This is the fourth or fifth day in a row this sketchy number has called me. There is never a person calling, always a machine. When it "transfers" me to an actual caller, they are foreign and say my balance is passed due on a credit card. A card with a balance I don't even have and then they pry to get me to give them my account number. Harrassment at it's finest, especially since today is Memorial Day! If it was a bank they should be closed, yet they called me at 8:30 this morning!!!!!

This number called me, literally, 23 times a day, every day, for weeks, between 8:30am and 9pm.
i went to BBB, filed a complaint.  Their lawyer responded with all kinds of paperwork about how they didn't do that, they don't do anything like that, etc. This was just over a year ago.

Then, just about 2 weeks ago, i received several hundred dollars in the mail due to a class action lawsuit against 5/3.

They called me looking for someone that was not even close to my name.  I said I was not that person, what was it about?  They asked if I was that person, and I said, I already answered that.  The guy from "5/3" said "You are being ignorant, have a nice day."

5/3 is a terrible bank with terrible customer service and someone I will never do business with.

And what kind of idiotic name is "Fifth Third" anyway?

This is the most asinine bank I have ever encountered my payment is not due until the twelfth of the month but they start calling by the first of the month hoping to be assured that I am going to make a payment, I haven't been late with a payment yet but they worry about it every month, I always wind up talking to a woman with a thick accent that is hard to understand and very rude. She calls me and demands to know my phone number, credit card number and checking account routing numbers. Very unprofessional and rude, I will never do business with them again!

I just recieved a call from this number. I said hello a few times, but nobody spoke, then when I looked at my phone to see if it disconnected, I heard talking so listened but then he goes "Hello?" and I said "who is this?" and he said he was from 5/3 bank. I told him nobody at this number banks there, and he got real snotty with me and said "well why didn't you tell me that before I started asking you questions?" So I replied "I'm sorry, I didn't hear anybody talking. That's why I said hello four times." And the guy hung up on me! If this really is from a 5/3 bank, it certainly does not make me want to ever bank with them!!

I have been getting calls from this number almost daily. A man with a thick Indian accent asks for my husband and says he (the caller) is from 5/3 bank. We have accounts with this bank and are set up for email alerts. This person asks for my husband to call him and then hangs up w/o giving me a phone number. I checked the 'Message Center' on the online banking website and we had no outstanding messages. This really sounds very shady and if you get farther than 'Hello, this is 5/3 Bank', ask for the associate name and ID number. Then call your local branch or the bank headquarters in Ohio. Don't ever give out your personal info - the website specifically states they will NOT ask for that info.

This is a SCAM.  Left a voice mail said they were from First Third and too call a separate 800 number and it was critical to call them today.  In the first place, if it was a legitimately from First Third they would have stated briefly what the matter was first.  If it was a collections agency, they wouldn't bother leaving a voice mail because they aren't paid for it and wouldn't get called back anyway.

The bank name is not a scam, but the call is.  My caller informed me that I was in default by over $500 on a credit card payment and was about to ask me to pay over the phone. As Jessica says, NEVER give that info over the phone!  I told him that 1) I had paid on credit card (he said they had no record of it), 2) I dont' divulge info over the phone - as advised by my BANK, and 3) my office is a block from the bank and I'd walk there to verify immediately. He warned me that I could keep getting calls if I don't address it now, then thanked me for my time and hung up fast.

This is a very good scam. I took the number and the message they left me to fifththird bank directly, this has no relation to fifththird but the messages sound almost identical. DO NOT fall for this DO NOT give them personal information. They are trying to get your personal information, if you have an account at fifththird call them directly do not call this number. This is a very legitimate sounding message center but I repeat this number has nothing to do with fifththird bank and is a complete scam to get your identity and personal information.

