Debt Collector
A message that this was a "debt collector" and I needed to call them back at 866-403-6880. I have NEVER subscribed to XM radio. My new car did come with a 'free trial period" but everytime they called me to subscribe I refused because I do not listen to it. I tried to call this number back but the message stated I had called after hours...whatever.... who are these people. I haven't had XM radio service in over a year!!!
This is BS!

Debt Collector
EOS CCA - Another Dirtbag Collector.
20 Minuteman Way Brockton MA US 02301

PEOPLE, do yourself a favor.. Don't ever ignore a collection letter from ANY collection agency.
CEASE AND DESIST it and they can't call or bother you again.

I have sued many dirtbag and bottom feeders and won - and it's so darn easy to do.
They have no proof it's your bill until they send it to you - and even if it is yours you have the power to stop them!

Remember, Send out your Cease and Desist Certified so they can't say they didn't get it -- Do not talk to these people on the phone - Hang up - If they call back, Hang up - and if they continue to call, remember, they are wearing headsets...lower your voice to practically a whisper so they have to turn up the volume on the headset to hear you...then BLOW A WHISTLE or Air Horn into the phone -- They will not call back!!

Try calling XM directly...that is what I did as I cancelled the service and they still sent me another bill, then apparently sent it to this agency.  If you call XM directly and chew them out, they will fix it.  Be sure and keep good logs of all contact (phone, mail, dates) for proof....

Today at 4:42PM central time I received a call from this service saying it is an urgent business matter and not a solicitors call.  The voice automated system told me to call 866-403-6880 and reference a number that was 8 digits long 358X7X4X.  I recently purchases a car with XM radio in it and called to have the trial service activated.  When I setup the account I told them to bill me by paper and promptly cancelled at the end of my trial when they sent a bill.  When I cancelled, I made sure the balance I owed them was zero and said maybe in the future I might want to use your services again.  They said promotional offers were random and available to different customers.  About two weeks later I got a call from a representative at XM offering me half off the monthly cost for a year at 6.42 a month.  I turned this down.  Then they asked if I was interested in premium content like Howard Stern and Martha Stewart and I said I use only the popular music stations, so no.  Then they offered me 19.99 for 5 months, rounding out to 4 a month.  The man on the phone said my account was closed and I owed nothing when I cancelled.

Just started getting the calls like 5x/day.  I told XM I wasn't interested in continuing my free trial I got with my new car and they asked if I wanted to try it for 3 months for 15.00 and I said OK.  They asked for a CC# and I wouldn't give it to them - sent a check instead.  They kept on the service after the 3 months and are now trying to do what everyone else is writing about I guess!

I got my first call today from them.  I had XM radio with a new car, but did not want it past the free trial.  I called them twice and got their message hold times are usually less than 60 seconds over and over, hung up after 10 minutes.  The weird thing is I was thinking of renewing with XM, but if they do business with such bottom feeders, I won't bother.

I guess, it happened to me too.  I got the stupid 866 called from Dan Turner  yesterday and I tried to call back. Keep getting the Loop greeting.   I guess i will not call them back at all.  My contract end in the end of July 08.   Now i get the stupid call from CCA cuz they can't charge the card.   Best bet to use the Virtual credit card from Citibank for these kind of service or else they will keep charging you for it.   thanks for the info on here.

I got the phone call which registered as an unknown number, with a recorded message telling me this was a time sensitive matter and they "expect" me to call back to 866-403-6880 "within 1 business day" I came onto here to find out who could be calling me and lo it is XM radio. The thing is, I never had an account. It was my ex-fiance's and he cancelled it almost 2 years ago! It was indeed registered to my current cell phone number, which was once his. I brought this to his attention (he's been trying to clear up his credit and this is the last thing he needs) and he told me he cleared it up with XM over a year ago. I've called to tell them that they are looking for my ex and, no I don't have his phone number, but they still call me. Pain in the rear. I really don't think this will help anyone else, but I just really felt the need to vent. Thanks for reading.

XM Radio is run by thugs who resort to extortion to bring in money. I paid for one year of service IN ADVANCE and did not renew when the bill came. They claimed that this was not good enough to cancel my subscription and renewed my account and then sent me to collections. This is a scam plain and simple. XM would do nothing until I involved the state attorney general and then zeroed my balance with no questions asked! Talk about a poor business strategy. If they had simply did this when I called customer service, I might have thought about resubscribing in the future. Now, they have lost a customer for life.

