I got a notice that appeared very official, saying that my automobile service contract was expiring, and I should call this number.  However, I have an extended warranty from the dealer and it should not be expiring.  I called the dealer and he told me that this was a company that gets information from the Motor Vehicles Department and had nothing to do with them.  He said they get a dozen calls a week about this and this mail belonged in the shredder.  I have gotten many such notices from other companies in the past -- but this one appeared to be much more legitimate than the others.

I second the first comment. The mailing is spam but initially looks official.

Are you kidding me?  It doesn't look official.  It has SCAM written all over it!

The ironic part is the clearly visible $2,000 fine or 5 years inprisonment for the interference in delivery of this garbage.  Does that apply to obvious scams, too?  Morons.

I have got this thing in the mail many times since a week after we purchased our car Sept 08. I do not have any warranty on my '95 Jeep Liberty and am a bit nervous about that, since newer vehicles cost a small fortune to repair these days and I have been laid off and my wife only works as a volunteer.

So, thanks to all your comments I am NOT calling this number [866-714-6166]. It is GREED that drives these scams and GREED that has the world all messed up, hence I don't have a job anymore. I wish I could get all these greedy bastards in a room, I used to train martial arts, can't afford it anymore, but I would SQUASH all these greedy pigs and politicians to pulp, make some paper which would also save some trees. Oops, got off on a tangent there, sorry.

How many times do they keep getting to say, "Factory Service contract Expiration-This Is Not A Bill". Sounds like something that needs to be sent to the state Attorney Generals to me. What do you think? Put the heat on these scam artists. Send all your scam spam to the state and see if they want to do something about them.

Just to let everyone know, National Service Center is not a auto warranty company, in fact this is a STOLEN identity of a legitimate company and they have been notified. This is mail fraud. The name belongs to a business to business company that merged into Illinois Tool who has nothing to do with auto warranties or auto service contracts. Please save your mailings as evidence so that the FTC and Florida Attorney General can go after these people. Listed on mailing: Phone 1-866-714-6166, US Postal Permit # 728.

I received the scam mailing and recognized it as fraudulent right off the bat.  I made a copy of the mailing (front and back of a folded mailer sheet) and downloaded a complaint form from the USPostalService website and filled it out, and sent the complaint and the copy of the mailing to the address on the form.  You should all do the same.
