I got this call today in St. John's, Newfoundland. I don't know what it is about, it's kinda freaking me out though.

i DON'T KNOW WHY OR WHO CALL ME

thier message was for some person, not me, and they say it's urgent this person calls them regarding a file, but they never seem to pick up the phone over there. Problem a scam of some sort, but I hate that they are wasting my cell minutes!

I went ahead and returned the call, mostly because I could barely understand what the man had been saying in the message.

Apparently this is a legal collection firm hired by GoodLife Fitness to collect on overdue accounts.

They wanted me to arrange a payment with them and I told the woman point-blank that I could hear telemarketers at work in the noisy background and that I did not believe she was calling from a legitimate Barrister/Soliciter's office. She told me I could contact that Law Society of Upper Canada to verify the legitimacy of their operation and I have done so. She also said that, if I preferred, I could go in and pay my overdue account at the gym directly.
Here is what I received back from the Law Society of Upper Canada:
I am in receipt of your inquiry regarding the verification of a lawyer that you believe is named Casey Von Morlehan.

I can confirm that we do have a William Casey Von Moorlehem listed as a lawyer licensee with the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is currently listed as a Sole Practitioner and is in good standing.