They called  Sunday afternoon and again Monday morning. They asked for my husband. My husband and I do not have an account with Fifth Third Bank. The eldest daughter has a car loan through them but her payment is not past due at all. When they called on Sunday, I asked who it was and the caller just give me his first name. When I pushed and asked who he was with, that's what he said he was with first Fifth Third Bank.

if it wasn't a scam they would leave messages. Also this has to be a robo calling system because they keep calling the phones where I work at even on Sundays. No bank works on Sunday.

This number keeps calling my grandmother's cell phone. It is a real annoyance to her. Being to dumb to wait and find a website like this first, I texted the number on her phone and told them there is no Christopher here. (They call and ask for a Christopher) now they keep calling her even more. She's gotten about 8 calls today. I believe it's a scam.

Just received a call from this number. It's 9 PM on a Wednesday night. It sounded like there was people in the background and it also sounded like an old woman. They asked if they were speaking to Sarah, at least that's what the name sounded like. I said 'Sarah? Yes I'm her' but they hung up. This is my first call I have received from this number. I have never had an account with 5/3 bank. I really hope they never call me again

This must be a scam.  I have no accounts with 5/3 bank, no credit cards, no loans. I have never received a bill from them in the mail.  And yet I owe them money?  I don't owe anybody money!  They call almost every morning between 8AM and 8:05AM.   Callers all have accents though their English is pretty good.  I have asked them to stop calling, take me off the list, threatened to record the phone call, and my husband has screamed profanity into the phone since they do wake us up on occasion.  But, nothing stops them.  I assume the calls are computer dialed since they come through at the same time everyday with such precision. There is always a live person on the other line when they call me.  I don't want to disconnect my phone at night for fear that my elderly parents might need to get a hold of me.  I have filed a complaint with the FTC and FCC.  I wish everyone else would do the same.

I work in a call center for a doctor's office and this number came up.  They asked for one of the doctors and when I asked who was calling she just said, "Tallia."  She would not give me any other information and just said she'd call back later.

This is a SCAM!!! Yes, Fifth Third is a real bank, but these people are not from Fifth Third. They keep calling almost daily from multiple numbers. We don't know how to keep them from calling. We called the bank, already knowing this was a scam from searching this phone number online and seeing all the postings about it being a scam. One night when they called, my husband decided to listen to them, knowing they were a scam, and the person told him he was credit card bill was overdue and he needed to pay it. First of all, we knew we weren't over due on any bills, plus we had not used that credit card in over a year. But the first red flag, had we not known it was a scam, was you will get notices in the mail for months about an over due bill. Secondly, the bank usually doesn't call and if they do it's not at 7PM. My husband decided to check our accounts with the bank, and found out that the card we weren't using, the number had been stolen and someone had been using it for months (they did not have the 3 digit security code from the back). This person using it was shopping locally but we don't know if by internet or in person. But they have been charging two "sick in the head" porn sites monthly for more than six months and was now over the limit. We use lifelock, but the person using the card didn't do anything that would trigger lifelock notifying us. The person uses it in small amounts at a time. We called the bank and blocked the card. I imagine the people using the card are the ones calling wanting us to pay down the card so they can keep using it. Sometimes the calls come from this phone number, other times from other phone numbers. NEVER give any personal or banking information to anyone who calls you. Hang up and call the bank or company yourself and look up the phone number yourself, don't dial any numbers or give any codes these people say to give. Report the phone number and the situation to your state attorney general. Also if you have caller ID, write down all the numbers the scammers call from (sometimes they block the calls) and turn that over to the attorney general. Mark the dates and times called also. I don't know if we can stop these people. But if you do have credit cards, be sure to check all the charges to be sure they are YOUR charges.

Have been getting multiple calls from this number so I called it back myself. It has a automated service that states it is 5/3. I didn't give any personal information other then name so they stated that they could not give me the information as to why they were calling other then their department was "early collections". There is no way I am in any type of collections for anything.  I called my local branch and they stated this is NOT a 5/3 number. BE CAREFUL!!

Keep getting calls from this number.  The phone goes dead or they hang up when you answer.  Gets really annoying, especially at 8:00 a.m. on weekends.
