I received a call today from a Tim Jeffers stating that I have a case filed against me and I need to contact them immediately.  When I called back, it was a company called liberty.  I have never had any dealing with any such place.

Got a call form Liberty saying I tried to defraud a financial institution and wrote bad checks?  I have never done either so am very confused!

Suspicious and threatening call from "Liberty" reporting "Fraud using my bank account using my SSN", and that "Papers would be filed against me in the LA District court" if I did not call back before the end of the day with documents and employment details." Asked to quote a 5 digit 'case number' .
I am not in LA district, have no dealings with LIberty (bank), and as a newcomer to the US have not disclosed my phone (land-line) number. When I called back the "Office was closed" at 4pm.
Sounds Phishy.
