Asked for me...hung up. I called back and the person answered by their name. No company info. I asked what company this was and they answered financial services. Sounds more like a department name than a company name. This is the first time I have received a call from this number that I know of.

why cant they be stopped from calling? I dont know who to report them to--I do not owe any bills-so there is no reason for a collection agency to call me--if they had any sense at all they would at least give specific info on what the bill is---as I know the credit bureau can make mistakes pays to check that out every now and then-they had me living in another state and leasing a car-neither were true, but it was easy to get that stuff off my credit--

Same thing happened to me... last time (another number) did this to me for about a month until I blew an air horn into the receiver. Never called again haha

These peoples are persistant. However since they have the misfortune to call when I am not at home - several times a day -every day of the week - and do not leave a message, I will not answer if I am at home nor will I EVER call them back after the 7 or more calls a week should they ever have the decency to leave a message.
John Doe 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
They call and never leave a message and when I answer no one is on the other line.
Rick 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
These people call my home phone 2 to 3 times a day and never leave a message. I will not answer it and just let the machine pick up. They always hang up befroe the recording is done. They even call on the weekends and after 8:30 at night. I wish there was some way to stop them from calling. When they call it shows on caller ID as Toll Free or Unknown Name and the number.

had 3 calls from this number today. my husband answered the last time. person said he was looking for ____, who is our son-in-law. said our son-in-law set up a business w/"his people". never said what company etc. my husband then called our daughter who said her husband hadn't set up any business. i then checked here. husband called our daughter back and told her it's a scam #. i have absolutely no idea how they got our number much less asking for our son-in-law.

These people 866-235-3868 have been calling me daily. In fact several times a day, seven days a week, at all hours of the day and night. This one will call three times in about fifteen minutes.
Also getting calls from 866-945-8627 same as above. Then this one will call about an hour later, same as above, three times in an hour.
They seem to be playing tag. I believe they are the same people.
I don't not answer either number, or any number that I do not recognize.
I'm handicapped and two months ago, I was forced to go on my SS, because of my age, which cut my short income down $124 a month. Right now I can just barely pay the essentials, had to stop paying some of my catalog credit cards. I have $58 a month to buy groceries on, because I can't qualify for foodstamps.

Called looking for my mother, when I asked them what company they were with they refused to tell me unless I let them talk to my mom. She doesn't even live with me and doesn't know my home phone number. I threatened them and they said they would remove my phone number from the list. so we will see

Annoyed 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
Multiple calls from this number, as many as 7 or 8 a day, to an old cell I'm going to cancel shortly. Always when I'm not home (the phone is home) and never any messages left.
akmumzy 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
I get 4-5 phone calls a day on my cell some are only a couple of minutes apart and several on my home phone (not sure how many as my caller ID only keeps the last time stamp) each day, even got about 3 between the 2 phones on Easter Sunday. I don't answer them, because when I did the first couple of times I either got nothing or someone in the background laughing. Try calling back from a payphone that will really confuse them. I do like giving them the FBI hotline number that someone else suggested. They are very annoying. Thanks for the other numbers I recognize them as well. Living in Alaska sometimes these calls come as early as 6 am.

Lutricia 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
They call me several times a day and never leave a message so i never call them back or answer if I see their number.
Christina 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
They called, and I didn't answer. I called the number back to see who and what they were. The woman sounded like she was from India, and I couldn't understand her very well through her thick accent. She was looking for a certain person and I said that they didn't live here.
Probably a collection company.

Called to collect on a book club account that I haven't had for 2 years. Said they couldn't send me any paperwork on the amount owed until I gave them my payment information. I was told that after I set up a payment plan they would send me info in the mail and that if I didn't agree with the amount owed, I could then call to cancel the payment I had already set up. Yeah right. I asked them to give me the name of the book club and the club's number so I could call the club directly and they then proceeded to transfer me back and forth between collectors/scam artists. Finally hung up on them. They were very rude and pushy.

This company L I interstate calls me every hr on the hr. And they get confused when I ask questions. The 1st operator said I owed 32 dollars and the 2nd said I owed 76 dollars. I believe there running a SCAM.
Kim 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
these people are mean and harrassing!!!! They won't stop calling, call about 4 times a day, I just hit ignore
t larkin 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
if it's allied interstate calling for you it's more than likely a way delinquent bill. they get it after the original company decides they won't get pd. Like Crossings book club and the you ordered it thru the mail. Sometime it's for unpaid services like trash pick up etc.
Mel 2011-06-06 21:01:12 Unknown
Said they were from Allied Interstae Debt Collection but was a computer and left a number to call back but no name of whom they are looking for

My number is on the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) national Do Not Call registry.
I receive a call from this number - 866-235-3868 - at least once a day, sometimes more. My Caller ID displayed the words "Out of Area" or "No Name" and the telephone number. I do not pick as I remember the number. In a search of the internet numerous sites identify the caller as Allied Interstate Inc. in Minneapolis, MN.
EVERY TIME I receive an unwanted call such as this one I report it to the FTC using its online complaint format. I provide the date, time of the call, what Caller ID displayed and the message if there was one on my voice mail. I have decided to let the FTC know that people are tired of unwanted calls.
These companies/individuals know that most people will not bother to complain to the FTC - that is what they are relying on. Thus, they stay under the FTC's radar. Complaining at this website does little to stop the calls.
If more people would complain to the FTC and not just complain on this forum, the FTC WILL take action against these annoying callers. The FTC does not act on one complaint. It takes many complaints before they will take action - but they DO take action if enough citizens complain.
You, too, can submit a report at:
https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
Click on "File A Complaint" on the left side of the web page. It only takes a minute of your time.
