Person named Frances McFarland called my married daughter in another city and asked for me! She said I had listed my daughter as a contact.  There would be no reason for me to ever list my daughter as a contact for credit - much less to have used her birth name since that isn't what we call her! I think they got my daughter's info from Spokeo. It shows me at an address that was her first apartment after college! Connect the dots!

This company keeps calling neighbors to harrass, even though legally they know they cannot do that.

Got much the same call asking for my neighbor's phone number. Called them back to inform them not to call us again and to remove our number from their data base. She asked which one. I asked if they had caller ID which I'm sure they do and Shad hung up.

Also informed them of potential illegal practices. Her response was she did not discuss that they were a debt collection agency but didn't refute my statement on illegal practices, but it's pretty clear by the title, their automated answering system and a little research.  Pretty flimsy excuse.

One of their callers is a man by the name of Gregory Jones. This piece of an excuse for a human been upset my pregnant neighbor so much that she end up at the emergency room, the debt he's trying to collect is not even hers, is her father that live several hundred miles away. She's getting an attorney to file a law suit against this a***ole.

My neighbor claimed a man by the name of Deidrick, Called him asking for me, asking if I was his neighbor, He claimed to not be a bill collector, wanted him to take a message to my next door. Deidrick, asked him to have me call him, "URS" about a personal matter and that she "would know" what this is about.  

My neighbor wrote his info down as follows “1-866-516-6961, Ext 4548. Deidrick, from URS in Houston, Texas.

Judging by previous posters and commenting on this number, this same outfit is probably bothering relatives, too. This is not right and something needs to be done about this harassment.

Man called my home number today and asked for my ex, whom I haven't seen nor had any contact with in almost 19 years!  I've had 4-5 phone numbers since we were married, all unpublished, and I'm remarried and still have an unpublished phone number.  This call was very disturbing to me because I've worked very hard to make sure I have no contact with and no association with my ex for 19 years, and no way for him/her to get my number or for me to be affiliated with him/her in any way.  I, too, have no idea how this man/company got my number as a possible contact or connection to my ex. When I asked this guy how he got my number and how my number was associated with my ex, he said "it just is" but since I didn't have any contact with my ex or info to give him, that he would "remove it from their system."  When I asked what "system" my unpublished phone number was in as associated with my ex, and what company this guy was with, he refused to tell me. When my spouse called the local number back that came up on caller I.D.,  480.374.5798, discovered it was United Recovery Systems - a national debt collection company based locally.  Doubly disturbing since my ex went to prison for embezzlement and has attempted to use my identity/information in the past to open credit/loan accounts. These companies should be required to disclose how they are getting their contact information.

Yesterday my husband took a call from this number.  The person calling supposedly was a detective calling about a "business deal."  He was reluctant to give his name.  He was looking for my son and daughter-in-law in Florida.  No information was given out and looking the number up we learned of this scam.

If they call again tell them they are in clear violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you are going to call IRS to report them......... they'll stop.
I used to do collections for my job - called ONLY the customers.  It is against the law to call a neighbor, friend or relative to collect on a debt.

If you have a Facebook page, they probably got your info from there.  It might be a good idea to unlable relatives, or neighbors.

Just got a call for my brother. "Tom" said he had several phone numbers with the last name [maiden name] but none of them had the first name [brother's name] so he was calling around to try & find someone connected to him. I live several states away from my brother & do not use my maiden name for anything. Not sure how they got me but I feel so disgusted by it. He claimed he could not give ANY information because it would be illegal and he could get fired if he said any more than to have him call Tom at 866-516-6961, xt. 4395 - and that was only after I refused to give him any information on my brother.

United Recovery Systems....Collection Agency

I got a call last night from a guy called John Leskey, looking for one of my neighbors.  I said I would take a message and pass it along and asked what message he would like to leave.  He said they will know my name.  My neighbor had never heard of a John Leskey.

I JUST GOT THE SAME PHONE CALL . THEY START OFF ASKING PRYING QUESTIONS THAT MADE ME IMMEDIATELY SUSPICIOUS. ASKING IF I LIVED NEAR ANOTHER ADDRESS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. I WAS PRETTY RUDE TO HER AND TOLD HER TO NEVER USE MY PHONE NUMBER AS A CONTACT FOR MY NEIGHBORS EVER AGAIN, SHE LAUGHED AT ME AND SAID NO, SHE WAS ONLY GOING TO CALL THIS ONE TIME. ISN'T THIS AN ILLEGAL PRACTICE?

Got a call from this number from a women in Texas who said she googled my street and came up with my cell phone number. She called to ask if I know my neighbor two doors down. She only had a last name and said it was against the privacy act to tell me his first name. Claims she has been trying to reach him by phone for weeks, and would I pass a message to him. I wrote her info down as follows " 1-866-516-6961, Ext 4363. Rhonda from URS in Houston, Tx.". I passed this along to my neighbor that same day.

I keep getting calls on my business phone from a natalie for some one I have neither heard of or employed with our company. If I get one more phone call from them I will file a complaint and suit against them!!! I am tired of them and will follow through with my complaint and suit.

I got a call from a "Natalie" asking to speak to a friend of mine who has no connection what-so-ever with my phone number!  It was a shock and very weird. Natalie, if you view this post, DON'T DO THIS EVER AGAIN! Thank you.

Got a call (from caller id 713-589-5138) asking for a person whose name may be within my family, but stated on the answering machine that if I was not this person that I was not permitted to listen to the rest of the message.  (I don't believe that can hold-up in court.)  They said they were Debbie from [not audible] Recovery Systems trying to reach [Jane Doe] about a debt and she should call back to 866-516-6961.  [Jane Doe] is not part of my household.  This is the first time to receive this type of call from URS.  I'll see if they persist.

This is a collection agency that contacts the neighbors of their intended target. I am the neighbor that unwittingly answered the phone. The caller-id did not accurately reflect who was calling and the collection agent did not accurately identify herself or her company. She asked for my help in contacting my neighbor in regards to some personal information about their son.

Woman with foreign accent who claimed to NOT be a bill collector (yeah, right) called me, wanted me to take a message to my next door neighbor, asking them to call "URSLP" about a personal matter and that he "would know" what it is about. Said her name was Shad.

I told her "he's in the phone book" and she said she wasn't in ND so I looked up the listing for her ... I know you've heard of the Internet, lady! She claimed the calls weren't going thru to that number. Right.....

I'm not going to bother my neighbor.  

Interestingly, caller ID showed call supposedly coming from a North Dakota number, 701-205-3605. I can't find any info on it online and don't want to make a long distance call to try it back.

Judging by previous posters commenting on this number, this same outfit is probably bothering his relatives, too. If one of them wants to give him a message from

they are niebghors and relatives claiming my phone number is not listed. This is a clear violation of my privacy.
