They work in the back of a functional Checksmart location. The parking for all of the collections and front end employees is in the back. Andrea drives the Lincoln Navigator that is usually parked first in the line, right next to the dumpster. There are cameras watching and recording all activities there, that's why she parks there. It's the most visible spot for the camera's.

often times... the collection department comes out for a cigarette. very often. if you see pretty much anyone smoking alongside of this checksmart, then you can bet it is the collections department. No one in the check cashing part of checksmart smokes. and if they hired someone who did since I've been there... they would surely smoke with the collections department.

They hang out outside in large groups alongside the building to smoke. acting like thugs. obnoxiously laughing at people and cars as they pass by. they are scared all the time. they wear panic buttons on lanyards in case of a confrontation with anyone. they are not allowed to work for the day without them.

This is the corporate office of CheckSmart.  I called the number and extention and told them they have the wrong number.  I was told they would remove my number from the list.  

Calls my cell phone a few times a week. I have no clue how they got my cell number but it's so annoying. I don't owe a single person money and if i do ... like school loans and other bills .. they are paid of on time every month. I feel like this should be considered harassment.

Ok...I called the local California Check Cashing branch where my loan originated and they told me that I am paid current and there are zero issues.  So, why does this Checksmart keep calling me???  They have called my cell and are now, starting to call my office line.  California Check Cashing is licensed with the California State Department of Corporations and I am going to file a complaint unless they cease and desist from using these incompetent people at Checksmart.  Also, I am paying this balance off at CA Check Cashing and would advise anyone to NOT ever take a loan out from them.  It is not worth the hassle and harassment using these incompetent storefronts.  They should be banned from every state.

Keep calling asking for a Sarah. Told them there was none associated with this number. Take me off your list. Two months later, still receiving calls for Sarah...lady was extremely rude, then told me I had better lose my attitude. Reporting if I receive one more call.

Checksmart is ridiculous.  I cashed a paycheck in the beginning of September.  I got a call in October (and it was later in the afternoon) saying that the check came back for insuffient funds and that I had like 2 hours to pay them back the amount in full plus some stupid fee or I was going to go to prison.   I told them I didn't write the check, they should go after the writer of the check and that I wouldn't cash a check that I knew to be bad.  "Gail" then put me on the phone with her "supervisor" who wouldn't give me his name and he called me every name in the book and demanded I give him the money.  I told him AGAIN that I didn't have the money from a check I cashed a month ago and that he should contact the person that wrote it.  I didn't hear from them again until yesterday.  I got a voicemail from Gail saying that she hopes I enjoy my time in prison and that she is glad someone like me is going to miss seeing my kids grow up.  This is unacceptable to me.  First of all, I had been cashing checks there for at least 10 years so why would I cash a bad one?  And then today I get a letter from them dated January 2nd.  It says that I have 10 days to pay back the money in full they would contact the state police.  The letter was postmarked January 14th which is 12 days after they gave me their 10 day demand!  I contacted an attorney who said this is a tactic they use to scare people into giving them money so they don't lose anything.  Well I am pissed and I am going to figure out who I can report them too.  I am a single mother of 3 small kids, and now I have to worry that the cops are going to break down my door for a check that I didn't even write???

Yes this number continues to call my cell phone and doesn't leave a message, I'm sure I have done business in the past with them, however not recently. My purse was stolen a month ago so am wondering if my ID was used and what I do about it now?

Yeah sometimes they do call you for no reason. I've never had a loan from checksmart. I cashed a check there once because it was close to my job. Now they call me all the time. Maybe you shouldn't be so judgmental.

Thanks for the info everyone!  I JUST got this phone and the number and someone is calling me 6 times a day, told them I was not the person they were looking for and that I just got this phone.  So with your information I found two locations nearby that I WILL visit and have them remove me from there calling list!

Hey there Pete. Interestingly enough, I've never once had any credit problems and have been actively employed and in school since I was 16. I'm 22 now and already a supervisor in a Fortune 500 company where my degree is put to good use. The only reason I'm getting called is because one of my employees used me as a reference without my knowledge. So now I'm trying to fix the issue, and come across your pathetic response. Even if it was my monetary problems that caused me to have to deal with Checksmart's rude ways, it's still completely unacceptable. They are hassling me when I'm definitely not the problem.

Pete - this number called my under-age son, told him that he was a reference for me and DEMANDED he tell them how to contact me.  He said he didn't know where I am or how to reach me. The caller told him to find me and have me call them within 24 hours or he would be in legal trouble.  He asked severaltimes for their name and phone number and they said to just use his Caller ID.

My identity was stolen and I can only assume this is somehow related to that BUT there is NO excuse for threatening a child.  You need to stop watching Maury and pull your head out of your a**.

You shouldn't reply to someone's message that you know nothing about. I am being called by this number is why I looked it up. I have NEVER taken out a pay day loan! So, they obviously are calling me for no reason.

You are right. I am a bill collector, but my company doesn't allow these things to come out of their collectors mouths. If we leave a message or we actually talk to the consumer then we can't call back for a min of 3 days. If we don't, then we can call back the next day and we usually do. U're always gonna get those ppl that say we are harassing them, but when this is the first an only time we've called we're not harassing you. And then u get the ppl who say they don't have the bif (balance in full) but are intent of paying the bit when they have it. Which is confusing to us when we offer affordable and some not so affordable pa (payment arraignments) we even offer stls (settlements) when our clients allow it. I never thought I would be a bill collector, but seeing as I make more then $9/hr and up to an extra $600 for hittin my goal, I can't complain much. I don't make ppl cry or make them feel bad about not being able to repay a debt. So don't compare all of us to every collector u talk too. We've all been there. Trust me. I'm there now, but some of the things I've heard about this company and their collectors is down right degrading. These ppl make consumers hate all bill collectors. Hell I hate them now
