I keep getting calls from this number.  No messages and when I answer, it hangs up.  Any clues?

Calls daily, I finally picked up and they hung up. So, i called them back and it said, "thank you for calling please hold for the next representative."  After holding for a minute, i hung up.  I prepare documents and do research on my computer, so, maybe it IS the government.

Just dialed this number back and was answered by a woman.  I asked her why when I pick up the phone no one answers?  She said oh we're with Capital One, just give us your account number or social security number.  I told her I don't know who she is or why Capital One would be calling me if my account is in good standing.  She told me to call the number on the back of my credit card and so I did.  Capital One said that my account is in good standing, there is no need for them to call me.  To be aware that this is probably some kind of scam!!  

Other websites have stated that this is a collection agency, called GC Collections.

Some pidgin English speaking person called looking for Nancy, I told him there is no Nancy here. There isn't.  This isn't the 1st 866 toll free number to call and I'm getting tired of them. Its bad enough that I have to put up with "SPAM" in my email. And junk mail in the post, but I'm tired of having my privacy interrupted, by some clown on the phone!

So I've had this # calling my Aunt and Uncles house, where I used to live, but moved out back in 2006.... it's Capitol One... now, this is what erks me... when I opened my credit cards with them, I WAS LIVING AT MY NEW ADDRESS.... not with my aunt and uncle anymore.. So now they're calling and Annoying my aunt and uncle... not only that but when my aunt or uncle answer the phone, the capitol one rep, hangs up!

Yah it's Capitol one and telling them that they are calling the wrong number does not help. The idiots that are calling are somewhere in India and odviously do not speak the language. I actually sat on hold while he supposedly took my number off the computer and now i am getting more calls daily then ever.Not only are they taken our jobs there also taking up my precious time, should i charge Capitol one for that?Plus the minutes they are using up on my cell phone?

Whoever this is, they called alot during Dec.08, then stopped for awhile. BUT, now that Christmas is over... here they go again, calling and hanging up! I plan to file an online complaint with my STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL office. This is rediculous!

If you have Caller ID enabled, you can BLOCK these calls by subscribing to an additional service from your local phone complany of CALL BLOCK. Just call
block the number and go on with your life.

Why should people have to subscribe to an additional service to stop being harrassed? If this is the type of shady business Capitol One is into, I suggest that people close thier accounts, cut up thier cards and go with a different company. Apparently the barbarians in the Capitol One commercials are supposed to represent the various agencies they are involved with and not rival companies. Capitol One? Not in my wallet!

This is GC Services. They state they work with Capital One and she asked if I had a Cap One credit card. Per my response she asked me for my account #.  I refused to give her any information and called Capital One customer service.  Capital One CSR advised that they do not know this company and advised I call Cap One Fraud Department.

call repeatedly, no message, nothing.  won't answer because i do not know who they are or what they want.  never had a capital one card and never will so i have no idea why they would call.  probably phishing ....
