They keep calling us looking for someone we've never heard of. Multiple requests that our number was removed from their scam list were fruitless.
This outfit is registered in Maine as a foreign (!!!) entity. You can file complaints with the Maine Attorney General's office, FCC, and BBB. I did.
Shall they burn, scammers!

These scam artists called me on both my home and cell phone numbers -- they may have been looking for my ex, but that's hard to believe since we've been divorced for 20 years.  They were rude beyond belief.  I had my attorney call them; they refused to provide any information to my attorney, including whether they are a "debt collection agency."  They gave my attorney an address in Bangor, Maine (and they called from telephone number:  207/512-5389.  They were advised they would be reported to the Texas Attorney General; I have not heard from them since.  There was a lot of noise in the background of people making phone calls, so I can only imagine what they are up to and then move on to a different address/phone number.  BEWARE!  Even a zombie debt collector will identify themselves.

They threatened me today and I am not the person that they were looking for, but they accused me of saying I was him.  My mother has just gotten home from the hospital and I had informed them that they need to take my number off.  Every person I spoke with was rude and hung up on me, when they were pressed for more information.  WOW!

dude you are a fricking liar - for one anything like that stays on your cr for 7 years from the last date of activity - not to mention if there is a balance of 12k owed and you SETTLED for 7k then they would have to send you a 1099 form for the remaining 5k as you would have to report that to uncle sam as taxable income - in otherwords the difference in the settled amount you have to report that is $ you made

You want to know how to shut every collection company down in America? Its real simple pay your bills on time then they will never call you. You debtors spend so much time and effort talking about collection companies and trying to dodge them just pay your dam bills. You are the low lifes and bottom feeders (i really like that term you all use) steeling money from creditors then bitching about it on these stupid chat boards. Go out and get a f****ng job and pay your bills, you guys are the reason for the ecomic problems in this country..

I received numerous calls about past debts I owed, come to find out, I never owed those debts. The guys from Bryant Hodges kept calling and harrassing me, they said they wanted to work with me, but how can that be when they bully over the phone and yell at you? I checked my credit report and never saw anything about these debts on my record. I told the last guy that called and harrassed me and to this date, I have not received anything from them. I kept all their mail that they sent to me though in case something goes down. Every letter I received had different amounts owed, and even different cards which I never signed up for. I don't care what anyone says on this board, there is something up with this group and I know it because I have dealt with them too many times.  Especially their treatment I will not forget. They were a constant pain in the butt. Sometimes I'd get 4 phonecalls in one day and 3 letters a week. I kept a record of all their dealings and am just waiting to see what they'll come up with next. It's been awhile since they sent me anything since I told them all these things I owed is not showing up on my credit report and how come. Haha....how funny.

I just received a call from this creditor. They use the name Bryan Hodge and associates to try and intimidate people to pay. The debt collector was arguing with me to pay. This was from a Debt in 2001. We are now in 2011. The reason they use Bryan Hodge and Associates is because there is a stue of limitations in which a state has to sue you for credit card debt. In California it is four years. For your state go to this website:
http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/c ... ations-1282.php
They are NOT lawyers if you look up their name with your local attorney bar they are not registered & do not have a bar#. These people are worthless.  Do not believe they can sue you. You are protected by law. Luckily I know the laws because of what I do for a living and know they are making false threats to try and get people to pay. I hope this info helps everybody that is being harrased by these people. Tell them to stop harrasing you and that your lawyer will be in contact with them. Do NOT confirm any of your personal information with them.

I spoke with Mr Stone today about a B of A debt. The debt was not mine. I have a very common name and get calls like this all of the time. Apparently these folks call all people with alike names to the debtor that they are looking for. My area code is not even in the correct city that they had for the debtor. I pay all of my bills and have several lines of credit with B of A. If I was in default, B of A would not continue to do business with me.

As for Mr Stone and Bryant Hodge and Assoc., Gentlemen you need to do your homework and do a better job investigating someone before you call. It is very easy to identify someone these days.

Don't be fooled by these people and don't pay them. I have done the reasearch. They can not continue to harrass you without first supplying you proper documentation. Research your State's laws. There are Federal and State regulations governing their actions.

Stand up for yourself and take action. File complains if this continues. Contact your State and Federal Representatives for help. The sooner we all act, the sooner the government will react.

Mr Stone, I must complement you on several of these emails that you have written. It's a shame that you you don't spend more time researching the correct debtor you are looking for instead of spending time on this site!

I don't know how I came across this web page but I did and started to read these postings. I think its funny to read all these comments by these dead beats saying not to pay ur bills. I wouldn't take there advice. The people writing these comments probably owe the whole world money. I bet they don't own anything. They probably rent a apartment with 10 other people (cuz they can't afford it themselfs) and collect ssi or disability. There probably also divorced with 5 kids as well. The way I look at it is if I was to lend someone $1000 I would expect them to pay me back. Same thing with the credit card people they r lending u $1000's of dollars and they expect it back within a certain time frame without any excuses. How would u like it if the person u lent money to was giving u every excuse in the book? Im sure u wouldn't give 2 sh*ts u just want ur money back right? That's how debt collection places feel. They don't care what u have going on or whatever the case may be they just want there money cuz u owe it to them. So shame on u people for running up these cards and not paying them back and coming up with all these excuses. And for all the people with comments saying to sue and get a lawyer I hope u don't teach ur children to not pay there bills as well. If u r teaching them not topay there bills u should get a shovel and dig a 8 foot hole and take a long nap cuz that awful advice.

If any debt collector tries to scare you by stating they'll be sending law enforcement, don't listen. Debt collecting is ALL civil and never criminal matters. I actually had one tell me he was going to get a warrant for my arrest and I laughed and said "not for me, that doesn't happen, this isn't criminal - I'm in law enforcement!"

The info about it being beyond a specified amount of time is true. Please be sure you know what your state allows as far as time for legitimate collections.

Bone-up on the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) so you're knowledgeable about these scum calling you and what they can ask for.

Also, if there is collateral attached, such as a car loan/lien, they can take the collateral and that's it. They can't get the money, too. If it's an unsecured loan, such as a Visa card, they can't take anything from you. Within the time period allowed, they can take you to court to garnish your income for the funds; but, they don't want to spend the time and money for court.

I had an "attorney" named "Sam Wyse" from this number call - to my parents! Brad Fuller is on the recording. Brad Fuller? So where is good ol' Sam?

Write a FDCPA letter to them and tell them to shove it. Send it certified with a signature returned and per the FDCPA, they are in violation - penalties are high if they ignore the letter. They don't like those letters.

Hmmm . . . you don't work there, but you are so satisfied with them that you came here, and a ton of other similar sites, to post insults directed at those who weren't treated as wonderful as you? Really? Maybe if you guys  would stop trying to act so smug, people like me wouldn't think you are all idiots. Tell your boss to quit trying to get on the phone when you guys can't seal the deal yourselves. He sounds dumb too.

parents received a call from a Ken Snift. Left a message saying that he needed to hear from my attorney by 6pm. Called the number and got ahold of a Charley Mcnair. Said at first they were an attorneys office. When I asked further about being an attorneys office...like what states are you licensed to practice law in ,I was told that they were represented by law offices all over the US but that they were just a call center and they had no attorneys on staff. I asked for the mailing address and Mr. Mcnair tried the "talk mad and try to scare them" tactic. I avised him he needed to start following the FDCPA right about now and give me his mailing address so that I could mail a cease and desist. He gave it to me the promptly hung up.
