Thanks for posting the name on the card.  It is helpful to know what the card actually says, because if you have recently purchased a home, you know that as soon as your sale is recorded you will be flooded with Junk Mail.  Don't be surprised if they know your name, and loan amount as all of this information is public record.

I called this number back and talked to Barbara and it was a Welcome Wagon to welcome us to our new house they came out and gave us a package of information and a dinner gift card for $30.00 to Red Lobster and information about there company. They were very nice and it is a great service and left information about there company for us for future refrence, there was no cost for any of this and I thought this was a great service.

I just got the letter.  At first I thought it was some sort of formal invitation (it's printed on very nice paper).  I looked up the mailing zip code and found that it came from Fresno (93721).

I'm always interested in finding out what triggered my name/info to get on junk mailing lists (so that I can then go to whoever I actually did do business with and kick them in the balls for selling my info).  I recently purchased a new home through Coldwell Banker Real Estate using Fidelity National Title for Escrow, Eloan for lending, and Allied for Homeowner's Insurance...  Has anyone else recently done business with any of these companies?

I got the card today.  We bought our house 2 weeks ago.  I am certain that this company pulled our info from public records.  Once the deed is recorded, anybody has access to the information.  So don't sue KB Homes, 1st American or Country Wide yet.  Just don't call the number because then they'll have your phone # too!  If you have a new phone #, make sure you get on the national "Do Not Call" registry.  Another way to cut down junk mail is to advise the credit reporting agencies, Experian, TransUnion, that you don't want unsolicited credit offers.

Got the same letter today. I'm not sure which mortgage company, but our builder told us that our financing was moved to Country-Wide this NOV.

Googled results from other website show one entry from the company that owns the number and it mentions...

"We do not steal info, if you are a new homeowner or refinance... your loan company sells your info, then any company can subscribe to the list of people who are mailed the postcards. Then when you call in responding to the parcel, Barbara then has a welcoming gift; a dinner gift card for two and a complimentary water analyses from your sink to give you the up to date info on TDS, PH balance, iron and chlorine content, we then leave you with brochures about water treatment equipment with no pressure to buy, just as future reference because most new homeowners or families are concerned about the water quality for drinking, skin problems or simply to preserving their plumbing and fixtures from water spots and mineral build up. I hope this sheds some light".

the complimentary dinner sounds nice but it's still solicitation to get you to consider their product.

I got the same letter today, and it has several hallmarks of being a scam - some parcel we weren't expecting (unexpected reward for calling them); time-sensitivity (please contact within 7 days); very limited contact information (the phone number and 'Ask for Barbara', but no return address); nice paper to lull you into complacency.

My advice, don't call.

My lender isn't Countrywide and escrow co isn't Fidelity, and I got one too.  Probably they can get your name from county registries regardless of who the lender & escrow is.  Likely as not it's some independent outfit trying to sell you something you probably don't need.  It's one way to work around the "do not call" list, since they didn't call you, they sent you a postcard.   At least they had to pay postage...

Bought a new house. 2 weeks later I got one of those. I called them tons of time trying to deem my parcel. No one ever answers. All I got was a stupid voice message saying leaving your information and number. I did. So Im guessing I am going to be recieving junk mails/texts and whatever now.

I received that letter too. An elderly lady called me and asked me questions. Then they said they have gifts package for me. Also they will send someone to test my water. I refused that service. Since I did that, I didn't get any gifts. Lady on the other end was kind of strange. She was trying to be friendly but as soon as I refused water test they pretty much hang up the ph.

I blocked my number and called in to see b/c I am not a new homeowner.  I spoke with a lady and told her I needed to know who they were before I gave any info and she said it's kind of like welcome wagon.  Local vendors/merchants put together a parcel of offers for new homeowners.  I wouldn't blame your mortgage company just yet, it might be that they are collecting information from public records.  I told her I wasn't a new homeowner, so she is supposed to remove me from the list; we'll see.
