Also received voice mail to contact this number said to be US Bank Fraud Investigation.  Called US Bank directly and verified that the number and unit at US Bank is legitimate.

I too received a message for fraud alert asking me to call this number. Calling the number at first, I was asked to immediately give them my CC#. Obviously this seems suspicious, so I hung up and called USBank and they confirmed that the number is legit to me as well. Still, I would advise others to call USBank directly as they can transfer you to the appropriate fraud center without the need to tell anyone your CC# over the phone.

My parents received a call and recorded the number for me.  I went through the official US Bank number on the back of my card and they confirmed that it was a legit US Bank Fraud Number!  I was transfered to their Fraud detection branch and indeed, they had stopped an unathorized card purchase!

We got a message from this number asking to call back.  It was US Bank, noticing (correctly) that we'd scanned the wrong card while out of town earlier today.  Funny that they use a non-publicized number, which raises the suspicion of (careful) people like us!

Whew...  I too received a call stating it was US Bank's Fraud protection.  There had been an unauthorized purchase on my check card and they stopped it.  Upon sitting down this evening, I second guessed my conversation with them and checked the number online.  It is indeed a US Bank Fraud Protection

The number is in fact legitimate...  I called my local branch and verified it was US Bank's Fraud Protection program.  Turns out after making a few very small purchases on PayPal and one on Amazon they saw it as potential fraud, locked my card down.  After spending a couple minutes on the phone they unlocked the card and allowed the transactions through.  The lady indicated the charge to Amazon (and then listed the paypal ones) thus describing why it flagged in their system.  It's a nice feature - though I can imagine had I not been near the phone to get the message, this could have caused a bit of chaos, but it's for our own protection.  Hats off to those who ask first and research before allowing scammers into their lives!

This is a scam! Much of these posts on this page are posted for other numbers word for word. This has become an industry; do not fall for it. I got a call from "US Bank" about possible fraud on a card I do not own and they got my name wrong. This is phishing people! If you called your bank and they said there was fraud, it's because these losers took your number and are phishing for more info. So in a way they are letting you know they stole your info!

Of course they will ask for your info, how else do they know which account/customer they are talking about?
