This number called and I did not initially pick up. When I called back the automated service announced that it was Verizon. The automated service asked for phone number and pin #. I hung up and dialed Verizon directly (*611 on your cell phone). Verizon looked up the number and explained that the 866 number that called me is NOT ONE OF VERIZON'S REGISTERED NUMBERS.

If you did give out your information, call Verizon immediately and explain to them your situation.

Again, this IS NOT VERIZON. If you need assurance, call the real Verizon # and ask them like I did.

I got the same call twice today from # 866-396-5999 ... I didn't pick it up. If the caller doesn't think it's important enough to leave a message, [even after calling twice]  then it's NOT IMPORTANT. Most Telemarketers don't bother leaving messages.

I have gotten to much calls from this number.

Just got a call from this number, asking for blip blip I know who blip blip is but they call my phone and they said they are from Verison... You would think they know who they are talking to?  Strange call was this a telemarketer?

I got a call from this number yesterday.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message, so it reads as some sort of scam to me.

If someone ever asks for your password, tell 'em to screw off!

I just called and they are legit.  They do ask for your password upfront (or last 4 of ss#).  IT IS VERIZON wireless.  They are calling to review your account or let you know that you are eligible for a phone upgrade.

Just got a call too. ID'd themsleves as VZ and wanted to remind me I have earned a new phone after being a customer for long enough. and thanked me for my business. Very nice, a bit hard to understand but polite and to the point.

ya i got a call just a few minutes ago  but i did not answer it cause i screen my calls... from the looksw of it they are quite anoy;n this month my advice if u have a v phone don't talk to this number, it;s some kind of id scam!

In my case they're to find info on a friend. If they were who they said(Verizon) they'd know how to contact him. Tell them nothing.

Received call from 866-396-5999.  I called back.  It was Verizon Wireless.  They asked for my mobile number and my account password number (which I did not give) and then I hung up.
