These morons is just what they are. They won't leave a message so that means its not important. Every morning 7 days a week they call, don't know why they just have to listen to the answering machine, maybe they have a fixation or gets sexual satisfaction from listening to that voice on my answering machine. ha ha ha These are lowlifes, so just don't answer and if you do, don't give them even the time of day, simply hang up.  Of course my poor mother was so easy going she'd talk to anybody and of course and easy going vuleranable person like her is their dream come true. After getting bilked out of $3,000 she had saved for years, they got it, she finally learned her lesson the hard way. these people are cons.

I have recieved 2 calls same time of day. I called them back and spoke to a Mr. Kenndey told him to stop calling I have reported them to the BBB and he ask for my number which I gave we'll see if it stops. They had a warning on Fox news a few days ago about this kind of scam. Don't give any personal info to them you know if your debt is true. They prey on the elderly like myself. So please don't give them anything.

I continued to receive calls from this company daily, sometimes multiple times a day. I did some research and found it was linked to Allied Interstate. Telephone: 1-800-811-4214. I called, selected option two, was connected to someone very nice. Told them I continued to receive calls from the number, no one on the other end and no messages, just hang up calls. I said I wanna know why you are calling me. She asked for the phone number being called, I gave my phone number, told me they were looking for someone named Penny, I said I live here and no one named Penny lives here. She said she would remove my number (takes 24-48) hours. I got the agents name, so if it doesn't stop, I have information I can use to report to the Better Business Bureau. In my experience, that's the only way to stop these things.

I keep receiving calls from this number 866-383-5102, whiich is ALLIED INTERSTATE, a debt collection agency.  After two months of telling them they had the wrong telephone number for the person they were attempting to reach, I spoke with a manager.  The manager told me he would contact his departments globally and ask them to remove my telephone number to prevent further calls.  The manager's name is John and his direct telephone number is (973) 944-3908.  Call him, if you continue to receive phone calls.

Calls come in everyday I can't afford Caller ID Old and on fixed Income. Hard for me to walk so I have to get up limp to the phone and no one is there? Annoying there should be a law against this harassment

This number has been calling me as well funny thing is the number that they are calling isn't even in my name this is a phone that is given to me by a friend. So I am not sure how they are able to see how they are able to link it me. They have been calling non-stop at first I did not answer since I did not know the number and when I did answer the call the first time no one answered and on the second time the person was like hello hello and then hung up. So now when they call I pretend to be some lame company so they just hang up but the idiots still calls on a regular basis you would think if you call once and you get a company you would take the number off but noooo way they are gonna call an call an call and call. these people are just not going to stop they should be sued and stopped!!

Just a warning,

I have been receiving multiple calls from this number, and finally called them back.  They claimed to be collecting for an ER visit several months ago (for which my bank statement shows I'd payed).  Upon contacting the hospital, they confirmed that my account was clear, and more importantly, that the company that's been calling me ("Allied") isn't even a collection agency that work with.

Total scam.

I keep getting calls at my place of empolyment from this company. It is NCO a debt collection agency. I have asked them every single time that I have talked to them not to call my place of employment and they keep on. My advice to you is to record all conversations with this company. They use illegeal means to collect the debt that you owe. This way you can take them to court and sue them. Make them pay you.

Why are these people calling my cell phone?

This is really a reply to everyone - from one of the "sharks"...

1)  NEVER agree to a payment without first having them send you something in writing.  A legit company will send you a notice explaining what it is you owe and give you the opportunity to dispute it.

2)  If you tell them not to call you at work, then THEY CAN NOT CALL YOU AT WORK.  This is a violation of the FDCPA.

3)  They can call your home a thousand times a day trying to reach a live person.  If, however, they speak to someone, they can't call back any more that day.  Period.

4)  Most importantly, Edith Ann...THEY CANNOT THREATEN OR HARRASS YOU IN ANY WAY.  Something alot of people don't realize is that FDCPA violations are never just against the collection company - they are against the collector too.  What I mean is...if Joe Schmoe calls you from ABC collections and threatens to come to your workplace, you can sue ABC collections AND Joe Schmoe.  So, if you do decide you want to talk to them, make sure you get all the info you can...their name, the company, where they are located....really pick their brain.  Then if you really want to throw them for a loop, tell them in a calm voice "you've violated my rights under the FDCPA and I intend to take action".

I've done this job for a long long time for a bunch of different agencies.  Yeah, we're hated, but necessary.  Good companies will work with people, treat them with respect, and in a good number of cases, get whatever debt they are being called about reduced and even cleared from their credit.    It's morons like the one that called Edith Ann that give us all a bad name, and that's why I go out of my way to help the people understand their rights.
