I have been getting several calls as well. When I answer there is a few seconds delay and then they hang up. I called this number back and got Discover, asked for a supervisor and had them remove my number. They apologized and said it might be 30 days before it went through all of the system so I will probably still be getting calls for awhile. They said it is a computer that makes the calls, I told them it was pretty stupid to call someone and then not have a sales person there to talk to. (not that I really want to talk them) They agreed that it was stupid but of course they will not be changing their system.The supervisor was very nice and did want to know details.

These guys call 2 to 3 times a day everyday.

Unfortunately, being on the DNC list doesn't apply if you're a customer of the caller. In other words, if you have a Discover card, legally Discover can call you with customer offers whether you're on the DNC list or not. You have to deal with them about getting off their customer call list (as people have described above) or close the account.

My husband and I have been getting calls from this number by Discover card as well for a person who's never lived here before. We told the callers that no one lives or has never lived here before.  This time, we called back the 866 number and informed the person at Discover to remove our name and number from their list as we have our number listed on the DO NOT CALL list.  She asked if the same person they've been calling for on our number lived here and we (again) said no and never has.  Hopefully this stop the calls.

Calls are received morning, noon and night from this number. They do not respond when I answer the phone. Once a gal named Brittany started to ask me questions about credit and I told her not to call again that I wasn't interested. They keep calling.

The calls from this number started in April and are relentless.  They often call every day of the week including Sundays and holidays and up to 4 or more calls each day.  They never leave a message.  I never answer toll free numbers and thought being on the "do not call" list would have solved this problem.

I get this same call two,three and sometimes 4 in a day.I,m also on a do not call listing. If I ever get a person on the other end I'm going to rip them a you know what.

If you are on the Do Not Call list, they should not ever call to begin with. You should not have to wait for someone to remove you from a specific list.

All Credit Card solicitors are violating the federal requirements of the Do Not Call lists, and getting away with it, because the stupid consumers wont take the additional time to report tem as they should..

The only way to stop the abuse is to report tem, and when they get fined, they may learn a lesson.

I get at least one call, sometimes more from this number everyday.  I tried calling them back, but no answer.

I live in Oklahoma,We get a call from this number at least once a day and sometimes more.even on weekends.We do not answer unknown caller calls.
It should be illegal,as i am on a do not call list.

Got a call at our business office 12:11pm on 6/6/08.  When we answered with our company name, the caller hung up.

One thing telemarkers will never do is trust the people they hire enough to give them access to a normal telephone.  Why?  The telemarketing owners fear the telemarketers will spend time calling their friends and not you.

So the telemarketing staff doesn't have the ability to push any buttons on a normal phone.   Also, if it is one of those loathsome computers calling you, they don't have any buttons to push either.

So, all you need to do is get one of those answering machines that answers all the calls and  rings your phones only if the caller pushes your extension number (3 for ted, 4 for alice, 5 for anybody at home... and it just hangs up if it doesn't get a number !!)  

Since they can't push any numbers -- your phones won't ring!

I am the receptionist at a business firm in Lafayette, CA. I recieve 3+ calls from this number EVERY DAY. As soon as you pick up, they hang up. I've tried calling back multiple times and they never get to me. Message says" Thank you for calling DISCOVER, all of our representatives are busy. Please way for the next available operator." Of course, all of the operators are busy making ghost calls to other unexpecting victims. This practice has guarenteed that I never use a Discover card. This should be illegal, as it has consumed much of my day trying to have my number removed from their call list.

I have been getting a call the last two weeks every day with no message left.  I called the number back today after receiving a call with no message again and they are offering a discover business card.  I asked them to take me off of the calling list and she said no problem and that it will take up 30 days but they will stop calling.  I have had a discover card for 15 years and this is the first time I have had them call me.

They call me at least six times a day. I do not answer unknown numbers and they never leave a message.

They called today but hung up when we answered the phone.  Thank heavens for this site to find out who is calling!

Same here it says TOLL FREE NUMBER and just hangs up when you answer. I called Discover and told them to close out my account. 2 hours later another call! I will NEVER use discover EVER again.

I received 3 calls from them today on my home phone.  No messsage.  I live in Minneapolis, MN.

Just want to know who this is because I am on the do not call list, and when asked if it was a telemarketer they hung up.
