Relentless text messages about a credit card problem
| joe 2011-06-06 21:02:12 Unknown |
This is a phishing scam.
Anyone know how to report this to the FBI?
The FBI site doesn't seem to have anything for cell phone phishing scams.

Just got my 2nd text asking me to call this #, about a US Bank credit card I don't have. Wonder if they're targeting Ohio phone #s? I have a 937 area code, but I now live in California...

I received a text as well, but the text # showed up as an email address serv5183@messaging.sprintpcs.com I dont have a US Bank account either, and I also have a 937 area code.

Have received text messages all week and messages vary from their is a problem with my US Bank credit card (don't have one) to my account needs to be reactivated. Called the number and was an automated line requesting that I input my account number. Tried to get an operator but no luck. Called number again a few minutes later and was told that the person I was calling was unavailable. This isn't the first time I have received these texts. Does anyone know what to do about this. This is clearly a skam.

Yeah these morons texted me at 4:40 AM on a Sunday. (How many business do that?!) I called back just for fun and I suggest you do the same. The fun part is when they ask for your digits and you just start making up numbers and they accept them. That means they are going to waste their time encoding a magnetic strip on a blank card and go to a US Bank ATM and be disappointed when the PIN doesn't work. Haha! Silly AssEaters.

same texts as everyone else, just got my 3rd. Called my service provider and they are turning it over to the fraud dept. for investigation and they suggested I call my local law enforcement. I've been responding to their texts with profanity....doesnt solve anything but it is fun.

I have received 4 text messages in the last 3 weeks. Last one, 12/05/2009. Wanted card number etc. hung up....

Just adding to the list - I've recieved it twice now. Also the (937) area code. I reported it to Sprint first (since it comes from sprintpcs.com), and they removed the charges for the texts. Next, they connected me to the fraud department. That department told me they are aware of the issue and working to stop it. In the mean time, they said if I get anymore just keep reporting them to customer service so they can remove the charge. (12.8.09)

I've gotten about 45 spam texts from this number, as have my parents.
I'm ready to take the law into my own hands if they don't stop.
