Caller left message for my brother, misrepresenting themselves. Let you believe they were calling from a state government agency rather than a collection agency in MI. I think this is terribly dishonest.

They did this to me just this afternoon, and the caller ID was an obvious phony number full of zeros, and they said that they were calling on behalf of the State Of Michigan. Seems like the State Attorney General's office should know about this.

I received a very polite call this morning for my son who does not live here.  The lady said she was calling from the State of Michigan about a personal matter.  Calls from the State always ID the department.  The number that showed was 310-800-0000, with the ID:  INTER MED GR.
So, I did a search and found this site which explained it is a debt collector.
