I block this number and they keep calling...

Get calls from this number several times a day. They have called 15 times in about 4 days. Often, when I answer there is no one there. So annoying. The one time I actually spoke to someone they asked me what my phone number was......

Why hasn't the FCC or FTC come down hard on DirecTV about this? If it IS DirecTV.

I got a brand-new phone on Friday, and SIX calls from this number on Saturday, then another two calls today (Sunday). Obviously, they're looking for someone else...some deadbeat.

It's Directv. even after you make your payment in full they still call.... The end our contract with them cannot happen fast enough!

Got a call and asked for some one who does not live here.  When told it was a wrong number, just hung up.

If you call the number back, it connects to DirecTV.  When I was connected to a representative, I told her I had been receiving these automated calls and to please remove me from their lists.  She said she would do it immediately as my acct was fine.  We'll see.

I have been getting calls every morning at 8 am. I called and yelled at them they said their supervisor took me off. Week later... Still getting calls! And I don't even have direct tv! I still live at home w my parents and they have comcast!!

Yes it is directv calling about an over due balance.

It is not DirecTV.  You are being audited by the IRS. This is their way of identifying if you number is valid and your location.  Got a call from this number and within a couple of hours, the IRS agents were at the door.  They took my computer and everything not nailed down.  If you get a call from this number, RUN AND HIDE.

Calls time after time, and no voice mail...

We just got a call from this number (on a Saturday evening). My wife was talking to the guy who said our DirectTV would be shut off in 10 days if we didn't pay. She said she'd just mailed the payment (which she had), so they would get it well before the cutoff time. He kept trying to tell her she needed to pay NOW on the phone, and she kept saying she wouldn't, since she had just mailed payment. He then just hung up in the middle of the conversation. A total scam.

Keep getting calls saying it is Direct TV and my account is past due.  My payment (which I have already made for December) isn't even due to the 11th. so how can my account be past due on the 8th?  Total scam and very irritating.  Can not block calls on my cellphone, so I finally have added the number to my contacts under "Scam" and assigned a "NO RING" ringtone.  Sometimes I wish I had their number and could call them all day every hour or so.

Having received several calls to my wife's cell phone from 866-478-9812, I called that number and the lady who answered answered as Direct TV.  I asked that our number be removed from their dialer as we were on the Do Not Call list.  She said she would remove it right away. The interesting thing is that she said they were calling a customer who had that number in 2009.  We, however, have had the phone number for several years.  A mistake in their records?  Perhaps.  But seeing the number of complaints in this forum I wonder.

I called the number back and was greeted by a DirectTV representative.  I would not give her any personal information except the phone number that they used to call me.  She informed me of my DirectTV account balance and stated that it was 6 days past due. She would not tell me my name and address, but did tell me the initials of my name and my zipcode.  She also told me the first 5 numbers of my account number.  I felt confident that it was indeed DirectTV as the account balance matched exactly to my account I was viewing online. She let me know that it is an autodialer and that many customers complain about the phone calls.  I recommended they leave a voicemail bc that is just ridiculous.  I pay my bills on time and one time I am 6 DAYS LATE... not like this is horribly late... especially when I have been getting the calls for almost a week. I did not make a payment via phone (just to be safe), but I will go online to do so.  For those of you who have never had DirectTV... the woman on the line could not understand why you would be getting calls.

Do not give out your information to this number. They claim to be direct tv, will try to get your personal information. This is a SCAM. I have contacted direct tv and their fraud department and these people will be charged for stealing identities.

This is direct t.v., I just called them. The lady said it is their auto dialer number and it doesn't leave a message because it's on a delay.  It is their collection department and if you have never had direct t.v. and are receiving calls it's probably because the number you have is a number that was used in the past with one of their customers.

Just call them and let them know the person they are looking for no longer has that number and you now have the number so ask them to stop calling and they should-- good luck!

Got this call but must be on an automatic dialer as no one was on the line when I picked up.  Constant calls.  I am on the no-call list.

Received call on Sunday around 4:00pm. No message left

Any ideas on how to stop receiving calls from this number?  I get calls from this number several times a day.  No one is ever there.
