the person who answered the call still new which number I was calling from.  He said he was looking for so-&-so (I suppose this person owed them some money).  I said they didn't leave here and have had this number for several years.  I gave my first name only and they said they would remove my number from their system.  Will see how that goes.

I actually answered and had a person with an accent ask for me, so I said that they (me) were not in could I take a message. Stephen with Ocwen 866-218-3885 needs a return call within 48 hours about a very important financial matter. Throughout the day Janice calls and leaves messages on the machine.

Same phone number for 30 years I don't really want to change it to make them go away but I really don't want to have them calling for the next 2 years.

Calling me 4-5 times a week for almost 2 years. Very threatening and rude people.
I asked them to please stop and mail me the info they had. They ignored me and keep calling.

I get calls from this people everyday with the same story; There's asking for me about an important businesss matter.  I never confirmed it was me but then the lady asked to leave a message and I accidentally said "yes".  I got the information which was that to call some lady called Vandana at 866-218-3885.  It is not the first they have called and I don't think it's the last.

I've gotten two messages on my voicemail from a woman who gave this number, said they had an urgent matter to discuss, and said that someone from this household needed to call back.  She did not identify herself or the nature of her business, nor did she mention the name of anyone specific in my home.  I do not intend to call back.

Got a call yesterday evening, 1/3/07, similar to the others mentioned, a recording of a woman's voice stating that someone from this (my) number needed to call back due to an urgent matter and gave days and times to call back.  The caller ID was 866.218.3885.  Figured it was a scam, googled it today and found this site.  I also am in the "Do Not Call Registry".  I will file a complaint.

We've gotten two calls from these people...rude of indian descent, hardly able to be understood. They finally gave me the Citifinancial supposed account number, saying I owed over $2,000 from 2004. I called Citi and there is no such account number. I told them to be aware, that they may start receiving a LOT of phone calls. I wish I knew how to stop this from happening. I also don't know how they got my phone number in the FIRST place.

I received a call from caller ID #407-388-1070 leaving me a message to return an important phone call at 866-218-3885. I did so because with phone numbers nowadays not being tied to a specific geographical area, I thought the call may have been about a family member. After being put on hold, a man answered. I asked him who I was calling, and he replied Ocwen. I asked him what Ocwen does and he refused to tell me until he was sure that he had the "right person" on the line. I told him to not call this number again and abruptly hung up on him.

I just starting receiving voicemails from a gal named Michelle asking that some guy call her back at 866-218-3885.  I finally did and got a guy who answered, told me to hold.  I did but hung up.  Michelle calls me back a minute later and when I answer, she asks me if I'm the person at this phone # and reads it off to me.   I told her that she dialed that number, got me, that I wasn't the person she asked for via voicemail and requested that she take the phone # off of her calling list.  She again asked me my name, I refused and she told me that she would take me off the list.  From reading the messages on this board, sounds like I might receive more calls from this Ocwen company.  Sounds illegal to me.

They call me at work and just give a reference # and than ask me for my ss#.  I just hang up

I got a message saying someone from this phone number needed to call 866-218-3885.  That's all the detail they gave.  I immediately googled it and found this board.  I've received similar calls in the past on a daily basis and the message always said "This is Roger Bass.  I have an important matter to discuss with you.  This is not a sales call.  Please call me back toDAY."  I still know it by memory.

I put in about 6 or 7 complaints with the do not call registry and haven't heard from them since.  I'll do the same with this number

I received a call from 407-388-1070 with a long message telling me that "someone from my numnber" needs to call 866-218-3885 in regards to something "personal".  They didn't give their name or indicate who they were trying to reach.   I immediately got online, entered 866-218-3885 and found that they are OCWEN Federal Bank in Orlando/Fort Lauderdale.  Their company is currently facing a class action lawsuit by the US government for $700 million + for fraud, racketeering, and other unlawful practices!!


I then called the 866# and spoke with a man who had an Indian accent. I told him my call was being monitored and that I was going to report him to the State Attorney General as well as the FTC.  He told me he would remove my number immediately from the calling list and no one would call me again.  I told him I was still going to report him anyway as I have more then six calls on my caller ID from his company.  When I tried to call those numbers back I got a message that the phone had been disconnected....on THREE different phone numbers!

I received a call today from this number showing on my called ID, along with a message left by a lady named Rachel to return her call, she had an urgent matter to discuss. When I returned the call it was in regards to a debt that was from the past, Oct. 2001. She wanted to verify the last  four digits of my social security number. I informed her that she is illegally contacting me do to the statue of limitation law. I at that point disconnected from the line. I have had several calls the last few weeks from this number with no messages left until today. Sometimes they call 3-4 times "DAILY".
