Has anyone determined of what use these calls are...are they able to access phone information or data?  The calls just make no sense if they aren't asking for anything...no sales pitch....no promo....  and the fact that you can't call it back...a disconnected number message is what I get...its just weird.

I've been getting calls from this number, and yesterday when I picked up I waited a couple seconds before saying hello to see if they would hang up or not...and they didn't..about 10 seconds into the phone call I said "hello?" and I could hear a guy saying something about switching to landline so that I don't waste minutes when answering their calls or something...

I think their job is to call peoples cell phones so we waste a minute every time we answer the call. I have unlimited incoming so it really doesn't matter to me..but still...its just annoying, your cell phone is your own private number - companies should not be selling our numbers to other companies, these people are so stupid and annoying.

Just block the number and you'll have peace. I use Shaw Digital Phone and this is what I do.


1. Lift handset and wait for the dial tone.
2. Press *60 to enter the command options menu.
3. Press the 3 number to activate Selective Call Blocking.
4. Key in the # sign.
5. Enter the phone number to block (7 to 10 digit local numbers or 1+10     long distance numbers).
6. Press the # sign.

Does anyone know how to stop these calls? And how long has everyone been dealing with these calls before they stop calling?

Ahh they called me again about an hour ago... Im not answering it.  I think the best thing to do is not answer. Ive been entering online contests for the past week... I bet its some kind of spam

They called me twice today. Once they didnt leave a message. The second time they did and it was just some weird noise in the background.

I just got this call today also, i didnt answer... they never left me a message.  Hopefully they dont keep calling me!! I never called back either..

This number has called me several times, I live in Toronto, and when I've answered it the person on the other end has said they were from Northern Pacific company offering some type of subscription.  I've told them numerous times that I am not interested.  They just called (AGAIN!) and before the guy said anything I told him to stop calling or I'm going to report the number as harrassment.  He said he would put my number on the "do not call" list.

I know why this is happening...If you have signed up for a membership or anything on the internet websites where you had to give your number than they have all your information. Phone, address, name and so on. The only solution would be to find out what web site you signed up on and contact them, cancel your membership or CHANGE YOUR NUMBER! I hope this helps everyone. :)

I just got the call from them, its a telemarketing call

yeah im on rogers and i just got a new number yesterday and so far this number has called me 4 times in the last 3 hours. it just cost me like 50$ to change my number and block that number but somehow they are still able to call me

cause i just got a call too from them and when i picked up it just disconnected. and when i called back it said NOT in service.

This number has called my cell while I am at work and can't answer my phone when I try to call it back i get a busy signal like my call has been disconnected.

1-866-291-9634 has called me many many times a day.  As I am in school I am unable to answer most of the time but the one time I did answer I heard someone breathing then they hung up.

Who is it and what point are they trying to make?

I am in Saskatchewan and have a Sasktel cell phone.

This same number... 1-866-291-9634 has called me 5 times today, the frist time I answered there was a female on the other end laughing and then it went dead. Tryed to call the number back but got the same message saying that this number is no longer in service....

This is getting ridiculous... Calling your landline is one thing, but when you havee to pay to answer their phone call on your cell that is absolutely not acceptable... My cell phone provider is Rogers

i got a couple calls from this number, i didn't answer but they never left any messages... so i guess it's not just happening to me. i have a virgin phone

I've been getting this call a couple of times a day for almost a week now. Most of the time there's no answer. I have to yell at them then they talk. They are very rude too. i told them nicely i don't want to do the survey they hung up on me and they just can't stop calling. This morning they called woke up my boyfriend and people have to work!!. STOP THIS IMMEDIATELY. what JERKS!!

I am receiving a couple of calls a day  from this  ###, it is very frustrating, because they don't say anything. They just listen for a few seconds & then hang up on me. I tried to use the block application,  it wouldn't work due to it being a business, or 3rd party call. I want it to stop!
