Same as all the others. This is evil: it could easily entrap an unwary elderly person. Google "First National Lending Corporation" (use the quotes otherwise you get another equally fun bunch - NLC without the First). Fun bunch. They are oblivious of the Do-not-call registry.

A note about the Do Not Call list...
This list is given to companies and they are asked not to call the numbers.
They are GIVEN the list and ASKED not to call them. It is not legislated or regulated in anyway.
If you put you number on the DNC list you are pretty much giving out you number.  Heard a story about it on CBC radio.

They called me and I am on the DNC list as well.  I am mortgage lender myself and I found their voice message deceptive.  Furthermore, I called them and they indicated that they were 100% compliant with DNC.. Obviously not.  The person who answered the call indicated that the owner was a person by the name of Scott Aslai (not sure of the spelling).  Enought from parties like this! Those of us who are upright and honest are tarnished by bad actors such as these.

3/1/2008 Saturday
I received a voice mail message the caller said "this is Michelle your underwriter at mortgage company, your mortgage rate can be reduced to 5.875% provided I contact 866-509-0393 ext 117 & speak to assigned underwriter Scott within 3 business days.
I have no mortgage, and it is a universal fact that no mortgage co calls it's customers to offer a lower rate than what they carry, secondly the caller states her name and mentions that she is the underwriter, she then instructs to call a different person and identifies his name and that he is the underwriter.
Lots of fraudulent calls these days as well as spam on the internet.
Beware of these predators waiting for you get caught in a big time fraud.

2/12/08, "Michelle" called as well as my Underwriter. Same story as above. Keep passing the info along since they haven't truthfully represented anyone's mortgage company.

2/7/08 I got the same call.  They offered to lower my interest rate to 5.87 while my current interest rate is lower than this.  They obviously don't represent my mortgage company either

Same story as above. Michelle, a senior underwriter, wanted me to call Scott, the underwriter assigned to my case, in three business days in order to take advantage of this special rate lowering.

I received a call from this number this PM. "Michelle" identified herself as a "Senior Underwriter".  No company or business.  Obvious SCAM.

I got a call on 1/1708 saying "Michelle" could lower my interest rate.  I didn't return the call, but assumed it was my mortgage company as she knew my interest rate.  Am glad I did a bit of research first.

Got a call at approximately 4:15 pm today1/9/08. They announced that they were the underwriters of my home mortgage and wanted to lower my interest rate. Called the number, not because I wanted to do business with them, but because I had heard of this scam and wanted see if I could get enough information to turn over to law enforcement. They were wary. Asked my number then said that there was some confusion and my name had been entered in their data base by mistake. Then they hung up. They said that they were the First National Lending Corporation and represented about 16 mortgage bankers like Wachovia, Bank of America etc....

I got a call from 866-509-0393 saying that they were MY underwriting department and that they wanted to lower my rate.  It sounded bogus and, after checking this list, I decided that it is indeed someone ignoring the Do Not Call list.
