Three calls received in an 8 hour period with a recorded sales message. When I called the number shown on the call display - I was given a recording with another number to call., When I tried that number, I was told that they were "closed"

They sent an email saying that my number had been removed from their lists - then an hour later I got the same kind of recorded sales call.

Have received numerous calls from the following number 1-519-346-2517 which when looked up in the 411 directory identifies the number only as a landline based in Sarnia , caller ID only says unknown caller . When my answering machine picks up no message is recorded . When I personally answer a recorded message refers to Premier Life and General Insurance , but one must phone the following number 866-449-4430 to get removed from their calling list . This is nothing short of blackmail by phone . They won't talk to you directly when they call , and they call several times a day , but require that you call them to get removed from their call list . I never did invite them to call me , and have never solicited their services in any way , so why should I have to cancel their insistant and totally un-wanted calls . I have an elderly wife with a heart condition ! I would like this to stop !!

THIS IS AN EMAIL (SEE BELOW) I RECEIVED YESTERDAY FROM THE COMPANY THAT ACTS AS THE DIRECT CALL SERVICE FOR PREMIER - I THINK IT"S A SCAM AND REFLECTS BADLY ON THE INSURANCE CO., WHICH IS A DIVISION of AGEON BY THE WAY.

It is never our intent and would serve no business purpose to repeatedly call a number where someone has requested a DNC. It is a very simple process for us to remove a number and would take far less time than the several communications we have had with you.

The 519 number is an Ontario number. Our offices are located in Montreal Canada and our call display numbers are either 1-514 numbers or 1-800 type numbers.

The 519 number you are calling is Canadian Premier. Although we do outbound calling for Canadian Premier it is not solicitation but rather as follow up calling for inbound calls we receive. Please be advised that more than one telemarketing center does calling for Canadian Premier.

We will forward your number as a courtesy to our Canadian Premier contacts and request the DNC action you require. However, as we have no control over what happens at that point we can not guarantee the action that will be taken. I will endeavour to impress upon them the importance of this request but it will be in their hands.

I very much sympathize with the inconvenience calls of this nature are to a person in your situation and please believe me if there was anything else we could do we would.

Although the watchdog websites are a useful consumer tool and one which we support as it keeps the industry in line with consumer desires, you must use caution when it comes to the information contained upon them. There are rarely any sort of information checking that occurs on those sites so people can literally attribute calls to whomever they wish. Someone could go on there and claim you were the one calling them and there is nothing you can do to refute that mistaken fact.

I understand your desire to stop these calls and appreciate that you are prepared to take whatever action you need to to stop the calls. However, I would encourage you to stay on the line of the 866 number you are calling and speak to one of the representatives and request the DNC from them and confirm what information you would require to take legal action. Believe it or not we encourage action to be taken in situations where telemarketing is causing distress as those situations harm our business and color it unfairly for those of us who do take pride in adhering to the DNC legislations.

I get them 2-3 times a day and it's really annoying
