This number is connected to a letter I received with a letterhead that says "US Airlines," which has no return address. The logo seems cheaply done. The letter is offering me two free airline tickets with a value of up to $1,400.00 for travel anywhere within the continental U.S. and further states that "certain restrictions apply."
The envelope was hand-written and addressed to me and has no return address, but is post-marked in Phoenix, AZ.
At the bottom of the letter is some type of code, F D - 58021.
I tried to call the number listed in the letter and it was answered by an automated system with a slight British accent. I was put on hold and transferred a few times, and ultimately asked to leave a message, which, of course, I did not.
I am assuming this is a scam of some sort, but am concerned if they have already been able to access any private information about me.
I think I should take this letter to my local post office and turn it in. Would that be your suggestion??
Thank you.
