Who keeps call after 7 p.m. at night?

Due to having Caller I.D. I called this number back. An automated message identified the caller as the Leukemia Lymphoma Society asking for donations for their Spring Neighborhood drive. They give you the option of being taken off of their caller list but you must give them your ph#. Guess I'll see if it works. They call on Sunday, at 8:30 a.m., after 9 p.m., and at 6 p.m. nightly. I have never donated to ph. solicited charities, nor will I,  but I made a donation to Hospice in memory of a former classmate's father. Guess that's where I messed up.

They called and I didn't answer and yes, it's a Sunday.

Let's remember that the FCC is not interested in helping us, but when they need assistance we had better drop everything. It's ashame that our government does such a poor job of protecting its citizens' rights. what a joke! I usually just block the number. Don't call back, because then they will know that there is actually a live person at that number. If you do, be careful in selecting numbers. You know, some people can steal your identity if you select a certain number on the telephone. Here is something that may work. When they call, answer and pretend that you are a lawyer or local law enforcement. That may work.

Infosystems calling on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, trying to get me to mail solicitation letters to my neighbors.

Have gotten several calls from this number and they hang up on my answering machine.  Called number back and it is the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society.  You can remove your number from their call list.

I called the number back, selected #1 and haven't received another call.

I'm glad you are all concerned about yourselves, and hope you never get sick and need assistance from a great organization like the leukemia and lymphoma society. especially you della, you make me sick. your "mistake and where you went wrong", was not in donating to hospice. get a heart. BTW - you don't have the opportunity to tell cancer you're busy, and to leave you alone on Sunday night. are you saying that the lymphoma society is in the wrong for attempting to raise money for patient aid and research? take your number off the list if you don't want to donate and then get over it.

This number calls me at least 2x a day.  I never answer.

This is extremely irritating.  I already received a call just few days ago from them and and told the woman that I would be willing to send out mailings to people in my neighborhood at my cost in August as a way of "contributing".  Why the hell am I still receiving phone calls from them?  This is so bogus.  They are just going to end up putting people off more than encouraging them to want to make any sort of contribution.

I get calls from this number at least once/day-- just got one today before 9 a.m. and have received them at night as well. Now when I see the number on caller ID, I just click on the "answer" button and then quickly hit the "off" button so at least the phone doesn't ring more than 4 times before the answering machine picks up.

Get calls from this number on numerous occasions. I have caller ID so I don't answer it. Called the number back and it was a recording saying they were trying to reach me for help with their Spring neighbourhood drive. I pressed 1 to be removed and then 3 verifying my phone number, then it asks you to hang up if you are finished. We'll see if that helps or not.

I just called back the 866-323-5429 and followed the prompts to remove my number.  You must listen all the way through their spiel and hit 3 again at the end as well as your telephone number to complete the action.

Who's this? They hang up when I answer! Never leaves a message when tape picks up

Calls are received on my voice mail every day with no message.

What does anyone propose to force the FTC to go after these people and make them honor the "Do not call" or have them prosecuted with a class action suit that would break their bank and send them financially back to the Stone Age?

I called the number and after having to listen to their promotion I was able to request they do not call again. We will see what happens. My personal opinion is that this aggressive telemarketiing does more harm than good to the organization. I personally will support other charitable organizations rather than the Leukemia society.

ALL unsolicited calls need to be banned immediately.

The call was from the Leukemia Society. When I called back, there was a recording going through 2 processes to have your number removed. Stay on the line for the 2nd process, otherwise you may continue to receive calls from this number.

I'm very happy, VERY happy for you that you are doing well.  When my mother had lymphoma the L&L Society were of NO help at all!
I'd like to know what they do with the money....hell I'd like to know what all the charities do with my money?

I now prefer to give my money and time to individuals in need so that I know where my money is going and how it is being spent!  We should all give of ourselves and share but I just want to be sure it is being used properly and helping those that truly need it.

I think all of these calls border on harassment.

I collected for these folks for several years after my friend died of lymphoma, but I fail to understand why when I don't answer immediately they hang up without a message. My husband answered once and told the person we're not able to collect any more, as we're older and already collecting for several charities. It gets embarrassing to always be the neighborhood collector. There are plenty of other women home in this area. The calls stopped for awhile and then started again.

It's annoying.

Rings and rings.  No message left.  Returned call and it was the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society recording asking to send out to neighbors at my expense requests for donations.  Pressed # 1 to remove from list and 2 to end call.

File a complaint with the FCC.  Search FCC complaint.  You can file on line in about 2 minutes.

I too have gotten calls many times daily. However, all you need to do is call the number back and enter your number to be removed.

Calls always come about 8:40 in the evening. Alternate with another number that say Leukemia society. Thank goodness for caller ID...but maybe I should answer and tell them NO!

I haven't talked to a telemarketer or anyone else I didn't want to talk with for about four years.  I am on the no call list, but still get two or three unwanted calls a day from charities, companies where I have accounts, and companies who ignore the no call list.  Four years ago I turned off call screening and the ringer on all my phones but one.  The phone that rings in my house is in a room we rarely use, but you can hear it ring softly from anywhere in the house.  The ring is a pleasant tone.  With call screening turned off, I don't have to sit through annoying messages. When I listen to the message later, I delete the message as soon as I know it's nothing important.  I do answer the phone when caller ID shows it's someone I want to talk with.  We have Direct TV, so our calls show up on the TV screen using caller ID which is a helpful feature.  I use this web site to look up numbers when I'm curious about who is calling.  We have never missed an important phone call, but have missed thousands of unwanted calls.   Life is too short to allow strangers to invade your privacy.   I am thinking about answering one of these calls so I can remember how annoyed I used to get.  Maybe next year.

I kept getting calls from this number two.  I called it back and you can remove your number but there recording says they have 30 days to do it.  You have to press 1 then they have some recording about them to listen to.  Then press 3 then your phone number with area code, then press 1.  Hopefully it works!  I do daycare and I am sick of them waking up the kids at nap time and interupting us.

Keep receiving calls from this number on SUNDAY.  There should be a law against soliciting on Sunday.  I never answer but they keep calling, just about everyday.

This is a telemarketer on behalf of Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  I've tried filing complaints with donotcall.gov, but, as a charity, they're probably exempt.  So, I called the 866 number back and there is an option to remove your number from the list (if you trust it).  Their calling pattern is obnoxious.  Here's my record of their calls:
