This is NOT a scam they are calling you because you have NSF's.  it is their recovery department and they are trying to recover where you have over drawn your account.  I think it is funny all of you state it is a scam...lol.

I got this call and was skeptical. I had recently been a victim of fraud with my debit card (still don't have the money back, overdrawn, the whole nine yards) so I called the fraud department at Wachovia directly. They hadn't heard of this number, so she took the number, put me on hold and called. I guess the girl who answered the phone said she was from the "recovery" department and when the actual Wachovia employee asked for her employee ID number she put her on hold and never came back. Wachovia is going to report it to the authorities and, hopefully, put a stop to it. Likely if anyone says this number is legit, they're doing damage control and working for this company. If they call, hang up immediately. Then call Wachovia and report the call.

This is a definite scam! Wish I would've known before they got my info! They asked to verify my address and phone number...unfortunately I gave them the info because I had just moved and thought that's why they were calling. I informed Wachovia and had them notate my acct. Why are people still doing stuff like this?

These guys have been calling me for a few days, I Googled the number and found out it was a scam. When they called again, I pressured Wendy. She replied that she was with Wachovia the first time she identified herself, then she said she was calling on behalf of Wachovia the second time. I asked which is it, for Wachovia or are you Wachovia... she freaked out and laughed.

Busted you jokers! Get a life.

If you have an iPhone get iBlacklist. Its amazing. These idiots will just get a busy signal from now on.

A new law requires companies to get permission to call you on your cell phone.  If you receive this call tell them you're skeptical, ask for the customer service #, which is 800-wachovi(a), get their full name, which they probably just gave you when they answered, have them spell it for you, write it down.  Call the customer service # for the bank and verify this person works there.  Simple solution.  When in doubt... be paranoid... but follow your brain, not your paranoia.  Oh yeah, look up TCPA ruling on google!

I received a call today from a woman name Britney Mcdaniel claiming to be from Wachovia. I also received a call from a Micheal Seats a couple days ago on the same matter. I contacted my Wachovia branch and they said that this is not a legit Wachovia number. They are fishing for information to get into our checking accounts. Everytime I receive a call from this number I take down the name of whoever I'm speaking with. Take down the names and turn it into your Wachovia branch. This is beyond harrassment. I am going to get a good attorney and find out what to do about this. This is nothing but a scam, Wachovia said they would not ask for any information on the phone at all, they don't send emails or anything of the kind. They don't even recognize this telephone number! SCAM! These people should be arrested for this! I for one will not stand for it, the calls continue and I will continue to make a list of every person claiming to be from Wachvoia.

You guys are freakin lunatics! Here's what you do. This is a new project started by Wachovia. Most of the branches don't even know about it. It's only a couple of months old. Go into your branch, give them the phone number, have them call right in front of you to verify these people are legit. I did that, and it IS a real Wachovia number. My bank rep said they were fraud. I got a call back saying they couldn't stop the calls unless I verified so I took their info into my bank and demanded they call this number right away. They did and got the managers name and mail code, they also got the employee numbers to verify, and they are real. I felt terrible for calling them scam artists. You bunch of crazies, VERIFY BEFORE YOU JUMP THE GUN!

This is why I love G1. There is a feature that is called "Send directly to Voicemail". I just created a contact named "Junk" with all these scam phone numbers and now my phone doesn't even ring. Since they usually don't leave messages, I don't even have to delete those. This phone was worth every penny.

I also received a call from the so called Wachovia.  I pay my bills...even though some think that is the only reason you receive calls.  The call was not a collection call...it was a verification call.  In other words, give us your information, and we will verify it by using it!  Sorry, not born yesterday.  The lady that called me sounded confident and business like, but did not give her name immediately.  She started by asking if the phone number she called was a cell number...that is in my records.  Obviously, she was starting a line of questioning that is not Wachovia's policy according to the Wachovia employee I spoke with.  Wachovia said if there was ever an issue with my account, it would come from my branch.  They will be suprised next time because I am switching to all cash...money orders.  What account will they ask for then.  Sad!  It is a shame these "scammers" can't spend as much time at a real job instead of trying to scam everyone else who has a real job.

Actually this is 100% a scam. I was called 4 times in the past 4 days and finally I answered the phone. They wanted me to give them a credit card number to pay to resolve my account, meanwhile there was nothing wrong with my account. I got the "employees" name and then called wachovia about this person. There was no record of this employee and the woman told me none of wachovia's numbers start with 866. They said this is a scam that has been happening. Anyone who is arguing that this is not a scam is either one of them or complete idiots. DO NOT GIVE THESE FRAUDS YOUR INFORMATION!

actually if you got the call from them you would know that they are updating information  and getting permission to continue to contact you on your cell phone to let you know about account information....like i dont know true fraud! why would they transfer you to another wachovia employee? hmm that seems like they might get caught...call someone in charge maybe... not all new ideas in such a large business go through the branch employees...get your facts right before you act like that :)

I've been called 3  times in the last 3 days by this #. I just spoke with a Wachovia rep, and this # is bogus. She told me that none of Wachovia's phone #s start with 866. Just another fishing scam. The kind of scum run scams like this really piss me off, because it's usually older people that fall for it, and what a P.O.S. you have to be to scam the elderly.

The caller left a message identifing himself from Wachovia? and said to call him back. I owe a lot of debts. Mtgs and Credit cards. This country is built on debt. When a bank loans you money for a mortgage, they get the cash from one of the 12 regional federal banks who print the paper or just electronically transfer the funds to the lender for the low discount rate and in turn lend it to the borrower. The money did not exist until you creat the debt: mortgage, car loan, credit card debt ect... All interest paid is usery. They creat the money out of nothing and we are enslaved to our job to pay back the debt. Our country does the same thing. The Central bank creates the money out of paper not backed by gold or silver. It is then loaned to the US in return for treasury bills etc. The private bankers of the Central bank more commonly know as the Fed., short for Federal Reserve in turn sell the newly acuired debts and obtain money/gold/assets/corporations/newspapers/media outlets/politicians and the list goes on. Their is not enough money in circulation to cover all of the loans, mortgages, bank deposits etc. It is fake money.
From the 1770's until 1932 when our dollar was backed by and exchangeable for gold, the gold prices did not change much. http://www.ahmedabadjewellery.com/d_goldpricerecord.php
The feds took the peoples gold in 1933. Now look what an ounce of gold costs. What will wheat, gas, housing cost in the future?? Soon will need to dump the penny and make change with nickles or dimes because of inflation on this fake money, THE DOLLAR, A federal reserve NOTE. NOTE??? what is a note? A debt-What do they owe? They used to owe gold, but not anymore. There was not enough gold to cover all of the fake money that was being printed. So they had to get rid of the gold standard that was backing the money. I think we wil see a new money come into the picture. A new scam perpatrated on the public to ease all of the country's or the worlds financial problems. Will Our new Pres. be the one to usher in THE NEW DEAL?? Repulican or Democrat they are all in the scam together. Both parties are manipulated and controlled by the top bankers and corporations. They get bailed out, but not little guy. The fed highly encourages the US to borrow money, going into debt and then perform the bailouts and who gets stuck with the bill? Every human in this country does to the amount over $33,000 each. Divide the national debt $10,000,000,000,000. (10 Trillion) By 300,000,000 people.
This country will soon not be able to pay its national debt. Who will own America then??????? China, Japan, Chase, BofA, Goldman sachs???
