Debt Collector
I too received a phone call from these people with phone number 866-677-8832 and the conversation went pretty much the way these others went. I hung up on them and while calling my sister (who actually did work for an Attorney's office collecting bad debts at one time) to get her input I was able to google this company and found these comments.  She said to send a letter, certified, return receipt requested to their physical mailing address. The letter should say "This letter serves as my demand for all contact in any form cease and desist immediately. Any further contact in any form will result in legal actions being taken."

So, they are getting a letter and I have already notified my bank and the next four phone calls will be to the FTC, FBI, State Attorney General and local Police Dept.  If they want to mess with me bring it on because I am loaded for Bear and have plenty of ammo.

Interestingly enough I too received a call and googled the company while on the phone. Could not find Watson and Hampton LLC in Deleware but did find this website about their number 866-677-8832 that was left for me to call. The receptionist asked questions that I wasn't quite willing to answer and referred me to my "case worker" very similar to the above complaint. He explained that I had a payday loan from "Quik PayDay Loans" with only 19% interest, that's better than a finance company! After googling Quik Payday Loans, they require an active checking account with a check forwarded to them for payment on the next payday the amount of the payday loan is determined by your take home pay. I was given the option by the "case worker" of being served and going to court or make monthly payments and then finally it would go away for a settlement immediately for a portion of the original note. After payment they would forward the information "paid" to the credit bureaus immediately. I had asked he fax me any supporting information while I was speaking with him, he said that wasn't there policy so I offered to have him email the documents again not their policy. I said I'm not in the habit of paying something without a bill or supporting documents with my signature. Quite franky with the electronic age a vaild address is easy to find, I was told I've been ignoring their letters and the papers are in the process servers hands and they have them all over the country so I should expect them at my door in the morning if I didn't settle immediately. My next question to the "case worker" if you have them all over the country why haven't I been served. I contacted the Iowa Attorney General about this, it sounds like I wasn't the first call. The information has been forwarded to their investigator ,hopefully no one buys into this to be scammed. The AG's rep said this company apears to have purchased information if you had applied for a PayDay loan whether you received it or not. Please do not give any personal information when they ask you to verify what they have on file.
If they want to serve me with papers that's their choice but I'm can't believe I'll hear from them.

This phone # called me on Monday the 25th the caller id said 307-134-5678, the man told me he wanted to give me a courtesy call before delivering legal documents the next day, I demanded to know what was going on so he then gave me a number to call 1-866-316-3895 and a case number, when you call the number the automated menu options do not work at all and you just have to wait for someone to answer. They ask for the case number and the last 4 of your social, when I wouldn't give it to her she got very upset but transferred me to my "caseworker" who started out by verifying my entire social and my address from a few yrs ago...scary...I did not say whether it was mine or not - their info was not entirely correct thank god but the man proceeded to tell me that I had a collection from Quick Payday Loans from 8 years ago, that they deposited $900 into my checking account and I never paid ....But they would take a settlement of $280.00, so I said I needed to research and call back. So I contacted my bank and the said there was no deposit and informed me to call the police, credit bureaus and ftc...which I did immediately. I did call back 2 days later just to see what would happen and they gave me a different amount owed now it was $300 deposited that is now $820.00 from penalties and fees. Which I questioned them about the amount being different they said it was a "clerical error" I told them thank you for the info for my police report and hung up. They are 100% a verified SCAM! DO NOT GIVE THEM Sh*t! Sad that they cant work a real job like the rest of us and prey on innocent people :(
