Daily call. I answer, it hangs up after a second. Caller ID says "unavailable"
Annoying!

I am retired military and have an AAFES credit card. activated an account with the AAFES travel site. But, I have not gone any further than that. Therefore, I do not know why this company keeps calling. We don't answer and there is never a message. When I dial the number al I get is a recording telling me which numbered key to select for various departments. Never a live person, unless I go into one of the sites, but that still isn't a guarantee that I will speak to a real life human being.

DEAR AAFES,
I am on hold this minute for Military Vacation Rewards to ask them to PLEASE take me off their call list. Somehow they got my cell phone number (I hope AAFES did not share it with them), but they call me everyday. Sometimes I get a call two or three times a day.
The ONLY reason I would call them is to get them off my back. I don't know how or why AAFES got hooked up with this outfit, but I don't want anything to do with them. If you can contact them please ask them to delete me from their database, phone book and anywhere else they have my name. They are driving me crazy.
So far, I have been holding for 22 minutes and still no one has answered.
I am sorry this turned into a rant, but Military Vacation Rewards is not something I have come to expect from AAFES.
Thank You,
1SG (Ret)

The incoming call was from a rep called saying it was a follow-up to a previous call I supposedly had with them. When I said I did not recall any phone call with them, he just hung up. Even if it was a bona fide GVR rep, he was very rude and unprofessional.

Block the number on your phone.

I believe that these people may be part of a Veteran rewards program. I signed up and paid for a membership and they give major discounts on dining, travel and other activities for Veterans. We went to a place called Too Jay's in Florida and received a 30% discount on our entire bill.
If it is the same group it is well worth the membership fee if you qualify.
Veteran's rewards program.
Not sure if these guys are part of it.

I receive regular calls from this number. Just a hang up when they get the answering machine. I do not answer 800 calls that show up on caller id as unknown.

Government Vacation Rewards.. just called my cell and asked for my hubby.. ??? who is not associated with this number in anyway.. and had my name too... I do not know who they are and Never gave them my number.. So Did not tell them who I was but that they had the Wrong number and to take it OFF of their Calling List of numbers... My Personal Cell is NOT for public use.. only personal family and friends do I allow to call... If they are in associated with AAFES boy do they have an ear full coming from me.

GOV Vacation Rewards is one of the most annoying telemarketers out there. I am sorry i ever gave my number out to them. Definitely was not worth the small gain from joining.

I got a call from them. Weird. He said he was returning a call I had made to them last wk. Said I had called, left a message with questions, and had requested they call me back. He had my name also. I had never even heard of them..much less called them. Told them I wasn't even military or government.

Received call today at about 3:30 pm Eastern Time.
I get called by these folks quite often, so when I saw the number, I ignored the call (Thank you Caller ID!).
Surprisingly, Diane (a real, live person, I think) from Government Vacation Rewards left a message that she wanted to speak with me.
Well, I don't want to talk with her.

GOV Vacation Rewards is a travel agency that somehow got themselves in with AAFES and various company "employee discounts" programs. However, they don't offer any special discounts except for some reduced-price cruises for military members. And anyone can "join," not just government employees and military. Now they're calling everyone that has "signed up" with them with an agressive sales pitch for an upgraded membership and "free vacations" for annual fee of $495. Uh-huh. No thanks.

I recently registered my cell and home number on the Do Not Call Gov't Registry web-site and now I get called constantly from odd numbers on both cell and home within seconds of each other, since I won't answer the unknown number!
| Carike 2011-06-06 21:02:55 Unknown |
Yes, it is a solicitation to sign up for what they say is a "free" reward travel service for government employees. I wonder how they got my cell phone number.
