Oh, wow!  Thanks for this information!  I applied for one specific job yesterday on jobs.com and wondered about the differences in the job post dates; it looked like the position was originally posted on yahoo jobs on Dec. 6, 2010, but there it was posted again on Jan. 10, 2011 at jobs.com.  I thought maybe the first person that was hired didn't work out, so they opened up the position again.  Now, I feel kind of embarrassed, because I feel like I'm bothering this employer with an unsolicited resume about a job that has already been filled.  I was really excited about the job!  It fit me perfectly!  I was excited about the company, too, and now this kind of cuts me out of ever being able to apply there again.

Wish there was some redress to this problem.  It's sneaky and tricky and mean.  I think I'll go over to the website for my State Attorney General's office and file a complaint.  I mean, this is not good!

Something else I'm going to do is go edit my resume, remove all information from it, and instead insert something about jobs.com being a scam.  Let them choke on that!

IMHO Job.com is a "parasite" job site with no original content.  They seem to take real job leads from one job board, then post this lead on another board, directing the original job application link to point to Job.Com.  This forces you to register with Job.com before they forward you to the actual job board/site, which is usually JobFox.  Once you get to JobFox or whatever, you have to register again there.  This is how I got registered with them.

It gets better - I believe that Job.Com has no jobs.  Instead they have spiders that sweep other job boards for their jobs.  Then Job.com re-formats that information and places it on their board, with a link to the real job site (like JobFox).  Every job that you select from their site forwards you to another job board.  All of their impressive statistics about how many jobs they offer is simply a count of the number of jobs that their spiders have scavenged from other sources.

The company SpiderMount sells a "Job Spider" that does just this - it is called "Job Wrapping" and "Job Scraping".

In between each Job.com screen is a confusing "bait" screen selling some service.  Press the wrong button and you end up being solicited by some scam job or resume service.

Register with them and you will start to receive tons of job scan emails and phone calls.  And no, they will not unregister you or delete your account when you contact them.

Job.com is owned by eNom - "domain reseller registrar".  Two of their products are the "eNom API" and "Instant Reseller".  eNom API allows the user to "Integrate into an existing site".  It "seamlessly integrates with 3rd party merchant account/billing tools, hosting/email tools, and other value-added services.".  Instant Reseller will "start earning revenue by driving customers to your very own white labeled storefront ".

It appears to me that Job.com has "integrated" into other job sites such as JobFox where they start "driving customers" (job seekers) to Job.com, where they "resell" the jobs that they find there.

eNom is owned by Demand Media.

We kept receiving these calls on our cell phone...similar stories as what has been posted here.  I called the number today and told them that we continually get calls from the number and we'd like to know how to get off of their dialing list.  The guy was very nice and confirmed our number and said that while it takes 24 hours they would place us on their own do not call list.  We are on the national do not call registry as well however they got our number somewhere?!  Hope it works.

Do NOT post any information with job.com unless you want harassing phone calls from school advisors!  And this is after I stated I did not want any information

unfortunately, I fell for this scam. They said that they were calling about grant imformation. I gave them my credit card number because I have been trying to get information about grants so I thought that they were a real company. That will never happen again.

Sounds like a bill collector. A male called twice on my cell looking for Josh. There is a slight hesitation before the guy answers.  Too bad for Josh.

Got a call today from this number.  No one on the line.  I've been putting my resume out on the Internet the past few days, and I'm pretty certain that is how these Bozos got my cell phone number.  I did three things.  First I registered my phone with the government do not call list.  However, that takes thirty days to take effect.  Next, I entered the number in my cell phone contact list, giving it the name Spam, and set my phone to ring silent when I receive a call from that number.  Lastly I checked with my cell phone company to see if I could block the caller.  That option was not available a few years back, but it is now.  I'm still ticked that I had to go through all just because I'm looking for a new job!

Well I guess they are calling me because Im looking for work. I specificly wrote on Job.com, Jobing.com, Monster that I don't want to be contacted by phone and I'm not interested in continuing education. I need to pay my mortage and put food on the table. I have cut back my cell time to save money and now I'm getting all these spam phone calls.  Brenda I'll be happy to help pay the postage on those poopy diapers.

We get about 5-6 a day from these morons. They sometimes leave a message and sometimes do not. My wife just graduated from the University of Phoenix and the calls started about three weeks right after that.

I found out that when I signed up with Job.com that they got my phone number off of that.  When I signed up I made it clear that I did not want phone calls from other parties.  Apparently they didn't listen.  They informed me it can take up to 48 hours to remove me from their list.  Ahh the wonderful age of computers.  Amazing how long it takes to remove me from the list.  My phone number got on pretty quick though

what is this number?? they have been calling my cell phone for weeks! I have never called their number and they keep calling! I answered once and they just hang up soon after! And when I don't answer, they don't leave a message! I mean, if someone calls me and I don't know the number, I usually don't answer then let them LEAVE A MESSAGE! They don't even leave a message! They call constantly, even at 11:00 at night! I start school in a few days and I keep my cell phone on vibrate as an alarm clock for me every morning and if this number keeps calling me I'm never going to get any sleep! This needs to stop!

AAAHHHHHHHH.  I was getting these calls once every 3 days or so.  I would answer and no one was there.  I finally called back and got a live person.  I told them to talk my number off the list.  They said ok.  This was on a Friday.  It is now Wed and I have received 3 calls a day now.  In the morning to wake me up.  In the afternoon to wake my baby up.  Also around dinner time.  If they lived in the same city I live I would go there and open up a can of whoop a** on them.
They got my number because my husband is looking for a job.  The one calling from 866-553-8166 is not calling about a job.  They are calling to see if he wants to go to school.  He needs a job not more schooling.
Well I called them again today after they woke up my baby.  I talked to "who was in charge".  They said that they will make sure that my number is put on the do not call list.  If they keep calling I will find their address and start mailing my baby's poopy dypers, one for each call they do.  Then we will see how fast the calls stop.  When I find their address I will post it here.  A mass protest will teach them to stop.

Always calls at weird hours. Most of the time never says anything, and never leaves a message. HOWEVER, they did talk once and say it was a scholarship fund. They knew my name and school. (Graduating this year!) I don't know how or why they have my number. I'm getting highly annoyed!! I put them on my block list, so now it automatically blocks them..
