well if you are here then we all know what this is about............ yes i was a victim also,  i was looking at my recent credit card transactions and i noticed one that was from  wal mart.com in airazona and i decided to google my situation and long and behold i was directed to this website and i stated reading some of the messsssages and it took me a while to get the right number to call but i got and i am going to put it here so if you by any means get to this web page then here is the number you need to call and they will take care of it .  1-800-966-6546 options 3&5........  good luck and make your loved ones aware of this crime that is not pregujust in any way  (lol)  have a blessed holiday and a safe one...............jose

If you are in doubt call the Walmart corporate number 479-273-4000 and they will verify that this is not one of their numbers. If people are stating that it is in these messages it's because they are the thieves.

whenever in doubt always get the corporate number of a company online or thru 411 and then call the company and verify if the phone number that was left on your voicemail is real.

I repeat do not fall for this scam, they will pretend that they are helping you and say they are cancelling your order but all they want to do is check if it's clear for them to go to pick up the merchandise. if you get such a call and you know you didn't make the purchase call your credit card/bank immediately to report the identity theft and do not rely on talking to a person on the phone at a number that the real walmart.com does not have in their system.

Received a call today from this number. It is Wal-Mart calling to verify an online order that was placed. This is one phone call that I did not mind. It's good to know that there is a verification process in place for electronics or other large purchases that are shipped.

This is a legit number.  I too was saved from a $99.08 fraudulent charge.  Thank you Walmart.com!

I called walmarts main line, they looked it up using our phone number and found no pending orders. I hope you folks didn't give these people your credit card numbers in order for them to "stop a charge"

Thanks WalMart.Com  I too was called and there was a $732.90 charge for a package due for Chesepeake, VA...not where I live.  I then reviewed my card charges and found another fraud charge just 5 days ago for $514.48 to HP Home Store.  Watch your charges people, Christmas thieves are out in force!  Now had to cancel the card and go through the set up all of our auto-payments...ugghh.  Thanks to Citi too though they were great!

I just received a call from the same number.  I didn't answer it nor did they leave a message.  However, I did call the number back and an IVR voice came on saying, "Welcome to Sears Vacations"

This number called to verify the online purchase, asked only my name and what was purchased, no financial info at all.
I say- legit.

This a legit WalMart number. They called to verify an on-line order using my credit card number.
I had made the purchas and thanked them for calling and find out if I had made the purchas.

When this number called me I thought it MIGHT be a phishing scam, so as usual I gave no information. I went to the Walmart site, checked my orders, then checked my email. An email I just received included the proper order number, and checking the full header showed it was from an actual Walmart email account, and that they only wanted to confirm my bank's telephone number. I called and confirmed the number. This was a valid call.

Got call from 866-371-1946 - (Kevin)- sounded unofficial, but turned out to be legit when I called 1-800-walmart to confirm.

They said they were calling from Walmart order department to verify an order.  We do not have an account and have not placed any order.  No one would ever answer and all I could do was leave a message.

I too got the call from Walmart.  This is legit.  Someone attempted to use my debit card information to purchase items of over 500.00.  My statement shows a pre-appoval.  Thanks to Walmarts, I was not robbed!

it is indeed legit. I ordered my Ipad from walmart.com, they called to verify my purchase. when i told them i did indeed order it online, to pick it up at the store, they released my order for processing.

Legitimate call from Wal-Mart to verify credit card purchase.  Did not ask for any other info other than verifying what you purchased.  Safety counts!!!!

Legit number and please call them back. Wal-Mart.com called to to ask if I ahd palced and online order, which I did not and they reversed the charge. Had I not called them back I would have lost almost $300. I cancelled my debit card and this could have saved me almost $2000 had I not called them back. Nice thing is they do not ask for any financial information (card number or anything else). Thank you WalMart. You have an awesome system to catch orders via stolen debit card numbers. I received a call today from WalMart.  They never asked for any financial or personal information just whether or not I had placed an order for a specific amount by credit card. They said they questioned it because it was not being paid by a paypal service as usual and the shipping address was not one of mine.

The charge is automatically posted to the cc account once the order is placed online. (The quickness of technology) however posted does not mean charged.  In my case it was pending.   Besides WalMart I also had charges to CompUSA who never did call me.  

The heads up from WALMART gave me the opportunity to cancel my credit card.

This is a LEGIT Walmart call and thank goodness we checked into it as someone had made two purchases totalling over $600 at walmart.com and walmart worked with us to stop the purchases.

Totally legit. I have relatives in Brazil that sometimes want items brought to them.  They placed an order in our name with their credit card, no login required. Walmart picked it up as fraud since the relatives CC billing info didn't match the billing info on the order (our home address).  Easy solution.

I'm really suspicious with these kinds of calls, but this one was true.  Confirmed first by going through 1-800-WAL-MART which takes you to a walmart.com line.  They eventually give you this number, which is their billing department.

This is legit.  Walmart is just trying to ensure purchases are legit.  they only asked for me to provide advise one item I purchased and where it was shipping.  I also got an email stating that my order was on hold until financial information was verified.

Like others said, this is a legitimate phone call from Wal-Mart.  

I talked with Steve and he began the conversation right off by telling me he was from Wal-Mart and was calling to verify an on line order.  I told him I had placed one and he asked for the street address the order was being shipped to, I told him I was willing to give him the zip code but not the address and he was perfectly fine with that.  

After listening to my boss on the phone for almost an hour this morning with two different companies because of false charges, I'll gladly take a delayed shipping date if it means Wal-Mart is personally checking with everyone who placed an order with them.

7AM and they start calling, the day after Thanksgiving?  I appreciate the call, but don't ask me for my Street Address and any kind of info like that.  It's not appreciated the day after thanksgiving after shopping online for 8 hours straight!  I got 2-1/2 hours of sleep! ARRRRGGHHHH!!

Legit. Walmart calling to verify order

Received the call this morning from this number asking about an on-line WalMart.com purchase using my Pay-Pal account.  This is legit.  A fradulent charge was placed on my Pay-Pal accout late last night.  Charge has been disputed and all security questions and passwords have been changed.  Thank you to WalMart.com.  Pay-Pal verified that my account had been accessed twice from UT.

I am happy to say that it is a legit number. They also didn't ask for any of my financial information. Just verified my named and what I ordered.

This message is legit...They alerted me to suspicious activity with an online order (over $200) using one of my credit cards...I have never ordered anything online from Wal-Mart so they cancelled the order and I had to cancel my credit card. I have no idea how anyone got my credit card number to place an order although I do have a computer virus that hit my computer the day before this order was place.
