I'm a representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting a text from us on this number. We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact information is correct. If the information on your resume is invalid, then we help them to correct it and update the employer on the applicant's status. We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I just received one of your stupid texts. That is an absolutely ludacris explanation. Companies trying to hire pay your company to verify an applicant's phone number to see if it is correct before they call the person for an interview themselves instead of just calling the number themselves?! I don't see why people who are job hunting would provide a bad phone number...Come on give us a break. Read what you type before you press enter/send!! People are unemployed not stupid! When your company starts getting lawsuits from people who get charged for incoming text messages you will learn.
