This company is a scam.  Ask them for the documentation of what you owe and to whom.
Send them a cease and desist letter from Fair Trade and  consumer Protection and they will stop harassing you.

This jerk keeps calling at least once a week saying I am under investigation.  I lied and told him that I was my sister and he left a number with a refernce number to call back.  Then he left a message just today saying that he sent documents to me in the mail about a month ago, which I never received.  He even got my name reversed so it must be something that is very very old cause I have not used that last name since I got married over 17 years ago.  He also said on this message to call a Document Delivery Service so I can arrange a time to get these documents..(and this was after he said that he sent them out a month ago).  He cannot even get his stories right.  Any suggestions?  I was told that if I talk to him, I could become liable for this account but it is something that I presume is way old because of the different name.  I have been up to date with all my bills.  What can I do?  Can someone help me?

They call me about once a month saying that I am under investigation.  They ask if this is me and I am very leary about giving any info out about anyone I know.  I told them I was her sister.  They are a pain in the butt and the lying has to stop.  We need to do something about these people....

Best advice I could give is to contact the BBB, FTC and the Attorney General's Office.  I watch my credit report like a hawk, noticing that these people posted a hard inquiry.  I called to inquire about their justification and they referenced an account that was wat past the statute of limitations.  The rep also became increasingly agitated when I laughed at him saying he had court documents.  I told him to send them right on over.  Of course, he did not send anything.  Then my attorney wrote him a letter demanding that he back off or else be sued under the Fair Credit Dispute Act.   I took all of the above-mentioned precautions and they have yet to respond.  Case in point, they are scammers.  Follow these steps and I guarantee that they will not only back off, but St some point be shut down if not fined first.  They have a long reputation of attempting to get over on people.

Got a call from a blocked number looking for a totally different person, claimed the individual was under investigation. Had me freaked out even though I wasn't who they were looking for claiming I was lying about being the other individual. Funny thing, I oversaw a collection agency at one time and mentioned his tactics and the FDCPA and he hung up on me. Go figure.

These people called me and told me that he was investigating me for investigation.

These people call my job once a month saying they have "time sensitive legal documentation" they need to get to me -- I don't know who they are but they do identify themselves as Hamner Investment Services and the person calling leaves his name as Brian Pierce ---

Its a collection agency..