The credit agency CCA also did not obey my request for them not to call me back in the future.

the number is the direct line for XM Radio collections at Collection Co of America. I know many are disturbed by the messages and the refusal to disclose information but it goes like this-being a collection agency CCA tends to the debtor's privacy and can only disclose info if debtor on the phone with phone# and address is verified or to spouse if answered yes to "to you share financial responsibility". the office is in Norwell, MA and I used to work for them.,so dont be mad, we are usually young and nice people :)

Same deal.  I received a 1 year subscription as a gift and did not renew.  I wondered who was calling from an 866 number and leaving the cryptic message.  Now I know.  I'll be sure and warn all my friends about XM!

My wife got a voice message requesting to return the call to 866.403.6880. The funny thing is that that is not even her number in the account!!!!!! I cancelled my XM account in FEB (I wasn't using it) so I called XM after visiting this web site, and they told me the balance was zero (XM!!!) I called back to the 866 number and they requested to pay like 140 dollars or something... and I explain the situation, the operator "accessed" the account and said that I still owed 2.17... hahah "they must to have waive your debt".
this is Fraud... were can I report these guys?

Voice mail message only states to call back regarding a time sensitive matter.  We also have a closed XM account, but after several extended calls with XM customer "care" reps, they say that even though we didn't acknowledge continuation of the XM service that came with the car when I purchased it, we didn't call and CANCEL the service - and that's the catch.  If you don't want the service and just don't renew it, that's not good enough according to the rep.  If you don't call and cancel, the service continues and goes to a quarterly billing cycle, and then it's shut off due to nonpayment.  But they still want the quarter of service they say you had but didn't authorize.  I'd like to know why it's legal for XM to assume you want to keep a service you didn't authorize.  I can't get anywhere with the XM customer care reps because they just keep reading the piece of paper in front of them...they also said they would transfer me to a supervisor and never was. They also won't tell you who is calling or give you the number to contact them.  The rep told me to talk to them next time they called or return the call if they left a voice message.

I have cancelled XM over 8 months ago.  Got the call today on the machine from some foreign speaking individual you could bearly understand.  Thanks to this site I won't be returning again, (tried and got his machine) We have spoke with XM numerous times and stated we didn't not give them authorization to continue service and if they did, that it was there problem.  Because I hated the XM radio anyways and got it on a new car.  I had to give cc# to activate, of course I gave a card that expired during the year.  So they continued the service without authorization.

Same as previous reports. Via phone calls I did not respond to, & then a CCA letter I received 20 days ago, CCA is dunning me for a supposedly 1 month deliquent balance on my cancelled account. CCA letter shows my XM cancelled subscription account number & actual cancelled billing period statement balance prior to prorated credit. Called the CCA number in response to the dun letter & they put a 15 day hold on the matter while I resolve it with XM. Call to XM radio confirmed my account was closed with a small prorated balance after canceling 3 days into a new billing period & that I paid XM that balance by phone ccard transaction on statement due date. XM to notify CCA. This whole thing repeated again now 20 days later with "call 866-403-6880" phone message & my calls again to XM cust. serv. rep. who listened then put me on hold & came back with a "XM does not use 3rd party collection agencies" statement & that my closed account shows a $2.17 credit balance. Call to CCA & discussion with a "supervisor" who supposedly accessed the XM billing system (isn't that strange) & saw the resolved zero balance account info(due to a write-off of the $2.17 credit balance he said), will supposedly close the matter. CCA says XM cust.serv.rep. was wrong about CCA/XM client relationship & must have been an uninformed off shore call center person (who sounded very USA'ish to me verses the CCA persons), & to have no fear because CCA does not report deliquent accounts to credit bureaus, & he would put a 30 day hold on the account & that I should not receive any more calls. Sorry about the phrasing and sentence run-ons in this message. I ain't no English composition major.

Well If they are working for XM all I have to say is they shouldnt, the whole reason I dont have XM anymore is because they stopped taking the money from my account and then accused me of not paying.

This company has called me for more than six months, today (12-6-07) being the latest. They are working for XM radio, who tried to bill me for service after my original subscription expired. Since I used one of those one-time credit card numbers, the charge failed. So, instead of letting it go, they turn it over to this sham collection agency based in Massachusetts I believe, and they harass ex-customers.

XM is like a magazine subscription - if you don't pay, no service. The only reason they would use a sham outfit like this is because they are desperate for customers and they think they can scare them into paying.
